Yuichiro Hanma | Baki (WIKI)
Introduction
Hello everyone! I hope you are having a spectacular day. If you are not, then I can introduce you to something spectacular. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you to the titan that is Yuichiro Hanma. No, this is not an Attack on Titan Wiki. However, if you do want a blog related to AoT, let me know.
Quote the Anime has an existing blog regarding the Baki series. It consists of more than eleven mind blowing Baki (2020) quotes.

I genuinely had trouble describing Yuichiro. So, for starters, he is Baki’s Grandfather and Yuijiro’s father. How do I explain that!? Those characters alone are very complex! It also does not help my ego trying to convey to you all of Yuichiro’s appearance.
Although he has a few scenes, he is quite a memorable character. He is a proud man, but at the same time, he knows when to reel in his OPness.
Is that even a word? OPness? He is overpowered, okay? He is a force to be reckoned with. Actually, don’t even try to get near him. Yes, he is carefree, but why would want to dance with a Great White Shark? If you don’t mess with him, then he won’t punch you. I think.

Appearance

In Yuichiro Hanma’s defense, the Baki anime and manga have some unique character designs. He’s in front of me, and I am having so much trouble describing his appearance.
Like how do I explain that? He defies all forms of biology, and personally, I find his physique insane. How do I even begin to analyze Yuichiro’s character design? Okay, take a deep breath. He has muscles, that’s for one. Even his neck is muscular. His arms are ripped. Instead of shoulders, the man has got boulders. Doesn’t he kind of look like a genetically modified butterfly? Am I being too harsh? Or am I just jealous? I am five foot three on a good day, and I have scrawny arms– give me a break.
He is usually seen topless. In my opinion, I think he’s just showing off his chest. He also sports a Cheshire Cat smile. It’s creepy, right? Imagine walking to that smile. Ugh, I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Since he is a Hanma, he has a special characteristic on his back. It is the demon. If you don’t know what I am talking about, that’s fine. Most of the time I don’t even know what I’m saying. But, there are multiple panels where Yuichiro’s demon is clearly shown (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME 35, CHAPTER 286: YUICHIRO)
This ‘demon’ is not an actual creature, nor is it a tattoo. The muscles on his back are so well defined, that if you see his contract and strengthen his back, there is a defined image of a demon. I’ll give you a minute to register that. His muscles literally look like a demon. Yuichiro has a widow’s peak which was actually one of the first things I noticed about him. There aren’t that many anime characters that have a widow’s peak, so that’s another interesting feature of his.
He has got long dark brown hair that’s tied in a low ponytail. Nine times out of ten his eyebrows are raised, but not in a confused kind of manner. He looks more amused and smug, which only makes me want to punch him in the face. At least they are thick. It would be funny if they were thin. As you can see in the picture above, Yuichiro’s hands are humongous. He can grasp your entire neck with just one hand.

Like his hands, his feet are huge too. He looks exactly how I imagine Big Foot would look like. His nose is small. There’s that. It’s pointy and innocent looking. Do you know how tall he is? He is SIX FOOT SIX. That’s about 200 cm! Are you kidding?! He could actually step on me. He doesn’t even need to fight me. He can just take one glance in my direction, and it’s over for me. His ears are worth an entire paragraph. The reason why they are cauliflower shaped is because of his abilities. What kind of abilities? His grappling skills.
Are you interested to hear about his weight? This is going to be mind-blowing to you, but it is not impossible, okay? He weighs a total of 330 pounds or around 150 kilograms. I know I should not compare myself to this animated Hulk, but he weighs a little less than three times my own weight. Wait, hold on. It’s been a couple of months since I weighed myself, but I’m sure you get the point, right? This is by definition, a big man. Actually, I’m not being complete. Yuichiro Hanma is a MASSIVE dude.
I can’t believe I wrote two whole pages analyzing Yuichiro’s physical appearance. For the hundredth time, I am most likely envious of his physique. Hey, look on the bright side. At least you all have more to read!
Personality

Yuujiro, Baki’s father and the son of Yuichiro, stated that he and his father are ‘two completely different people’ (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME 35, CHAPTER 288 : THE GRANDSON OF THE STRONGEST).
Mitssunari Tokugawa is an old man who is in charge of the Underground Arena. He is extremely knowledgeable about fighters and fighting itself. He also said that Yuuijiro and Yuichiro are total opposites. So, father not like son— if you don’t get my pun, the reference is the popular saying’ Father like son.
What Mitsunari meant by that was that Yuichiro is a much kinder human being, compared to his own son. This is definitely evident when Yuujiro and Baki are battling each other. Yuichiro was not there to support his son, but instead his grandson, Baki.

However, just because he is nicer than Yuujiro, does not mean he goes easy on his opponents. A great example of this would be when he fought and effortlessly defeated the US navy.
I don’t watch WWE or any wrestling-related shows because I can tell when something is staged for money, not for authenticity or simply for the sake of wanting to fight. Yuichiro is a humble fighter. He is not the type of person to succumb to money or cash prizes. If he earns money due to his fighting skills, he will make sure that he gets it in a legal and respectable way.
This menace of a man could easily become a billionaire with the abilities and strength he has. And he won’t even need to truly fight to become one. He could have just shown up in the ring, and BAM! A million dollars would be in his pocket. But Yuichiro is a decent guy. Maybe it’s his muscles talking to me, but I find him charming. Let me clarify, I find him charming when he isn’t pummeling a grown man into the floor.
Strength And Skills

Raw Strength
Again, I have no idea how to describe the man that is Yuichiro Hanma. His strength is unfathomable. For instance, he, with only his raw power, threw the commander (who is a full-fledged adult man) at least a couple of meters in the air. Not only that, but the sheer force of that throw did not simply cease in the air.
When the commander of the US Navy fell, he crashed and pierced the wooden deck of the ship—specifically the Flagship of Iowa (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME35, CHAPTER 287: WITHOUT A BATTLESHIP).
Yuichiro defeated the Flagship of Iowa and its crew members by using only one technique—the Dress (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME 35; CHAPTER 288: THE GRANDSON OF THE STRONGEST).

Dress Technique
The Dress is a special skill that Yuichiro uses, and it is deadly. Basically, Yuichiro would start off by grabbing either his opponents’ ankles or wrists. Then he would proceed to spin them faster than any Beyblade top. It’s crazy.
Do you know what’s even more insane? Yuichiro can use his opponent, while he is doing the Dress attack, as a weapon. Yeah, a weapon.
Although the Dress is an Offense fighting style, it can be used for defense. How? Well, there really are not that many people who can intercept such a powerful and intense centrifugal force! He is swinging his victims as though they are nunchucks. Yuujiro even demonstrated the Dress technique on his own son (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME 35; CHAPTER 289: NONCHAKKU)!
Poor guy. Baki was spinning for about two and a half chapters! While Yuuijiro was attacking Baki with the Dress technique, the witnesses described the spectacle as Baki becoming semi-transparent (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME 35; CHAPTER 290: DRESS).

When Baki was flying in the air, all he could see was red. Everything was colored red. Because his loving father was swinging him like there was no tomorrow, the blood from the lower half of his body was rushing to his head.
When blood flows to your head, you get dizzy to the point where reality and subconsciousness blur. I would know because when I was young, I would hang upside down from cabinets. And because I was too scared to get down by myself, I would wait until I got so lightheaded that I’d just fall onto the floor.
I need to call my mom and remind her of that very fond memory. That’s such a hilarious memory. I can’t stop laughing. I was the stupidest kid on the block. Do me a favor, and just picture a tiny girl hanging from a tall shelf, and plopping onto the solid, sturdy ground.
Okay, enough about me. Let’s talk more about Yuichiro and his skills.
I will continue to refer to the Baki and Yuujiro battle as the best fight in regard to showing the Dress technique in different phases the victim will feel throughout the attack.

I noticed in one of the chapters that if the opponent has a smaller build or is shorter than the one performing the Dress attack, it plays in the attacker’s favor. There is a specific panel that shows the huge difference between Baki and his father in terms of height and physique (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME 35; CHAPTER 291: THE SHAPE OF POWER).
I’m sure you are wondering, did more than two thousand soldiers retreat from Baki’s grandfather? Well, it is because of the lightning-fast speed behind those powerful throws. There is not enough time for the opponent to prepare or defend themselves from the Dress technique.

Demon Face
Another special technique Yuichiro Hanma uses is the Demon Face. We touched on the Demon topic in the Appearance section of this blog—but only briefly. The Demon Face has other titles like Oni no Men and Demon Back. This special fighting skill is both an Offensive and Defensive technique.
The Demon Face is solely used by the Hanma bloodline, so as of late in the Baki the Grappler series, there are only three uses that can perform the Demon Face. Obviously, Yuchiro Hanma can use it, and also his son and grandson: Baki and Yujiro Hanma.
The Demon Back is technically done when the user flexes the muscles on their back, and by doing so, they form a demon face with their flexed muscles.
But why though? What’s the benefit of creating the Demon Face on one’s back? Is it just for show? No, it is not for entertainment purposes. Once the user creates the Demon Face, everything about them enhances. Their speed, stamina, strength, and grit increase.

There are so many benefits to this technique, it is amazing. At some point in the technique, you can cease taking damage from your opponent. I know! That’s so cool! It’s sort of like this absorbing sponge technique where you take in the damage and regurgitate it back with an even greater force. And you won’t even get hurt in the process (again, at some point in the attack).
The most I can do is a crooked handstand, and maybe sitting up straight. I really need to fix my posture. Thanks for reminding everyone.
The Demon Back and the Dress technique are the two prime skills you should know about Yuiichiro Hanma. There is a table down below that explains all the other skills Yuichiro has.

Other Skills
I dare you to fight me in the Awesomeness category. Yeah, he looks cynical, he had us all fooled. But he’s chill. At least we didn’t end up talking about his son Yuijiro. Otherwise, I would have crushed my keyboard.
I can handle only so much muscle for one day. No, I’m not saying Yuijiro is stronger than his father. But I have to consider Yuijiro’s muscle brain when comparing them.
Thank God this Baki Character Wiki is about Baki’s Grandfather.

Facts
- He defeated the United States Navy (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME 35; CHAPTER 286: YUICHIRO).
- He made more than 2000 US soldiers jump off of the ship he was on. And this wasn’t Yuichiro’s ship. This was a US Navy ship! (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME 35; CHAPTER 287: WITHOUT A BATTLESHIP)
- We don’t know anything about the origin of Yuichiro’s strength. I mean, this is not an ordinary human being. Where does he get these superhuman powers? It’s just not logical or biologically sound. It’s also not fair if I’m being perfectly honest.
- He is considered to be a true monster (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME 35; CHAPTER 286: YUICHIRO).
- The ship Yuichiro attacked was the Flagship of Iowa. This was not just any ship. The US spent a lot of time and money in creating this battleship. (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME 35; CHAPTER 288: THE GRANDSON OF THE STRONGEST)
- Yuichiro is most likely the greatest fighter of all time. I might be biased because I have done so much research on him, but you can not argue that he is phenomenal. Wait. He is more of a phenomenon rather than a human being who is phenomenal. Is he even human?

Past/Background

The commander that Yuichiro destroyed is named Major General James. He requested if he could use nuclear weapons against Baki’s Grandfather. Yuichiro’s strength simply could not be rivaled. The US navy aimed a one thousand ton of ammo at Yuichiro. Whenever people hear this story, they assume that the ammo was for the Japanese troop, but thankfully it was aimed at Yuichiro (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME.35, CHAPTER 286 : YUICHIRO).
Yuichiro was bombarded left and right. The bombs and missiles were thrown from the sea and the sea. I’ll make this easier for you. If you sum all the power, weapons, and attacks the US navy threw at Yuichiro, it would be enough to change the shape of an entire island (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOLUME 35, CHAPTER 286: YUICHIRO).
But Yuichiro is Yuichiro. The US’s effort was in vain. With each of Yuichiro’s throws, he would create at least two or three casualties. What was he throwing? US soldiers.

Baki Gaide- Kenjin
Yuichiro decided not to properly fight Rikigouzan, who is a pro wrestler. This did not make Doppo Orochi happy. Doppo is known as the Tiger Slayer or the Man Eater Orochi. He’s the head of the Karate School as well the 10th grand karate master—so he’s definitely got one heck of a resume. Doppa knew that Yuichiro did not give it his all in this fight. But why? Doppa even went as far as insinuating that Yuichiro shamed the honor of Japan’s martial arts—which was not a good idea.
You do not imply anything to a man of that caliber. I am not kidding. If you don’t believe me, then I suggest you reread my Appearance description of Yuichiro’s Character Wiki. Although Yuichiro did appreciate Doppa’s acknowledgment of his abilities, he did not refrain from getting physical with him. Don’t worry, Doppa Orochi did not die at the hands of Grandfather Hanma. In the end, Yuichiro stated that he will sort everything out with the Rikigouzan battle.
Why did Yuichiro even lose in the first place? Read to find out!

Strongest Father and Child Fight Section
(SPOILER ALERT) Yuichiro shows up in the fight between his son and grandson as a ghost if you will. Even when he is dead, he still manages to haunt us. I have said this before, and I will continue to say it again, Yuichiro does not want his son to win. He wants his grandson to become stronger than his devil spawn of a child.
Despite him being present only supernaturally, his mere presence was enough to have Pickle shaking in his shoes.
His death is not explicitly stated in the manga. However, that has not stopped the fandom from conspiring. Some say he died a natural death. Others say he committed (TRIGGER WARNING: SELF HARM) suicide. There are people that actually believe Yuijiro killed him.
I don’t think the last one is true. Maybe not physically though. Yujiro gets my blood pressure rising, and I’m not even his parent. The first reason seems more realistic. If cannons, missiles, and diseases can’t hurt Yuichiro, what can? The only possible explanation is he died of old age.
Relationships

Yuichiro's Wife
Truth be told, we don’t know Yuijiro’s mother. She only had one child with Yuichiro. We see her in the manga upset over Yuijiro. I mean, what did you expect? Who would be happy to raise such a monstrous child? I know I wouldn’t. It is tough raising a kid, especially one as feisty and relentless as Yuijiro.
After she gave birth to Yuijiro, she, later on, became a monk.

Yuijiro Hanma
Yuichiro is the Father of Yuijiro. The dynamic between the two is similar to Yuijiro and his own son, Baki. Yuijiro wanted to defeat his father so badly. (SPOILER ALERT): But in the end, that never happened because of Yuichiro dying.
Whenever other characters in the Baki series compare these two, they always say how Yuichiro is a much better man than Yuijiro.
Might I remind you (SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE MANGA) Yuijiro did murder Baki’s mother.
This might seem a bit off topic, but the reason why Yuijiro is so hard on Baki is because Baki reminds him a lot of his father. That is why he is so brutal to Baki. It’s unfair.

Baki Hanma
Like the title suggests, Yuichiro is Jack’s and Baki’s grandfather. He supported Baki when he was fighting with his father, Yuijiro Hanma.
Remember how I said Baki is similar to Yuichiro while I was discussing the relationship between Yuichiro and his son? Yeah, well let’s dive a little into that.
Baki is both kind and understanding, unlike his father, but instead like his grandfather. They are both calm and easygoing. They know how to dissect a battle. For example, when Baki was fighting his father, he remained calm despite being attacked with the Dress technique. He managed to stay clear of the sharp and pointy debris that surrounded him (BAKI: HANMA BAKI, VOL.35, CHAPTER 292 : FOUNDATION OF TRUST).

He was level headed in this intense battle, just like how his grandfather would have been. Would you have wanted Baki to become like his father? Or do you think it is better that he is similar to his grandfather?
Before you answer these questions, don’t think about them too one dimensionally. Think about it in terms of personality, strength, skills, ability, and battle analysis.

Conclusion

Is it really over? Are you serious? Unfortunately, I am. This Baki Character Wiki of Yuichiro Hanma is coming to an end. If any of you are interested in more blogs about the entire Baki franchise, then send us a message or post a comment down below.
Overall, I get weirdly good vibes from Yuichiro Hanma. Yeah, I am surprised too. I am not a fan of huge, colossal men, but this guy passes the test. If he didn’t, he would for sure rip me to pieces. But that’s fine I guess because I tear myself apart on a daily basis.

Anyway, I wanted to point out a few things about Yuichiro’s Wiki. (SPOILER ALERT) I specifically avoided the topic of his death, especially in the Plot and History portion because I am well aware of how spoiling sucks. It is not fun to hear about future characters’ living status before you watch or read it. I even tried not to talk about how Yuichiro appeared in his Son vs Grandson brawl.
I want you to experience that yourselves first hand. You won’t regret it, I promise. Sure, it will take two hundred and eighty-six chapters, give or take, but it is worth it. Plus, who is counting? Not me!

Upon the looks it yuchiro is a laidback guy they must have done some wrong …. he only appears in the situation like that in baki….
Yuichiro is probably my favorite character in Baki even though there are somethings unknown about him. He reminds me of myself as far personality and I’m strong physically and I’m ripped but know as much as him. I also think every thing about him unique, and that’s what I like most about him.
Yuicihiro is a different being on his own!
