A lot of us mistakenly compare Code: Geass to Death Note, thinking that both anime are very similar. But the difference between them cannot be greater. The fundamental values that each one is trying to share are unique and come from rooted psychological beliefs that the main characters are upholding throughout the story. Some of those beliefs grew due to past traumas where others are just the consequences of the rotten society we live in. To support my theory, we will talk about each aspect of both anime separately. When I say aspects, I mean the Main Characters’ respective powers, their personalities, and the goal they are trying to achieve. We’ll finish by debating which one is better than the other. Please keep in mind that this is my personal opinion on the matter. Major Spoilers Ahead! Goals - Different Ideals Code Geass vs Death Note Conclusion Code: Geass - A Must-Watch Series for Anime Fans Code: Geass is set in an alternative world where the only superpower is the Britannian Empire. Diplomatic conflicts with Japan over their natural resources pushed the Empire to declare war on the small country. Using a new weapon called Nightmare’s, they started their attack. The Japanese didn’t stand a chance and became yet another Britanian territory. The Japanese had to forfeit their rights, their dignity, and even their identity. Area 11 was the name given to Japan after its defeat and its inhabitants were renamed Elevens. Now considered a lower race, the Elevens are discriminated against and live in constant fear. But even after the Japanese themselves lost all hope, one young Britanian still had the ambition to destroy the great Empire. That boy’s name is Lelouch Lamperouge. From the outside, he is nothing more than an ordinary student attending Ashford Academy but his true identity is that of a Britanian prince, Lelouch Vi Britanian. A prince who swore to take revenge on his father, the Emperor, after failing to protect his mother from a terrorist attack that also led his younger sister, Nanally, to lose her ability to walk and see. After the incident, Charles, the Emperor, unable to tolerate weakness, decided to trade Lelouch and Nunnally as diplomatic hostages to the Elevens. Many years later, when the boy became a man, he got caught up in a terrorist attack in Shinjuku where he met a girl named CC. Trying to escape the area that turned into a war zone, the two of them finally got cornered and were going to meet their death. CC was shot and with her last dying breath, she grants Lelouch the power of Geass, the power of the Gods. The Geass given to Lelouch offers him the ability to impose one order on any person. Using his extraordinary intelligence and his newfound power, Lelouch starts executing his plan to extinguish Britannia by taking the alias Zero, a terrorist and leader of the Black Nights. Death Note - A Badass Series for Intellectuals Death note is set in a realistic world, in our world. A world filled with criminals, corruption, and injustice. In that unfair world lives an A student named Light Yagami. Considered a genius, his deductive skills, and his intelligence are off the charts. Turns out that Light is also an idealist with a delusion of grandeur and a God complex. He wishes for a world free of criminals, a Utopia ruled by one God, him. A dream completely out of reach until he happens to pick up a notebook that he saw falling for the sky. That notebook was actually a Death Note dropped on purpose by the Shinigami Ryuk into the human world. Now in the possession of Light, he discovers that the Death Note has real powers and starts learning how to use it. The conditions of use are simple, you have to know the real name and the face of your target and write that name in the Death Note. Within 40 seconds, if the details of the death are not specified, the person in question will die of a heart attack. This is where the purge begins. Killing criminals after criminals the public and authorities realized that a higher power, an inexplicable power is killing every bad individual. They ended up giving him the name “Kira” meaning killer. Now on the police’s radar, Light is facing an incredible enemy, a mysterious detective named L whose intelligence rivals his. Living a double life, Light has to fool his father who is chief of the police, and L who is already suspecting him to keep moving forward. Powers in Death Note and Code: Geass Both main character’s powers have the ability to kill although Lights’ power is much more limited than Lelouche’s making him face more difficult obstacles and still thriving as if his supremacy was absolute. Light can only define the actions that his targets have to undergo just before their death or just kill them. His only obligation before doing so is to know the name and face of the target so that people who share the same name will not be affected. When those conditions have been met the target can no longer escape him. Lelouch on the other hand has the option to keep his targets alive and use them even in the long-term. He also has the option of using it on himself if necessary. His only constraint is that he has to see his target directly without even the interference of glasses and he can use Geass on a person only once so he has to use it very wisely. Once Geass has been cast the target no longer has the freedom to refuse him. Each skill has its own perks and drawbacks, and each hero learned how to adapt to use each ability to their full potential. Light even discovered ways to use the Death Note that even the Shinigamies didn’t know about. Furthermore, both main characters believe that their intelligence is also a powerful weapon, maybe even as powerful as their ability which is not wrong at all. Lights IQ is 211 and Lelouches is 210, all their plans are carefully studied, some of them didn’t even need the use of their special ability and both of them would have been Game Over pretty fast, despite their powers, if they were not as intelligent and resourceful as they are. So when it comes to the Main character’s respective gifts and overall strength, they are very similar indeed. you might also like this: yellow point arrow 31+ BEST Anime Girls with Green Hair Green-haired girls are rare-breed in anime, but if we pay enough attention, we can find at least one character with such hair in almost every anime. Anime series are famous for characters with crazy hair colors and that's one of the reasons we all love anime and try to copy them. Green in an exceptionally beautiful color and how it is made a part of the character's self through their hair color is definitely worth discussing! Here is the list of girls from different anime series who possess such infrequent yet beautiful hair color. 1-Minami Iwasaki from lucky Star The first one on our list is Minami Iwasaki from the anime 'Lucky star', aired in 2007. Appearance-wise, Minami is a 15-year-old girl with an under-developed child-like body. She has short green hair and a long fringe over her forehead, reaching almost her sharp ocean-blue eyes. Because of her distant expressions and less use of speech, she is often mistaken as a cold-hearted person but is actually the opposite of that. She is often seen with a poker face, and it is hard to tell what she is feeling at the moment. In an outfit, she is often seen wearing her school uniform, consisting of a white shirt and red skirt along with red collars. She is one of the main characters, and this was one of the reasons why she is at the beginning of our list! 2-Suu from Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou This one anime girl is truly one of her kind! Even though what rests on top of her head can hardly be characterized as hair, but it's green! She is a slime by species from the anime Musume no Iru Nichijou. Her whole body is made up of blue gelatinous slime with a mop of greenish slime-like hair on her head. Because of her body's nature, she can easily change the shape and size of her body, hence can become bouncier, taller, or curvier than usual! 3-Tatsumaki from One punch man One punch is a name you must've heard if you're an Otaku. Tatsumaki is an utterly attractive woman with a small but attractive body from this famous anime. She is known by her title ' Tornado of Terror'. She has curly green hair, every strand of which rises and curls upward. She has matching green eyes and often wears distant expressions on her face. Despite being in her late 20's, she still looks way younger than her age. Her appearance not only helps her seem prettier and more youthful but also gives off the idea of her powerful personality. She is one of the most powerful characters of the anime. 4-Evergreen from Fairy tail This one is personally my all-time favorite anime. It contains a wide range and variety of characters so it was kind of expected for one or two green-haired girls from Fairy-tail to be included in this list. Bisca Mulan (later becomes Bisca Connel) is a member of the main guild Fairy Tail. She is a mage by profession, just like her husband, and has light greenish-colored straight hair with one side of her forehead covered with straight bangs. She is often seen wearing a hat over her head, and the rest of the outfit is very revealing and sexy as well. 5-Tsubomi Kido from Mekakucity Actors Tsubomi is a dope character from the anime Mekakucity Actors and has a very cool appearance with long straight green hair and spiky bangs. She often keeps her head covered with a light purple hoodie and has distant-looking red eyes, but in actuality, she has a kind nature. She is more of a mature person but can be mistaken as someone frightening because of the dark expressions she wears. Because of her tomboyish look, she is often mistaken for a boy, but she actually has a pretty face if observed closely. 6-Michiru Kaiou from Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S Sailor Moon, a very popular anime with a beautiful and unique art style. Michiru Kaiou, also known as Sailor Neptune, is one of them with her beautiful shiny green hair and a blue ribbon tied at the back of her head. She is the lead character and is portrayed as a Japanese schoolgirl. She also has contrasting green eyes, as well as the rest of her outfit, contain green in it. She is one of the most suitable characters for this list as her green hair stands out among the group of other pretty Sailor Soldiers. 7-Alpha Hatsuseno from Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou Alpha is the main character of the anime Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou and has medium-sized green hair that she keeps tied in a ponytail with a pink ribbon. She doesn't really have a very pretty face and wears ordinary clothes but what has won her friends as well as the viewers' hearts is not her physical beauty but her kind nature. She is probably one of the only few lead characters that have green hair. Personality-wise, she is very sweet and cheerful. Even though she has a very simple nature and an ordinary-looking face, she has a lean body that looks good when she wears nice clothes. 8-Yotsugi Ononoki from Nisemonogatari Yotsugi is an expressionless girl, and the color of her hair is very noticeable. It's a very pretty shade of bluish green, much lighter than her dark green eyes. She is a 12 years old young girl and often puts her turquoise hair in twin tails, giving off cute vibes. The direction of her brows is pointed downward, making her look like she is mad at something but is actually very expressionless at most of the events. She discovers more about herself and her personality as the anime proceeds. 9-Ranka Lee from Macross F She is one of the main characters of the anime series Macross and is known as the little queen. Just like her title name, she has a small body and short green hair that gives an impression as if they are tied in twin tails. Personality-wise she is a very lively and happy-go-lucky girl and dreams to be an idol singer. She often stays motivated and thinks that the future will bring good things to her, but she is actually suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome and would often break down. 10-Alice Carroll from Aria, the animation Alice is one of the typically beautiful-looking characters with her extremely long sleek straight green hair with bangs. She is often seen wearing a white hat on top of her head, matching her outfit, which comprises a long white dress with the golden pattern drawn on it. At the start of the anime, she was more of an introverted and antisocial person but just like other character development in various anime series, and her personality develops more confidence as the anime proceeds. 13-Asa Shigure from Shuffle Asa Shigure is the main character of the anime shuffle and has grassy green hair that hardly reaches her shoulder and is often seen with a ribbon tied on one side. Despite having a little bit of tomboy nature, she has excellent cooking skills. With a not-so-strong-looking body, she surprisingly has a very energetic personality. She is often seen in her short uniform that comprises a white shirt and a white skirt with brown lace embellishing the bottom. She also wears a brown base coat over it with a light brown, almost yellowish bow along with the long black socks. The most prominent feature on her face is her big eyes that appear blue and sometimes violet, and her nose and lips are almost unnoticeable. 14-Nelliel Tu Odershvanke from Bleach Nelliel, also known as Nel Tul, is a badass-looking girl with long sleek green hair and a bull skull residing on top of her head. She has a crimson line across her nose, just below her hazel eyes. She has been an extremely bold person ever since she was young, throwing a lot of bizarre phrases that nobody would expect a kid to know. There is a large 3 number tattooed on her back, indicating her being the former 3rd Espada. She is designed with heavy breasts and tanned skin that makes her pale green, almost turquoise hair more noticeably charming. Another noticeable feature on her face is her eyes that are of pale green color, much lighter than the color of her eyes. The crimson line underneath really highlights her beautiful eyes more. 15-Shion Sonozaki from higurashi no Naku Koro ni Shion, having the nickname Shii-chan, is an ordinary-looking girl from the series Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. She is one of the main characters with straight green hair and matching green eyes. Despite her looking cute and girly, she is more of a delinquent and cunning person. She enjoys teasing Mion, her sister, by taking control of Keiichi, the main protagonist. In normal circumstances, she looks really cute with her innocent clueless face and deep, shiny green eyes, but all of this innocent image washes off when she gets in her insane mood. Ordinary, she is seen wearing her school uniform like most of the other anime characters from the high school genre. Her uniform consists of a white shirt and blue skirt with blue and white stripes. 16-C.C from Code Geass She is not the lead character or the character with frequent entries, but she is definitely a powerful one. She is known by a lot of nicknames like Immortal Witch, Pizza girl, or Zero's mistress. She has long hair, green in color, that almost reaches down her waist. She is of average height and has a scar under her left boob. She has glossy greenish eyes that make her look like she is about to cry. She is seen wearing a really fancy and complicated dress. One of her dresses comprises a short dress with a long tail at the back. Her legs from the front are exposed with long white socks and black shoes. 17-Lena Lee fromD.Gray-Man Lena Lee is a 16 years old tall and fair-skinned girl with a very innocent face and dark green hair that is often seen tied in ponytails with a red ribbon. She is an exorcist by occupation and a human by species. Her hair is often described as beautiful, and the character was very fond of her. That's why in most of the anime, she kept it long. But for a mission, she had to burn her hair, leaving them as short as a boy's hair. Appearance-wise she is often seen as wearing long sleeves but would always keep her legs bare. Lena Lee is a very kind girl who has a very loving heart for her friends and family. 18-Akeno Shiranui from Akeno's a sword-woman Akeno Shiranui is a mermaid as well as a mermaid examiner. Appearance-wise she is a young teenage girl with bright skin and, of course, dark green hair with bangs. She also possesses a pair of green eyes. In the beginning, this character was seen rather as someone rude or hostile, especially towards other protagonists, but later on, she develops close bonding with them. She is often seen in her school uniform with red square collars and ties. 19-Inchou (class president) Even though this green-haired character is known by the name Inchou, but it's not her real name! It's what her classmates call her. She has short green hair with spiky bangs. She ties her hair in small twin tails. She wears really big round glasses that almost cover her whole face. Through the glasses, you can see her glossy greenish eyes. She is seen wearing her school uniform that comprises of white shirt and skirt with red ribbon embedded on it. She looks innocent with the pitiful expressions that she wears most of the time. 20-Flora Klemm from Asterisk War This ten years old girl is a genestellar from the anime Asterisk War and can be described as a cute and naive girl. Flora has very attractive looks with her medium-length green hair and striking green eyes. In an outfit, this young girl wears a maid outfit in red and white color. Just like her name, she is really cheerful and colorful as a flower. She has turquoise-colored big eyes, a very unnoticeable nose, and thin lips that always have a smile on them. She has a very shrill voice in anime series. Her maiden outfit consists of a red dress with a white apron and maroon ribbon. 21-Mashiro Kuma from Soul Society Mashiro has a very cool appearance with hazel-colored eyes and green hair with goggles set in them. She often wears a white bodysuit with the touch of orange in it. Personality-wise she is very immature and childish, completely opposite to how she looks. She has the habit of throwing tantrums on small things. The hair sometimes appears to look really straight, while sometimes you can see waves in them. Her eyes are really innocent-looking, making her look like she is curious most of the time. She has a really short height, almost 153cm, and is 44 kg. 22-Arania Web from Fairy tail A lot of Fairy tail watchers might not remember this specific character since she appeared only in a few episodes. Arania is a member of the Mermaid Heels guild that appeared in the Grand Magic games and has pale green hair tied in a unique hairstyle. With that, she also possesses a pair of slanted green eyes and thin pink lips. She is often seen wearing a tight bodysuit with a spider print on it, displaying her good figure. Unlike her looks, she is rather a laid-back mage and is often seen in a teasing or flirting mood as she was seen greeting the audience in the Grand magic games with a kiss. 23-Kayano Kaede from Assassination classroom This character was previously known as Yukimura Akari, a student of class 3-c in Kunugigaoka Junior Highschool. Kayano Kaede has turquoise-colored short hair with heavy bangs and two big cowlicks on either side of her head, giving her hair a fuller look. Look-wise, she is a small, petite girl whose body is not as womanly developed as the rest of the students, causing her to have a nickname called 'Forever flat'. She is a kind and cheerful girl, as her face reflects her personality, but she is also a very determined person. In her outfit, she wears the school uniform that consists of a white shirt along with a grey blazer and skirt. 24-Tsuyu Asui from My Hero Academia Tsuyu is a freaky-looking small girl with big creepy eyes. She is a student in class 1-A in U.A highschool. Just like her appearance, she has a very blunt and straight-forward personality and doesn't hesitate to speak her mind out to others without the filter. She has long, straight green hair with bangs that are heavy in the middle of her forehead. She has a very wide mouth which makes her look different from other human beings. Apart from that, she is often seen hopping on all her four limbs, imitating a frog. She has droopy eyes, probably because of her prominent lower eyelashes. She is seen wearing a white shirt with a red tie and grey skirt and blazer in uniform. 25- Hisui E Fiore from Fairy tail She is another character from the anime Fairy tail and appeared in the later seasons. She is the daughter of the former king Toma E Fiore, hence a princess. Hisui is a pale and slim girl with wavy green hair that reached the middle of her back. She has a fringe that is heavier in the middle of her forehead, under the beard's crown she wears. She is also seen wearing jewelry on her arms and legs, making her look posh and beautiful. She has dark green eyes and long prominent eyelashes and wears revealing clothes, especially her cleavage part. Naturewise, she is very kind and thoughtful, but she can be strict when needed. She is also a very intelligent person, as she was shown as the mastermind behind the Eclipse project. 26-Envy from FullMetal Alchemist Where it is hard to guess rather Envy is a girl or a boy, but this 175 years old genderless character resembles a girl due to the way she dresses. She is often seen wearing a skin-tight black crop top, exposing her flat abdomen and a pencil skirt with huge slits on both sides and shorts underneath. She has long green hair that is glued together almost like a few big and thick hair strands, and she wears a headband on her forehead, but that seemed to be put there just for the sake of fashion because her face is always covered with her hair. She has mean-looking eyes with small pupils, much smaller than the typical anime characters who are famous for their big eyes. By race, she is not a human but a homunculus and likes to make humans suffer. The creatures of her kind are commonly not very clever. Due to their immense ego, they can easily be offended by mere words and that can lead them to take reckless actions. 27-Kyouka from Fairy tail Another character from the fairy tail that doesn't appear in the entire series up until the second last season. She is a smug-looking lady from the dark guild Tartaros. Fairy Tail is famous for producing unique characters. Kyouka is one of them with her distant looks. She is half human and half aviary and has scales drawn over her forehead. She has long, straight green hair pushed back from her face along with two thick strands on either side of her head in the shape of fins. Right under those weird-looking strands, she has ears that resemble elves. Other times she is seen wearing a helmet-looking thing with a purple ball in the center and two long ears-like things coming out from either side of her head. She wears a very revealing outfit, sometimes a tight bodysuit that exposes her arms and thick thighs, and other times, she is seen wearing a short dress with only straps covering her big bursts. Like other villains in the anime series fairy tail, Kyouka is determined to make her guilt meet their goals and has a very sadistic nature when it comes to her enemies. 28-Ritsuko Kunihiro from Shiki The name Ritsuko comprises two words, Ritsu means 'To regulate, law' and ko means 'child'. A very innocent and sweet-looking character from the anime series Shiki, Ritsuko is a nurse at the Ozaki clinic and often seen wearing a simple, white nurse uniform with a nurse cap and a pale green bow tied at her neck. When she is not in her uniform, she is seen wearing a long white dress with black heels and stockings and a blue blazer on top. She has a very slender and long figure with noticeable breasts and long thin legs. She has very long green hair in an extremely beautiful texture that reaches up to her back but an oddly cursed style. Just like her face reflects, she is a very kind girl who cares for everyone and always volunteers to help people in need. She is also very kind and friendly towards her co-workers and has a very good relationship with the people she is close to. 29-Mion Sonozaki from Higurashi: When they cry This small girl is the main character of the anime Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and also has a twin sister called Sonozaki Shion. She has very shiny and straight pale green-colored hair with straight bangs and a yellow ribbon tied in her hair at the back of her head. Even though she might look very innocent with her big blue eyes and small lips, in reality, she has a very mischievous nature and is well known for teasing nature. Even though she appeared girly, she is extremely clever up to the point where she can observe her surroundings and the people very carefully and manipulate them, however, she likes. She has a petite-looking body with big breasts. In an outfit, she is often seen wearing her school uniform that comprises a white shirt and dark blue skirt along with a long red necktie and a grey blazer with the school's monogram on the sleeve. She also wears school shoes with long black socks that reach almost up to her knees. She uses a Stun gun as her weapon. 30-Marielle from Log Horizon Marielle, also known as Maryeleis the guild master of Crescent Moon Alliance. She is very friendly in nature and has a cheerful vibe emitted from her. She has very long and thick green hair that is wavy in texture. The color could be confused between blonde to pond algae green, but it looks absolutely beautiful on her. She is a fair woman of tall built with big fair breasts that are exposed through her deep-cut neck. She has an oval face with a small nose and lips and greenish eyes, just like her hair. Apart from that, the noticeable feature about her is her elf-like ears, poking out from between her elegant hair. She changes her dress frequently and wears really detailed clothes. One of her outfits is her wearing a dress with black shorts and a green overcoat, exposing her mid-thighs while she wears orange boots that reach up to her mid-thighs and other times, she is seen wearing a blue dress with white fur underneath along with a white cloak. 31-Chika Hakozaki from Hyperdimension Neptunia. Chika is a stylish-looking pretty girl with a slender body. She has very pale skin that stands out with the usual black mini dress that she wears. Her outfit comprises of black dress with large slits on either side and a train at the black with green colored cloth underneath. She also wears black shoes with high socks that cover her knees and extend up to her mid-thighs. She has beautifully curved, long pale green colors that reach almost up to her hips. She has a large, black-colored with green lines and a four-petal flower-shaped bow tied on her head in her ponytail. In her black dress, there is a hint of purple in her neck bow and the bow-tied in her shoes. This character of the anime is especially obsessed with Vert, the goddess of the series. Chika thinks of her as her elder sister and would do anything to get her attention. She would often pretend to be sick to get Vert looking after her or would bring video games for Vert to play. These little tricks show her sinister and mischievous nature. That's the only prominent thing about her personality. She is a very cheerful girl but can be serious when required. 32- Quetzalcoatl from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Quetzalcoatl is also known as Lucoa is a supporting character of the anime series Kobayashi-san Chi no maid dragon and the main protagonist of Kobayashi-san chi no maid dragon: Lucoa wa Boku no xx desu. She is a former dragon goddess. In appearance, she is a tall, fair-skinned woman with an hourglass figure. She also has heavy breasts that are drawn noticeably big. She has long, wavy blonde hair, but the green died at the end of the beautiful strands stands out equally. Another noticeable feature about her face is her dual-colored eyes. One iris is of yellow color on the inside, surrounded by the green/ blue thick ring, the yellow color is just like half of her hair, and the other is of pale green, exactly like the end of her strands. Due to her inhuman race, she also possesses a tail and horns, but she kept her tail hidden or hasn't retained it. She was initially seen with a pink hat that had holes in it for the horns to be taken out. Apart from her looks, she is actually a very care-free and laid-back kind of person and always roams around with a constant smile plastered on her face. She is very wise and generous and always offers advice to younger kids. She also appears to be very flirtatious when she likes someone and tries to initiate sexual interaction with them. The reason she is a former goddess is that she was betrayed by her friend who gave her cursed liquor that made her fall into a scandalous affair with her sister. In her outfit, she is seen wearing a black crop top that exposes her large breast and her stomach and very short shorts that barely reach her mid-thighs. Along with that, she wears black socks that reach up to her shorts, covering her legs, and colorful sneakers. 29+ ATTRACTIVE Anime Girls With Green Hair [HQ Images] No Comments Last Updated on March 26, 2021 by saaddhillonGreen-haired girls are rare-breed in anime, but if we pay enough attention, we can find at least one Read More » Personalities - What sets the two MCs apart? Now for their personalities, it is true that both characters have a god complex and an inflated ego. They are viewed as Anti Heroes and want to reform the world the way they want. The major difference here is why are they doing it. And the why is directly related to their personalities. In Lights’ case, he personally rejects the way things work and took it upon himself to reconstruct the world free of criminals. He wants to build his own utopia where he will rule as a God. In general, he is doing a favor to the world but it comes from a place of selfishness to satisfy his own ambitions. To achieve his goals he is ready to sacrifice everyone around him even if they were family, dear friends, or innocent people and that act turned him into the very people he was trying to eradicate. On the other hand what Lelouch wants is a world deprived of inequality, a world where the weak and the strong have the same opportunities. He never intended to rule over the new world that he was creating, he wanted to prove that the weak are not to be trampled upon by putting his crippled sister in a position of power. He wanted to create a world where she would not have to suffer. He made sacrifices, cruel choices and was labeled as a villain but would always draw the line when the lives of his loved ones would be in jeopardy. He did what he did in the name of love and not for himself even if everything started only for the sake of his sister, he will end up having a change of heart after realizing how many people are now depending on him. Goals - Different Ideals As for their respective goals, they are also very different. Light intended to keep on killing every single criminal until he completely eradicated crime. The logic behind his action is that if people know that something or someone is killing wrongdoers all over the world and they have no way of defending themselves they will be too scared to dare commit any kind of crime no matter how puny. Not even a week after Kira had officially acknowledged the crime rates in every country dropped considerably so his plan worked perfectly. However, Lelouch wanted to destroy the current world and create a new one. A world where the resources were not used to fund new weapons or wars but were used to solve hunger and poverty. For this he deviated all the hatred of the world unto himself so when he would die the world would finally be freed of that vicious circle and start moving forward to the future. Everything went according to plan as expected. Now the styles of both anime are very different, Death Note goes beyond the concept of good and evil, it’s very psychological and forces you to reflect on yourself while trying to deduce if Light became a real Villain or is still on the side of justice. There is not much action, it’s more of a game of deduction between two great minds trying to corner each other. The ingenuity that Light and L will demonstrate will keep you on your toes and surprise you when you least expect it. Code Geass vs Death Note Code Geass is more on the Heroic side offering great battles, duals, and excitement. It will feel like each side is playing chess and the board is the entire world. It also has a comical side since Lelouch has absolutely no physical abilities and his friends tend to take advantage of that fact. As the storyline is very different and the overall mood of these anime are also incomparable since one is on the brooding side and the other much more cheerful, to determine which one is better I will focus on each anime’s second seasons. You all know that it is very difficult to pass to season 2 while keeping the same level of quality, interest and excitement felt in season 1. The biggest challenge for any manga is to make Season 2 as good or maybe even better than season 1. Well sorry to disappoint but both anime failed that test, however one crashed harder than the other and it would be Death Note. In Death Note, they killed off the most loved and interesting character L, and introduced new enemies that just didn’t meet expectations. They were unable to replace the charisma of L even less to fill the gap left by his death. The chemistry felt between Light and L and the fact that they were working together is what made the first part so exciting since the faintest slip-up would ruin everything and that was something that disappeared entirely afterward making the second part kind of boring. Also, Light becomes a bit psychologically unstable and is regarded more as troubled than the unstoppable genius he previously was. As for the second season of Code Geass, it was just not as well polished as Season 1. You just don’t get the same satisfaction felt before. Too many new characters were introduced stealing the spotlight from much more interesting ones. The plot suddenly became a bit expected but they still did a good job by making us want to come back despite the shortcomings. The mystery of Zero’s Identity was also gone at this point and no surprises were to follow, it was just the unfolding of a plan. However, the ending saved the Second Season since it didn’t follow your typical cliché. And also revealed a continuation that all the fans were looking forward to. In terms of ingenuity, deductive skills, and battles of wits, Death Note is one step ahead of Code Geass, by offering much more interesting strategies and more elaborate plans and tactics. The development of the story is way less predictable and surprises you in each episode. I would say that fans of detective work and investigations will enjoy watching Death Note more than Code Geass, which focuses on physical battles and wars between armies. For fans of action, anime Code Geass would be the right choice. Conclusion We established that those two anime don’t really have much in common, but determining which one is better will actually depend on your own personality and taste. Both anime can be considered masterpieces but following the general opinion, Death Note is still way more popular than Code Geass and is considered by many people the best anime. However, that may be the case because it was a very popular manga before getting an anime while Code Geass wasn’t based on one. So it can be considered a real achievement for Code Geass to be compared to that Iconic anime. Death Note is also actually considered the perfect anime for beginners, an anime that will surely get you hooked. I would personally recommend Code Geass since I enjoyed it more and because of the recent movie that was released that was really well made. There is also a side story available called Akihito the Exile that is not bad at all for a side story with completely new characters. Check out our Instagram! Share... Re: Zero Although, Re: Zero does not have a bunch of delinquents with some nasty tempers, the one thing that both Tokyo Revengers and Re: Zero share in common is the ability to travel back in time to save their loved ones. Re: Zero revolves around Natsuki Subaru who got hit by our famous Truck-kun and was issekai’d to a completely different world. As soon as he gets to the new world, he meets a silver-haired half-elf, Emilia, and gets killed while saving her. He finds himself alive again after a few hours just to die again. After experiencing death a few times, he realizes he has this mysterious power to return back to life and turn back time whenever he dies. He finally succeeds in helping her and out of gratitude, Emilia takes him to her palace and lets him stay there as a butler. Subaru slowly develops feelings for Emilia and decides that he’d help her become the next Queen no matter what. However, his journey is full of pain and suffering as he comes across a lot of deadly villains that are after Emilia. Now, will Subaru overcome all the suffering while having a bunch of good companions by his side and be able to make Emilia’s wish come true? 11. Charlotte Just like Tokyo Revengers, Charlotte also involves the theme of time traveling. It also involves some High School stuff going on just like Tokyo Revengers. So, if you liked Tokyo Revengers, you’re definitely going to love watching Charlotte, too! Charlotte follows the story of some pre adolescent kids who start developing superhuman powers when a mysterious comet named Charlotte passes by Earth. Yuu Otosaka is our MC who develops the power of possessing anyone’s body for five seconds and wants to use it to live his school life as carefree as he can. However, he’s exposed by a girl named Nao Tomori. She forces him to transfer to the Houshinoumi Academy where the rest of the kids with superhuman powers are. Together, they search for their destiny as power wielders. 10. Black Lagoon Black Lagoon is an action-oriented anime with a bunch of delinquents/yakuza just like Tokyo Revengers. However, the yakuza in Black Lagoon are definitely on a whole other level of badass. So, if you’re into some action-filled anime, we definitely recommend you to watch this one! Black Lagoon tells us the story of Rokuro Okajima who’s an ordinary salaryman, carrying some important documents for the company. The ship he’s traveling in gets attacked by the pirates. He’s kidnapped by the mercenaries but his top priority is to keep the documents safe. He soon notices that the pirates are quite friendly and mean no harm to him. Now, with his life as a corporate slave ruined, he wishes to join the group of pirates and travel with them throughout the South China Sea. 9. ReLife ReLife features the concept of time traveling along with some lovey-dovey concept that is quite similar to Tokyo Revengers. You’d also notice the characters of both the anime giving the same vibes despite having different dynamics. Traveling back in time to fix one’s life by not repeating the same mistake is what’s similar in both ReLife and Tokyo Revengers. The story revolves around a 27-year-old guy named Kaizaki Arata, who’s hopeless in finding a job after quitting his former one. One day he meets Ryo Yoake who works at the ReLife Research Institute. Ryo possesses a drug that could transform Kaizaki into his 17-year-old self again to fix his past mistakes. Kaizaki agrees to use it and starts his life again as a high-schooler. 8. Great Teacher Onizuka Both Great Teacher Onizuka and Tokyo Revengers share the theme of High School Drama and involve some really nice yakuza action. However, Great Teacher Onizuka is definitely way more comedic than Tokyo Revengers. Our MC in Great Teacher Onizuka is a badass ex-biker gang leader who aspires to be a great high school teacher (How ironic!). However, he’s up to no good as his sole motive of getting into a high school as a teacher is just to find a pretty little teenage wife for him. He manages to get into the prestigious Holy Forest Academy but finds himself in a bit of a mess as his class is notorious for being rotten to the core. The students face issues every day and he is the one who solves them by using his life lessons. 7. Orange Orange is just another anime with time-traveling as its main theme. Although it does not involve any delinquents or yakuza, it is quite similar to Tokyo Revengers. Both involve some high school romance and the MCs wishing to fix their past mistakes to save their loved ones. We definitely recommend you to check it out if you loved watching Tokyo Revengers. Orange follows the story of Takamiya Naho who receives a detailed letter from herself 10 years in the future one day. Initially, she thinks that someone’s playing a prank on her because let’s be serious, how can a person even receive a letter from her own self from the future? Sounds ridiculous, right? However, Naho notices the things in the letter coming true and has no choice but to believe the miracle that’s happening to her. She has a group of friends which also includes a guy named Kakeru. Her future self deeply regrets that Kakeru is no longer with them in the future and advises her past self to never leave him alone and watch him closely so that he stays with them. you might also like this: yellow point arrow 35+ BEST Manhwa/Webtoons That Are Popular! Ikebukuro West Gate Park Both Ikebukuro West Gate Park and Tokyo Revengers revolve around the gang culture in Japan and its power dynamics. They show the struggles of different yakuza gangs possessing different power structures. They both share the same concept of protecting someone other than themselves! The story is about Makoto Majima who is a troubleshooter and often fixes disputes amongst the deadly yakuza that live in Ikebukuro. He’s Extremely capable and is able to do things that even the police can’t. Makoto ends up losing his loved one when things get out of hand. Will he keep his cool and deal with everything logically or go haywire? The answer lies in the anime! 5. Rainbow Another anime about delinquents and gangs, Rainbow tells us the story of some bad boys that are also sad boys! Rainbow and Tokyo revengers are quite similar because of the concept of yakuza bonding and deeply analyzing why they turn out to be like that. Rainbow tells us the story of a bunch of teenagers who have been shifted to Shounan Special Reform School because of some crimes they committed. They meet an older inmate, Rokurouta Sakuragi, who was a former boxer in their cell and all of them become close to him. The boys saw a light of hope and promised each other that they’ll meet again outside after serving their sentences. 4. Shounan Bakusozouku This anime features a theme of gang culture and mixes it up with the high school drama which gives it an interesting edge! We see the concept of gang culture portrayed beautifully in this anime just like Tokyo Revengers. Shounan Bakusozouku is about a high school gang leader who’s a biker as well as a member of his school’s handicrafts club (How ironic!). We find our MC very weird because he constantly juggles between being a badass biker and a total cutie with his handicrafts. The rest of his gang is equally weird! 3. Steins; Gate Steins; Gate incorporates the theme of time travel and is very similar to Tokyo Revengers. However, we don’t see any gangs or yakuza in Steins; Gate. Our MC, unlike the MC of Tokyo Revengers, is a weird scientist. Both the anime involve going back in time to save their loved ones. This anime revolves around a mad scientist named Rintarou Okabe along with his team members, Mayuri Shiina and Hashida Itaru who are constantly working on some “Future Gadgets”. They manage to create a bizarre “Phone Microwave” that can send Emails to the past, changing the past completely. 2. Kokou Botuden Crows Kokou Botuden Crows revolve around high school gangs and delinquents and their strong bonds with each other. If you liked Tokyo Revengers, you’re definitely going to love this one! The story is about Bouya Harumichi who got transferred to an all-boys high school. That high school is a haven for some of the most dangerous delinquents. The high school is named “Crows High School” because the students get a lot of hate from normal people because of their inauspiciousness. Hamachi has the potential of becoming a badass delinquent. But will he really join hands with the delinquents and get all the hate from the people around him? 1. Erased Just like the MC of Tokyo Revengers, our MC from Erased becomes his younger self to save his loved one. Both anime share the concept of time traveling as well as changing the course of things so that they could fix what they’ve ruined. Erased follows the story of Satoru Fujinuma who’s a reclusive part-timer with no ambitions. However, he has the power of going back in time and avoiding accidents or deaths (Such a convenient power!). Satoru lives with a constant childhood trauma that he would like to forget. The only way is to go back in the past and fix things so that he could live his life without any guilt. Will he trust his ability and go back in time to fix things? Conclusion Tokyo Revengers is definitely worth all the grace it’s getting. It has a beautiful story that gives us a lesson that we should not trust what we see on the surface but also try to understand something on a deeper, less superficial level. With that being said, our list will help you with some of the best anime that are similar to Tokyo Revengers on so many levels. If you’re into anime that’s full of cuteness, wholesomeness, and a few emotional moments from time to time, then for sure you’ve heard of Gakuen Babysitters. Gakuen Babysitters has a hint of the sweet high school romance! It has a tsundere! It has great main characters! But most of all, the babies look adorable! Gakuen Babysitters is a Comedy Slice of Life anime that was handled by Brain’s Base studio. It has a total of 12 episodes and premiered last Winter 2018. The plot follows Ryuuichi Kashima and his little brother Kotarou. After losing both their parents in a plane crash, Ryuuichi now joins the babysitter club in exchange for the chairwoman of Morinomiya Academy to let them live with her for free and enroll Ryuuichi in the school without pay. This series just doesn’t involve babies, but it features a story of two brothers slowly adapting to a new environment without a family, but slowly they start to realize that they will never be alone. I know you’re reading this because you can’t get enough of Gakuen Babysitters. So I’ve prepared a list of 15+ anime that have similarities with Gakuen Babysitters to fulfill your heart’s desires. So my fellow anime enthusiast, let me take you for a ride! Read More: EPIC ACTION Korean Webtoons/Mahwa 16. Ore Monogatari Ore Monogatari is a wholesome one! It has love! But instead of babies, we get a gentle giant! The relation to Gakuen Babysitters is not that recognizable as it is most definitely a RomCom series rather than a slice of life. One of the things that they do have the same though is that the main character is easily misunderstood by those around him until others stand up for him and stay by his side no matter what. This kind of situation was rather a staple piece especially at the start of Gakuen Babysitters. Think of this series as Hayato getting into a relationship and Yagi not losing his unusual addiction for kids and becoming his best friend. Ore Monogatari is about Takeo Gouda, definitely not your everyday high schooler. His conquest for love began when he saved the cute and adorable Rinko Yamato from being molested. After he thinks that Rinko is interested in his best friend, Makoto Sunukawa, he acts as her helper even though he was also in love with her. Takeo has a lot of similarities with Ryuuichi especially in how they are both selfless and are willing to put others first. 15. Horimiya You might be wondering why Horimiya is on the list, but hold your horses and hear me out. Horimiya has some similarities to Gakuen Babysitters especially in how episodes progress. The story progresses in a manner that cannot be easily realized by the viewer. Another thing that Horimiya has that is the same with Gakuen Babysitters is how they portray the Slice of Life and Comedy genre realistically. It has characters that have similar characteristics to Gakuen Babysitters as well. Similar to Ryuuichi, Miyamura (the male main character) started to understand that no one can be alone, as he meets friends and eventually finds the love of his life. Horimiya is a Slice of Life, RomCom anime that features Izumi Miyamura, a timid and shy student who was alone for most of his life and was constantly bullied, and Kyouko Hori who is an independent and determined high school girl. As the days go by and they start to know each other, love eventually blossoms between the two, and a new world is opened up for Miyamura Izumi. It may not have babies, but that does not mean it doesn’t have characters who are as dumb as one. 14. Himouto! Umaru-chan She is not a baby! She just looks like one! Himouto! Umaru-chan is a slice-of-life anime just like Gakuen Babysitters. It features characters with the same tropes that are found in Gakuen Babysitters as well. Not only that, their comedic antics are closely similar to the series as well but it lacks the wholesomeness that encapsulates Gakuen Babysitters. Himouto! Umaru-chan is a pure comedic slice of life anime that offers little drama but packs a punch with its jokes and hilarious scenes. The series revolves around Umaru Doma who is a perfect high school student but once she gets home and wears her hamster hoodie, she becomes this lazy otaku that just does whatever she likes, leaving her brother, Taihei all the household chores. The series also has a set of characters that give more spice to the comedy such as the shy and quiet Ebina, the so-called rival Sylphynford, and the Hayato-like Kirie. Again, she just looks like a baby, and maybe even has the same IQ as one. 13. Tamako Market We had high schoolers who were as dumb as a baby, we had an otaku who looks like a baby, but now we get-a talking bird! Yes. A talking bird who’s addicted to mochi. One thing for sure that makes Tamako Market have similarities with Gakuen Babysitters is that it is Slice of Life anime through and through. It features the everyday life of Tamako Kitashirakawa, just like in Gakuen Babysitters where the story revolves around the daily life of Ryuuichi inside the daycare. But instead of daycare, we have a market and instead of babies, you have a bird who has a bigger ego than that one guy who just got a raise. Tamako Market also has the wholesomeness and subtle comedy and romance in Gakuen Babysitters. As I’ve said Tamako Market revolves around the life of Tamako and the market where everyone knows everyone. Tamako belongs to a family of mochi bakers. On a fateful day, she finds Dera Mochimazzi, a bird who proclaims that he is royalty from a distant land and is in search of a bride for his nation’s prince. But Dera takes on an unusual addiction to Mochi, becomes overweight, and can no longer return to his homeland. He lives in Tamako’s house and becomes the mascot. There is also a little romance involved as Tamako’s childhood friend Mochizou continues to hide his feelings from her. 12. K-On! What goes well with wholesomeness? Music and a Tea Party! K-On! is another wholesome slice of life anime that is set in a Japanese high school. But instead of daycare or your typical high school student, K-On! features the four (and then five) high school girls that reside within the Light Music Club. The series shows their day-to-day life just like in Gakuen Babysitters but adds a little uniqueness with their songs and performances. It also has comedy, a little bit of drama that can be found in high school, as well as their journey to achieve their dream. The band name is “Afterschool Tea Time”. The band members include The forgetful main character Yui Hirasawa who plays the guitar and is the lead vocalist; The energetic Ritsu Tainaka who plays the drums; The shy Mio Akiyama, the second vocalist, and bassist; The wealthy and naive Tsugumi Kotobuki who plays the keyboard and; a member who will arrive at the later part of the series, Azusa Nakano who also plays the guitar. Together they bring out wholesome laughs and adorable antics that can’t help but make you smile. The series also has several original songs that can make your day flutter with happiness. 11. Nichijou Nichijou is one of the funniest and wackiest slice of life anime you will ever see in your life. Forget about the talking bird, this time we have a talking cat, a principal tries to suplex a deer, a crow is also talking, and there’s even a robot caretaker. What more could you want? Nichijou - My Ordinary Life is literally about the life of the 6 main characters where again one is a robot, one is a talking cat, and also adds a young genius into the mix. Gakuen Babysitters have a more realistic slice of life but Nichijou is like Gakuen Babysitters but drinks coffee 3 times a day. It’s also set in a high school setting just like in Gakuen Babysitters but lacks the emotional drama as it's a full-blown slapstick comedy. Nichijou is the anime series that took all of Gakuen Babysitters' comedy and put them in a high school setting. It’s like a series out of all the imaginations of the babies in the daycare in Gakuen Babysitters. Maybe this is what Usaida is dreaming about. 10. Chibi☆Devi! We finally have babies! Well…devil babies. Chibi☆Devi! is a series that just like Gakuen Babysitters tackles the hardships of taking care of babies but this series just has a “devilish” twist in it. It features the activities that can be found in Gakuen Babysitters such as nap-time and story-time. One thing that sets this apart from Gakuen Babysitters, however, is that the series is geared towards much younger audiences so you won’t find the emotional drama, and the comedy is built for those at a young age. The series is focused on Honoka Sawada who doesn’t believe in devils and such but one day a devil baby named Mao was dropped into her room while she was asleep and is now enlisting the help of Shin Sugisaki to help her in dealing with the unusual circumstances. 9. My Roommate is a Cat From a talking bird to devil babies and back to an ordinary cat. This may seem like a downgrade but keep reading, this series has a lot more in common with Gakuen Babysitters than you thought. It perfectly re-enacts the situation Ryuuichi and Kotarou are in where their parents died in an accident leaving them alone. But in My Roommate is a Cat, the main character is living in solitude until he meets Haru, a grey cat he decided to take care of. He is similar to Ryuuichi because he is put in a situation where he must take care of someone/something other than himself. Although, instead of being like Ryuuichi who is responsible, Subaru can’t even seem to take care of himself. The similarities don’t stop there, after his fateful meeting with Haru, Subaru is now being acquainted with more and more people and is slowly leaving his introverted life. My Roommate is a Cat that builds up an entire story from the “stray gets picked up from the streets” cliche in other anime series and that itself is amazing. It’s heartwarming and also involves funny scenes. Even though Haru has a backstory, the series makes sure that you get to know and fall in love with the characters. 8. Poco’s Udon World Just by looking at the picture you can tell that even in the art style, Poco’s Udon World and Gakuen Babysitters are starting to look alike. But only do they look alike but there are also similarities in their plot and concept. Poco’s Udon World is more intertwined with fantasy while Gakuen Babysitter is telling their story from a more realistic perspective. I mean Poco’s Udon World has a shapeshifting Tanuki. The main characters of the two series also lost both their parents. Poco’s Udon World also has that wholesome tone to it and also talks about the past of the main character, Souta Tawara. There are also similarities in how the supporting characters act and their main characteristics. The storytelling is also similar to Gakuen Babysitter where there is no definitive storyline, the series is just taking us through the daily life of the characters. So, if you’re not into talking birds and cats, maybe you’re more into a shapeshifting Tanuki named Poco. 7. Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge This anime is if you imagined Usaida and Ryuuichi changed attitudes. I guess this is what Usaida’s dreams must be about. Also called Tanaka-kun is Always Listless in English it revolves around the main character Tanaka, who doesn’t want to exert energy, and his dependable friend Oota (blonde Usaida) as they encounter extraordinary events while living their high school lives. It’s a slice-of-life comedy anime that focuses on the dream of the main character to live a peaceful and quiet life. It also has a pretty unique art style. The similarities it has with Gakuen Babysitters lie in the basic concept of Tanaka’s daily life. While being the opposite of the responsible Ryuuichi, both series focus on the daily life of the characters and the unusual situations that happen in them. Its style of comedy is also similar to Gakuen Babysitters as well as its list of characters. 6. Sweetness & Lightning We finally reached it! If you’re the one who just scrolled all the way here to find an anime that involves taking care of a real baby, you’ve done it! The anime focuses on the life of Kouhei Inuzaka who is taking care of his daughter Tsumugi after his wife passed away. Because of his busy life and his inability to cook, he usually feeds both of them food from the convenience store. He takes up an offer from his student Kotori, and he and Tsumugi eat and cook together with Kotori. In terms of similarity with Gakuen Babysitters, first off, they both stick to the realistic manner of portraying the slice of life genre. He is also in the same situation as Ryuuichi but this time he’s the father. There is also a hint of drama involved especially in the characters' current situation. It’s a wholesome anime that involves cooking, family, and emotions. In a sense, it's more realistic than Gakuen Babysitters especially in how it deals with the character’s feelings. 5. How to Keep a Mummy Look at that mummy! Who in this world would not think that that’s not cute? And there’s more where that came from. How to Keep a Mummy essentially replaced the babies in Gakuen Babysitters with unique cute pets. The story is all about a high school student named Sora Kashiwagi who receives bizarre gifts from his father who travels the world. When he receives a present that came from Egypt he’s shocked to find a little mummy named Mii-kun. As they go along with their lives they start to meet other people with extraordinary pets. This is essentially Gakuen Babysitters if it were set in Night at the Museum. Both series are cute and wholesome. You can’t help but smile at their antics and their amusing everyday lives. Who wouldn’t enjoy that heartwarming tea-cup size cuteness overload? 4. Bunny Drop Bunny Drop is similar to Sweetness & Lightning but instead of the main character being a single father he is now a 30-year old bachelor who just goes with the flow. The story begins when Daikichi Kawachi was paying his respects to his grandfather. He meets a shy girl named Rin Kaga who is being rejected by Daickihi’s grandfather’s relatives after his death as they think she is a shame to the family as she was shockingly his Daikichi’s grandfather’s illegitimate daughter. Furious, Daikichi decides to take Rin as his own and so his journey to fatherhood starts. Bunny Drop has close ties with Gakuen Babysitters especially in how the series’ main characters try to discover and rediscover the warmth and kindness of a close-knit family. Bunny Drop includes wholesome scenes. The series is rare in the anime world because it deals with a subject that is often taken seriously. This slice of life anime will surely make you smile and maybe make you shed a tear or two. 3. Barakamon Barakamon is not about taking care of children but it’s about discovering yourself while being in contact with one. The plot of Barakamon is centered on Seishu Handa who is a narcissistic and talented calligrapher who was exiled to the Goto Islands after losing his cool when his work was called unoriginal. He meets his wacky neighbors who keep barging into his home, one of which is Naru Kotoishi, a very annoying child. While in exile and always being kept busy by his neighbors, he starts to learn new things that began to change his view on so many things in life. Gakuen Babysitters primarily focuses on antics as well as having subtle emotional scenes such as the case with Barakamon. But Barakamon tends to focus on one of Seishu’s views on life instead of his situation. It has similarities with the comedic scenes in Gakuen Babysitters as well as the way it portrays a slice of life. Maybe by watching this anime, you can learn something that will change your perspective about the world. 2. Baby and Me You may be thinking, what’s an anime that premiered in 1996 doing here? Well, because it is one of the most similar anime to Gakuen Babysitters of course! Maybe even its grandfather or something. Such as I said it's similar to Gakuen Babysitters because the mother of the main character, Takuya Enoki’s mother passed away and now he must sacrifice his childhood, even as a 5th grader to take care of his little brother as his father is busy working as your typical Japanese salaryman. Takuya’s situation is almost the same as Ryuuichi as they both try their best to find the true meaning of family. Baby and Me is essentially a drama-comedy anime. It portrays a situation that happens in real life and the story is beautiful on its own. It may be old but it sure is worth watching. 1. Hanamaru Youchien Hanamaru Youchien or Hanamaru Kindergarten is the closest anime just like Gakuen Babysitters. The main character might not have the same family situation just like Ryuuichi but the scenarios, comedy, and slice of life elements of the two series are like twins. Hanamaru Youchien also has that subtle romance where the main character, Naozumi Tsuchida is in love with Nanako Yamamoto who supervises the class next door. Its structure of events is also similar to Gakuen Babysitters. The show is as wholesome as it gets pretty funny because it’s one of the few anime where a big part of the story is where Anzu, a kindergartener fell in love with Naozumi. The series is relaxing, fun, and just all-around laid-back. It’s a must-watch if you liked Gakuen Babysitters. Final Verdict Most of the series listed here are a slice of life and that’s what Gakuen Babysitters was all about. It showed the everyday life of the characters. Their problems, their emotions, but most of all it talked about what it meant to have family and someone to rely on. Self-discovery and understanding are important but sometimes you need to help those around you. 15+ ANIME Like Gakuen Babysitters [Recommendations] Ernie Last Updated on April 27, 2021 by saaddhillon Do you like babies!? And the Nipponjin express their respect to one another through Honorifics. Honorifics are representative of your status in society thus different suffixes are used in specific situations. Informal suffixes are most of the time used to address people with the same social status as yourself and the opposite is true for Formal suffixes. It is very important to distinguish the difference between both to go through a conversation without offending the other party. So let's talk about the meaning and proper use of Chan, San, and Kun, since you are sure to come across one of them in most conversations. Read More: EXCITING Anime and Manga Attractions in Tokyo! Japanese Honorific Guide 101 - Everything You Need To Know What does San mean in Japanese? San is a unisex suffix that can be used for both males as well females. It’s a substitute for “Mrs.”, “Ms.”, or “Mr.”, a formal and informal suffix (subscript) used to address superior as well as equals or people you just met. It is the most popular honorific and the easiest to use, a safe choice in moments of doubt. It is attached at the end of a person's name, occupation, or official title. For example, if you want to address a proprietor (boss or owner of a business,) it can be “Mochinushi-san.” You can even add this suffix to a company name as you refer to it, or an animal like for example Sakana-san meaning fish. San also has a more formal equivalent, “Sama” used to address people of higher social status or people you work for. For example, a maid might call her master Goshujin-sama. What does Chan mean in Japanese? Chan is a derivative of San used exclusively for females. It can be for children, close friends, family members, lovers, and even animals. We can conclude that it is an informal suffix that is not used to address strangers. Calling someone using Chan can be considered as a way of pampering or spoiling as you will use this honorific to address people, animals, or things you find Kawaii, cute. It can be added at the end of the person’s name or a nickname. For example, Hinata might be called Hina-chan. In rare circumstances, only for phonetic reasons, a boy might be addressed with Chan if this name does not sound good if the suffix Kun is added. For example, Tsubasa called Tsuba-chan may ring better in your ear than Tsuba-Kun. What does Kun mean in Japanese? Simply put, Kun is the opposite of Chan. It is reserved to address males instead of females. What differs is that it will most probably be used for young boys as older ones might get insulted to be considered cute. It also shows that the superior is addressing the inferior, so you have to carefully assess each person's social status before using it. In rare cases, a superior, in the workplace, may address his female employee by using Kun because this suffix is considered to be more respectful than Chan. Also, a female might use Kun to address a male she is very close to and has a strong feeling for, like for example, her lover. Those honorifics are only the tip of the iceberg, many more are worth mentioning since, we, anime fans, come across them daily. So let’s go over the most confusing ones. What does Senpai & Kohai mean in Japanese? Senpai refers to a person, not necessarily older, but a person who has more experience in a specific domain. Although it is mostly used to refer to a senior at school it can be used to address seniors at the workplace or in a sports club. The people who were there before you are your Senpai’s even if they are younger. Well, you guessed it, Kohai is the opposite of Senpai. It refers to the juniors. What does Sensei mean in Japanese? A lot of people mistakenly use “Sensei" only for professors or teachers but "Sensei" is also descriptive for doctors and lawyers. Anyone that we look upon as an authority figure or a Master in a specific field. It is used to acknowledge someone that achieved a superior level of mastery and skill in a domain. This is why artists can also be addressed using "Sensei". What does Fujin mean in Japanese? Like Chan, Fujin is allocated for women. It’s similar to “Mrs.” and mostly used to refer to someone’s wife. It is a prestigious honorific meant to address women of high status like politicians or celebrities. What does Dono & Tono mean in Japanese? I added those honorifics to the mix even if they are not used in the modern age because, frankly, I was very curious about them. Turns out that those two honorifics mean the same thing. The same Kanji is used to write both of them and it means “Lord”. It was used in the paste between Nobles to address each other with the same level of respect and the servants had the liberty to use Dono, Tono, or Sama. Since we started to mention royalty, let’s continue on this path. Those are the most famous titles of royalty Heika means Majesty. Denka means Royal Highness. Kakka means Your Excellence. To end on a special note, I just discovered that there are also honorifics to address criminals. For convicted criminals we use hikoku and for accused or criminals still on trial/awaiting trial the honorific yōgisha is more appropriate. Conclusion In a nutshell, honorifics are the Japanese way of being polite and they reflect the relationship between two individuals. Being polite and respectful is a way to uphold your honor and the honor of your family. If you are already familiar with the general Japanese culture, knowing which honorifics to use will be easier for you. Appropriate honorifics have been created to match all kinds of individuals in all kinds of situations. The Japanese have a very complex way of communicating but that’s what makes their culture and language so interesting and beautiful. All the attention they give to reflect each person's status is their way to show what they accomplished during their life even if it’s negative. Things they have the right to be recognized or persecuted for. If you think about it, everything related to the Japanese culture is very poetic and has a deeper meaning than what meets the eye. The Way of the Househusband is definitely one of the most anticipated anime adaptations that came out in 2021 and took the anime community by storm. Now, most people are quite disappointed with the way its animation is done. It’s true that the way they’ve animated it might not be the cup of tea for everyone, but the comedic elements in this one are epic and we can definitely not stop it from getting all the glory it deserves! This anime features such a mild and laid-back story that brings out the true essence of the “slice of life” genre. You’ll find yourself laughing at the most unexpected moments. The way they’ve portrayed the ex-yakuza as a househusband is hilarious and worth watching. We see him wearing a cute apron at all times, joining cooking/yoga classes, doing everyday household work, grocery shopping, and other chores that housewives do. An intimidating yakuza doing all those things alone makes everything all the more comedic! So, if you’re a fan of short, sweet, and hilarious slice and life anime like The Way of the Househusband, then you’ve come to the right place! We’ve created a list of some of the best comedy anime that are similar to The Way of the Househusband. Are you ready? Let’s go! I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying 2. Hinamatsuri 1. Sakamoto Desu Ga? Conclusion Anime Like Gokushufudo 10. Osake Wa Fuufu ni Natte Kara/Love is Like A Cocktail A cute little story that resembles The Way of The Househusband A LOT. Both the anime share the concept of working wives and stay-at-home husbands who love pampering and spoiling their wives. And to be honest, there won’t be any working wife who wouldn’t like a clean house and some good food after a long day’s work! Love is like a Cocktail tells us the story of Chisato Mizusawa who works as an assistant office manager. She’s a calm and collected lady but has a secret that only she and her husband know. Apparently, she hates drinking, but deep down inside she loves it and that’s her secret! Although she appears all serious and tough, she has a cute side to her that she only reveals to her husband. Her husband is extremely affectionate towards her and spoils her with yummy food and different fresh drinks every night when she comes home from work. Her love for drinking alcohol is not more than her love for her husband. This anime shows the everyday life of the cutesy couple that everybody aspires to be like! 9. Tonikaku Kawaii/Fly Me To The Moon Another super-sweet anime with really funny moments, Fly me To the Moon and The Way of the Househusband share the same kind of husband-wife everyday life story. We can’t get over the way both the anime have portrayed the cute relationship between a husband and a wife. Though Tonikaku Kawaii has more cute moments and The Way of the househusband has more hilarious ones! Tonikaku kawaii revolves around a boy with a really peculiar name, Nasa Tsukasa, who encounters a gorgeous girl on the night when he takes a practice exam test. He tries to talk to her but unfortunately gets hit by the truck. She manages to save him somehow and leaves him there but he miraculously follows the girl, Tsukasa, to the bus station and confesses that he has fallen for her. Tsukasa suggests that if he marries her, she’d stay by his side forever. After that, Nasa becomes unconscious. When he turns 18, Nasa suddenly remembers his promise and somehow ends up at the doorstep of Tsukasa with a marriage form. They get married and their everyday life as a lovey-dovey couple begins! 8. Barakamon Though Barakamon and The Way of The Househusband are not similar when it comes to the “husband-wife” part, the comedic elements in both are quite similar and make us laugh at the most unexpected moments! Both include a set of very likable and cute characters that make us swoon over them, especially the MCs. The MCs are both intimidating when we look at them but very sweet when we get to know about them more. Though there are not a lot of characters in both the anime, we’re able to see the unique relationships the MCs have with all the characters around them. Barakamon is about a professional calligrapher, Seishu Handa, who moves to Goto Island after angrily punching an elderly curator of an exhibition after he criticizes him. He finds the village life very strange at first and finds the villagers very nosy. But soon he gets immersed in the fresh atmosphere and simple village life and is able to meet a lot of energetic people. He especially adores Naru who’s a 7-year old villager. She ticked him off A LOT at first but was able to make him adore her after showing him her cute and stupid side. If you’re a fan of short and refreshing anime, then you’re definitely going to love this one! 7. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K Although the MCs of both anime are not much similar, they share the same peculiar humor. The episodes of both the anime are also short and super-fun! The story of this anime revolves around a 16-year old typical high school student, Kusou Saiki, who has psychic powers (Not so typical!). He can know about what’s going on inside other people’s heads and control them accordingly. It’s a blessing and a curse at the same time for him! He had always kept his superpowers in check ever since he was a child. But now that he’s in high school, he can’t help but use his psychic powers on others. Though he despises unwanted attention, we see people around him constantly trying to get him out of his bubble and break his everyday routine! 6. Backstreet Girls: Gokudolls Both Backstreet Girls: Gokudolls and The Way of The Househusband share the same low-quality animation which makes them even funnier. The characters in this anime are also ex-yakuza just like our MC from the Way of The Househusband. We also come across a lot of ridiculously funny scenes in both anime, making them quite similar to each other. Featuring an interesting story, this anime is about three yakuza who fail their boss and are given a choice of either harvesting their organs or go through sex regeneration surgery and become female idols. Obviously choosing the latter, the three yakuza are born again as super-cute pop idols. Despite practicing being feminine, the three are able to retain some of their yakuza sides. Their boss doesn’t like that and hires them a new manager, Mandarin Kinoshita, who has never had a band that was not successful. Now that their lives are on the line, the three ex-yakuza pop idols try their best to bring out their cuteness and femininity to become the top pop idols! you might also like this: yellow point arrow Thumbnail 11+ INSPIRATIONAL The Way of The Househusband QUOTES [HQ IMAGES] No Comments Last Updated on April 14, 2021 by saaddhillonThe Way of The Househusband is out with some crazy hype as well as some disappointed fans who Read More » 5. Fugou Keiji: Balance Unlimited The MCs of both Fugou Keiji: Balance Unlimited and The Way of the Househusband are badass and that’s one common trait they both share! Hard from outside, soft from inside, both are quite intimidating but deep down, they’re extremely sweet around the people they love! Though, the comedic elements in Fugou Keiji: Balance Unlimited are nowhere near The Way of the Househusband, we’re still able to find a lot of common things between the two when we compare them! This anime is about an extremely rich man named Daisuke Kambe who ends up as a detective at the Modern Crime Prevention Headquarters. He’s paired up with another detective, Haru Katou, who’s very kind and puts justice above all. Both Daisuke and Haru are polar opposites of each other and do not get along very well. Haru hates how Daisuke tries to solve cases with the insane amount of money he has. But Daisuke doesn’t see any problem with that. By combining their intelligence and efforts and by compromising with each other’s personalities, the two will have to solve mysteries coming their way! 4. Detroit Metal City Detroit Metal City is a hilarious piece of work and just like The Way of the Househusband, it’s very short. The wacky animation makes it even funnier! Both Detroit Metal City and The Way of the Househusband share the same kind of setting. If you liked The Way of the Househusband, then you’d definitely like this one! The anime revolves around Soichi Negishi who’s a timid boy and wants to be a pop singer. But somehow he ends up in a Death Metal Band “Detroit Metal City” and as a lead singer! He goes by the stage name “Johannes Krauser II” who’s notorious for being demonic and claims to be ascended from the fiery pits of hell. Of course, all of that’s not true, he just wants the public to feel the fire while he’s performing. This alone makes it really funny! Soichi has to throw away his sweet and soft side when he’s on stage. His misadventures are hilarious as he tries to balance both his opposite lives as a normal college graduate and a death metal band member! 3. I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying We see the same kind of story in both the anime as both the MCs are stay-at-home-husbands with working wives. The two MCs also share being equally weird and crazy! This anime tells us a story of a shut-in Otaku who works as a blogger and his wife Kaoru, who’s a hard-working and diligent office lady who loves getting drunk. Both are opposite to each other but find their way towards loving each other regardless. Both are caught up in their everyday lives surrounded by colorful people who make the couple go through hilarious and baffling situations. They’re both willing to become even better for each other and change themselves for that! 2. Hinamatsuri Just like The Way of the Husband, Hinamatsuri is about a tough yakuza guy caught up in different domestic situations. Both the anime share the same kind of hilarious but short story that feels very refreshing to watch! Hinamatsuri is about a yakuza named Nitta whose life turns upside down when a girl, Hina, from the future, literally drops on his head out of nowhere and without warning! Hina has supernatural powers and can use them to get anything she wants. Now, Nitta sees her as a powerful tool for his yakuza business but also has a potential risk of her attacking him anytime she wants. Hina has to use her powers regularly or else she’ll go berserk and destroy everything in sight. Both end up living with each other and trying their best not to cause any unnecessary trouble. 1. Sakamoto Desu Ga? Sakamoto Desu Ga and The Way of the Househusband both feature the kind of MCs that are extremely intimidating when we first look at them. They’re the sweetest things ever when we get to know them more! Both the MCs are perfect in every way, be it looks, intelligence or skills. Both the anime share the same kind of hilarious setting and story that’ll make you laugh at the most unexpected moments. This anime revolves around a High School student named Sakamoto who’s perfect in every way possible. He’s handsome, smart, suave, sublime, we can use all the positive adjectives for him. He managed to get all the girls to fall for him and the guys burned with jealousy on his first day of High School. The story is about his peers trying to exceed his excellence but failing. It’s super hilarious like The Way of the Househusband and you’re definitely going to love it if you enjoyed watching The Way of the Househusband!

Hartaraku no Maou-Sama holds a high position in the genre of reverse isekai and truly deserves all the grace it's getting. With season 2 around the corner, we can definitely notice the hype it's getting! It creates a perfect balance between serious and comic moments and gives us what is called "mood whiplash". The characters are quite entertaining and do not fail to make us laugh after every few minutes. This anime includes a number of powerful demons and angels and a never-ending beef between them. Since they've come to Earth from another world, it's quite amusing for us to see them actually working and trying to live as humanly as possible. A fierce demon working as a manager for some restaurant- Can you imagine that? We also have a legendary hero who works in a call center and much more! So, without further ado, let's talk about their individual strengths and rank them accordingly! 10 Chiho Sasaki Our adorable little Chiho-Chan might not be the strongest of all the characters in this anime, but we know one thing for sure, she's the cutest of them all! Chiho works as a part-timer with Maou and is head over heels for him. The most fun part is that at first, she was shy about it but then instantly, she got quite direct about liking him and ended up confessing to her. Despite her cuteness and naiveness, she's quite strong-willed and sometimes says some words of wisdom (Not often). She's very kind towards everyone and has a very pleasant and welcoming personality and is literally a fresh breath of air! We often see her getting jealous of the girls around Maou and end up overreacting, making it obvious that she likes him. But she doesn't really hate the girls that she feels close to them. That's how nice she is! She's very weak if we compare her to the other characters of this anime. However, when Maou hypnotized her father when he came on Earth initially, it ended up affecting Chiho and she was able to understand the language of Ente Isla. She's also good at archery as she has joined the archery club. In the light novel, she has displayed her skills of archery that have to be animated yet and we can't wait for it! 9 Olba Meyer Olba Meyer is the corrupt Archbishop of the Church of Ente Isla who took Yusa and trained her hard to defeat the Demon Lord. He had been working secretly with the corrupt Church, denouncing everyone especially the Allied Knights Order, the rebelling 'heretics'. Being Crestis's (Suzuno) superior, he ordered her around to carry out brutal murders of the rebels. It was later revealed that he had secretly conspired with Lucifer to get rid of the Demon Lord as well as Emilia, the Hero. Olba Meyer being the head of the Ente Isla Church possesses great Sacred Powers. He's also able to fly and open gates from their World to the Earth as he was able to take Lucifer to Maou and others on Earth. We see him creating projectiles of energy that he can control well at will. Though, after getting his plan crushed to pieces by Maou, he went into hiding. 8 Emarada Etuva Emilia's comrade and friend, Emerada Etuva is a skilled magic user and is very proficient in magical chemistry. Being the highest-ranked official, Emerada has fought many battles side by side with Emilia. Emerada seems calm and composed most of the time but is also very cheerful. She doesn't really act harshly and knows what consequences her actions will bring (The reason why she didn't attack Maou when she saw him on Earth upon her arrival). She's mostly a spaced-out cutie! As Emilia's guardian. Emerada possesses great magic skills and is very proficient while using them. She's able to stop time and even turned Alsiel (Ashiya) to stone mid-battling. She's also able to fly just like Olba. Overall, she is a pretty strong character among the characters of this anime. 7 Suzuno Kamazuki Suzuno Kamazuki also known as Crestia Bell is the neighbor of Maou on Earth and serves as the Chief of the Doctrinal Corrections Council under the Church in Ente Isla. Her moving right next to a bunch of men was suspicious from the start and yes we noticed it just like Emilia did. She pretended to be a great and caring neighbor to Maou and the boys by spoiling them with homemade food and even giving them a huge box of Udon. She also pretended to have feelings for Maou in front of Emilia so that she lets her guard down when she's with her (Such a great actor). She ended up learning about Earth by watching 'Period Dramas' and wears traditional Japanese dresses all the time. Her acting like a pure country bumpkin all the time is quite comical. Suzuno was a skilled assassin in Ente Isle and was able to kill many people without breaking a sweat. She can enhance her strength by flowing magic throughout her body and carry huge and heavy objects. Just like other characters, Suzuno is also able to control a person by making them fall asleep. she's also a memory manipulator but we haven't seen it yet. She mentioned it once, telling Chiho that she can erase her memories. 6 Albert Ende One of the four heroes to fight the Demon Lord and Emilia's comrade. Albert Ende is a muscular man with motion-sickness issues. We saw him getting sick when he was traveling to Earth with Emerada. He has a cheerful personality and is quite feisty which we love! Albert used to be a part of the famous martial group in the North Continent but after its fall, the group disbanded. He moved from all humans in isolation and became a woodcutter. We haven't seen him fighting a lot but it's definitely safe to say that he's pretty strong because he was able to throw away Alsiel with a mere punch. He possesses great physical powers and is very agile. He can boost up his speed and is also able to fly just like others. 5 Shiro Ashiya Ashiya and Maou's relationship on Earth is like that of a husband and wife no matter how we look at it. It's quite comical how Ashiya takes care of domestic work and Maou works all day. In Ente Isla, Ashiya is one of the Demon General serving Maou and is extremely loyal to him. We also see him getting extremely angry whenever our hero Yusa badmouths him. He protects him at all costs and serves him without expecting anything from our Demon Lord. Ashiya is a great strategist, both on Ente Isla and Earth. He was fully responsible for great atrocities and killing in Ente Isla along with the Demon Lord and believed that human lives were meaningless. However, he changed quite a bit as soon as he came to Earth. Being a Demon, Ashiya possesses exceptional demonic powers and can make anyone shiver with fear. He's able to teleport and also uses telekinesis to throw off his enemies. He can use the demonic energy within him to create strong green projectiles and also defense barriers from his hands. He's truly one of the most challenging opponents for our heroes. 4 Hanzo Urushihara Urishihara was a fallen angel that Yusa defeated and was rescued secretly by Olba. He was also one of the Demon Lord's Generals just like Ashiya in Ente Isla. Olba proposed to rescue him only if he joined him in defeating the Demon Lord which Urushihara could not reject. In Ente Isla, he's a cunning and sneaky demon who has caused havoc everywhere along with other demons. However, on Earth, we see him as an extremely lazy brat who's also socially awkward. He's very childish and is obsessed with surfing the internet all day long. He's also a quick learner! When he came to Earth to defeat Maou and Ashiya, we see him spreading terror everywhere by destroying bridges and buildings. He also gave Yusa, Ashiya, and Even Maou a tough time. Other than demonic powers, Urushihara also possesses Holy powers to some extent. His endurance is also a no joke! 3 Emi Yusa Emi Yusa is the main female character of this anime and a Legendary Hero who was supposed to take the Demon Lord's life in Ente Isla. She was able to corner the Demon Lord but he fled to Earth and she had no option but to follow him all the way to Earth. After arriving on Earth, she was forced to take up a job at a call center and got used to her daily life there just how Maou did. Other than being a strong-willed and brave hero, Emi is a true tsundere. We see her not attacking Maou on Earth just because she thought he had changed and actually cares about people around him. She's a sweetheart because she cares deeply for the girls in the anime. She has helped Chiho-chan and Suzuno on multiple occasions even though she seems like she doesn't care at all about them (A true Tsundere indeed). Emi's powers are not to be underestimated on Ente Isla as she has it in her to defeat the demonic powers single-handedly. Emi possesses strong Holy Magic and is very proficient in using it. Other than her amazing physical strength, she's able to manipulate memories and also use sleep magic on her targets whenever she wants. Her sacred sword possesses extreme power and was able to give the Demon Lord a really tough time with that. 2 Maou Sadao Our main character definitely deserves this spot because of how immense and threatening his powers are. He's the Demon King and has everyone shivering with terror in Ente Isla. He's brutal, unkind, and a big narcissist. It's difficult to keep the same image of Maou when he arrives on Earth where he becomes a completely different person! The Demon Lord came from a humble background but because of his exceptional intelligence, he was able to climb up the ladder of success and became the ultimate Demon King. He's charismatic and is adored by all the demons, though despised by all the humans of Ente Isla. Maou on Earth is a totally different person. He's diligent, well-mannered, proactive, and kind-hearted. That's why our adorable Chiho-chan fell for him! Though, his thirst for power and success is not entirely vanished. As an employee of MgRonald's, he will do anything to take it to the top! In terms of power, Maou Sadao is second only to the Guardian of the Earth, Miki Shiba. He's extremely powerful and his demonic powers are not to be taken lightly. His demonic form allows him to transform into a muscular Demon with horns who looks extremely intimidating. He can use a number of demonic magic spells that allow him to hypnotize and manipulate people at will. Other than his demonic and physical powers, his keen intellect makes him different from all other characters in this anime. His reactions are fast and his brain works really well even under pressure! 1 Miki Shiba Miki Shiba is the landlady of Maou's apartment where he and Ashiya live. She's a very shady lady and knows a lot about Ente Isle for someone who is an inhabitant of the Earth. It is revealed that she's the Guardian of the Earth and lived more than anyone from demons to archangels. Not much about Miki's actual powers are revealed but we know for a fact that she's stronger than Mou as we see Gabriel and Sariel hesitating to provoke a fight with her but were not scared at all while picking a fight with Maou. Unlike Yusa and Maou, her powers are not dependent on Mana and she can use her powers to the fullest whenever she wants. She's definitely the strongest character of this anime! Conclusion Hatarku no Maou-Sama does not have a lot of characters but the ones it offers are very versatile with very unique powers. We truly love this show because of our badass protagonist but we can't really ignore all the other characters who make us laugh from time to time. We hope you liked this list and we'll keep updating our list with the latest anime and manga updates!
