So, Where does Attack on Titan Take Place?

The Setting

AOT THREE WALLS

Attack on Titan takes place on an alternate version of Earth where one hundred years ago, humanity was forced to hide behind three great walls to prevent their extinction from man-eating giants called Titans. The people of Paradis believed that the entire human race was diminished due to these Titans.

The people of Eldia once believed that these walls were named after the goddesses. The truth is that these walls were named after the three daughters of the Founding Titan, Ymir. They were Maria, Rose, and Shina. For a hundred years, the walls kept them safe, but after a hundred years, horror emerged.

After a century, the Titans breached the walls, and Maria was the first to fall. The town where it all began is Shiganshina. Luckily, they have developed tools to fight back against the Titans, known as the 3D Maneuvering gear, also called VME (Vertical Maneuvering Equipment) or ODM (Omni-Directional Maneuvering Gear).

The Titans

AOT Titans

In the Attack on Titan universe, titans are a major threat to humanity, and they are classified into different categories based on their height and abilities.

The first type of Titan is the Pure Titan, which is the most common type. They are normal Titans and are easier to kill and predict, making them less dangerous than the other types. But that doesn’t mean that they are weak or anything. A good example of a Pure Titan is the Bearded Titan.

The second type is the Abnormal Class, which is rare but highly dangerous. They are intelligent and usually perform bizarre and unpredictable movements, making them difficult to defeat. The Abnormal Class Titans often pose a greater threat to humans than the Pure Titans, and they require a higher level of skill to overcome. One of the most notable Abnormal Titans is The Talking Titan and Connie’s Mom.

However, the most powerful type of Titan is the Titan Shifters. There are only nine of them, and each possesses a unique power. The nine Titan Shifters are the Colossal, Armored, Female, AttackBeast, Cart, Jaw, Warhammer, and Founding Titan

They can transform into a titan and can conceal their identity within society. The Nine Titans all have unique traits and different powers. The Founding Titan has the ability to control other titans. The Female and Attack Titan can crystalize their bodies. The Colossal Titan can release steam or even detonate itself. The Armored Titan is ridiculously solid and nearly invincible due to its armor.

The Titan Shifters are the greatest threat to humanity and require a special kind of weapon to defeat (such as the Thunder Spear). The war between the titans and humanity is further complicated by the existence of the Titan Shifters and their immense power. But when it comes to power, who do you think is the strongest Attack on Titan characters?

Plot

The Beginning

AOT Colossal Titan

Let’s have a quick recap, shall we? We were first introduced to the world of Paradis, a land protected by an impenetrable wall, where Eldians lived in peace. But the peace was shattered when the Colossal Titan appeared, towering over the walls and kicking a hole in their defenses, unleashing an endless onslaught of devastation. But don’t you know that this is one of the best AOT episodes?

Young Eren, witnessing the Smiling Titan’s devouring of his mother, vowed to destroy all Titans. A few years later, he and his friends, Mikasa and Armin, joined the Scout Regiment. After undergoing hardcore training, they were sent on countless missions and experienced the true brutality of battle, which often resulted in the painful and gruesome deaths of our beloved characters. During these missions little did they know, Eren possessed the power to transform into a Titan and he himself didn’t know about this ability either.. He underwent a trial and was nearly executed, after proving himself to the people, they used his powers to take back what the titans had stolen from them.

But as they fought throughout the series, they learned that titans were once people, and even fellow Eldians, were oppressed and abused by the Marleyan government. Our heroes found themselves killing their own kind, but the battles only grew more perilous, with revelations, betrayals, and never-ending death and chaos.

Humanity’s Downfall

Eren transform 2

In the final chapter of their saga, Eren invaded Marley, claiming the War Hammer Titan, but was soon imprisoned for his insubordination. With the help of his brother, Zeke Yeager, the Beast Titan, Eren broke free and formed an alliance. But it was a ruse, a means to an end, for Eren had his sights set on Ymir, the founder.

Coordinate

Through cunning persuasion, Eren gained the power of the founder and became a mass murderer. His friends knew they must stop his madness for the sake of all humanity. The fate of the world hung in the balance as Eren and his comrades clashed in a battle of epic proportions, with the very future of their world at stake. But what if we told you that The Rumbling is not real?

Production

Hajime Isayama

Hajime Isayama who dreamed of becoming a manga artist, moved to Tokyo at the age of 20 to pursue his dream. He approached many publishing companies, but they all told him the same thing: “they liked his storyline, but the quality of his art was poor.” He was losing hope until he met Kodansha, the only publisher that appreciated his work.

According to Isayama, the idea for Attack on Titan came from a computer game where the world was attacked by aliens. Isayama thought it would be more interesting if these creatures were man-eating monsters, a story where it depicts the brutality of titans. He based this concept on his own experiences growing up on a farm, where he realized that all living beings must consume other beings to survive.

Isayama admits that he wasn’t good at academics and thought he might never find a decent job. If he hadn’t become a manga artist, he might have worked in an internet cafe. He never expected his work to become a massive hit, not only in Japan but also around the world.

Despite never expecting his work to become a worldwide phenomenon, Attack on Titan has captured the hearts of fans around the globe, cementing Isayama’s place as a talented and successful manga artist.
