How Many Fillers Are There in Magi?
Magi has a total of 50 episodes with no fillers at all. Can you believe that? However, there are some mixed fillers that were incorporated into some canon episodes. For example, episode numbers 21,22,23,24, and 25 are both Canon and Fillers. However, it’s still not recommended to skip any of them because they are part of the plot. Even they these episodes will have some flashbacks, it still makes sense to watch them because they’re part of the storyline.

About Magi
Magi, also known as, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, is an adventure fantasy Anime that was written by Shinobu Ohtaka. The actual manga was run from June 2009 to October 2017, making it a long-running one. A lot of people love Magi due to its fantasy-centric adventurous events. So, let’s talk about the storyline.
Magi Plot
Magi incorporates our MC named Aladdin. Aladdin decides to travel the whole world with his friend named Ugo. Ugo is a Djinn that is in Aladdin’s flute. He found Ugo from the flute and decided to travel the whole world in order to get Djinn’s Metal Vessels. This is where Alibaba invites Aladdin to this dungeon in hopes of using his magical abilities.
Together, along their way, our heroes have to fight so many people, face a lot of adversity, and kick a lot of butts in order to thrive. Will Magi be able to handle all the heads that are gonna come along the way? Well, you’ll have to watch the series to find that out.
Magi Story Arcs
Dungeon Arc (Episode 1-3)
The first Magi Arc to ever air as the actual Anime, Dungeon Arc includes the introduction of our MCs. It introduced Aladdin, Alibaba, and Morgiana, In this arc, we also see Alibaba getting powers from Amon. In these episodes, we see flashbacks where Aladdin is making a wish to be released. He’s legit begging for food from Bandits for the team.
After that, Aladdin and the team travel with Alibaba and talk about the plan to capture a dungeon for themselves. In the midst of all this, our heroes get attacked and Mina falls off a cliff. Alibaba and Aladdin save Mina by working together with each other. This is where Alibaba also gets into the desert hyacinth, however, Aladdin gets serious and saves him. This arc covers episodes 1-3 and manga chapters 1-16.
Kouga Arc (Episode 4-5)
A rather short arc that everyone loves, Kouga arc covers episodes 4-5 and manga chapters 17-26. Aladdin and Alibaba captured the dungeon successfully, however, after leaving the dungeon, we see Aladdin is left into a faraway country’s grasslands. He lives with the Equestrian tribe who are the Kouga Clan. This is where Aladdin meets an old woman named Rukh.
At the end of this arc, Aladdin prepares to leave the country, he clears all the misunderstandings with the Kouga Clan and bids them a farewell. In his way, he recalls all the memories that had happened in the past days and made Ugo his friend. Now, our hero is heading to Balbadd.
Morgiana Arc (Episode 6)
The third arc of Magi incorporates the story of Morgiana trying to save prisoners and Aladdin from some slave merchants who’re trying to sell them off. Morgiana, Sahsa, and Leila are trying their best to self items. However, she has nightmares of Jamil abusing her. But Goltas told her that Jamil is not around anymore and everything is fine.
Amidst saving the slaves, Morgiana quickly recognizes Aladdin. This is where Magi tells her all the story on how he ended up here. And after winning the battle against slave merchants, Morgiana and Aladdin say goodbye to Sahsa and Leila.
Balbadd Arc (Episodes 7-17)
As weird as the name sound, this is one of the most important Magi Arc ever. The 4th story arc incorporates Alibaba trying to save his country called Balbadd. This is the first time we get to see a famous villain who’s known as Al Thamen. Other than Al Thamen, we see other major characters like Sinbad, Cassin, Ren, Judan. In this season, Alibaba finally learns how to use the Metal Vessel that he possesses.
Sindria Arc (Episode 18-20)
The fifth arc in the Magic series, this one covers only two episodes. It incorporates our main characters living in Sindria and training themselves to become stronger to fight the next challenge. We also see Eight Generals being introduced in this one.
Zagan Arc (Episode 20-25)
Zagan Arc is the sixth one. It includes our MC trying to fight the Dungeon Zagan. Hakuryuu’s Djinn is revealed and his name is Zagan. Now, they must fight Zagan who became irresponsible and fought our heroes.
Second Sindria Arc (Episode 26-27)
In this arc, Sindbad is trying to get more power for the sake of his country. It also includes all the main characters planning and deciding what to do for the best future!
Pirates Arc (Episode 28-31)
Pirates Arc involves Aladdin, Morgiana, Hakuryuu, and Alibaba helping a country that got destroyed by the pirate crew. The crew kidnaps children and now our main characters must find a way to bring the children back. Will they be able to do it? You’ll have to find out.
World Exploration Arc (Episode 32-37)
Alibaba, Morgiana, Hakuryuu, and Aladdin, our main characters, all went their separate way. This arc tells us the story of each individual and how their lives are after they went on their own journeys.
Magnostadt Arc (Episode 38-50)
The last arc for Anime, this arc contains Aladdin at the Magnostadt Academy, trying his best to find out what is the connection of this academy with Al Thamen. This is where a huge war gets declared!
