While My Hero Academia has loads of heroes, it has an equal amount of villains, as well. The villains are so unique and interesting that we can’t help falling in love with them. They’re given their own unique personalities and backstories that make us sympathize with them to some extent. But that doesn’t mean their actions are right. Still, we’re very much fond of them. So today, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best villains from My Hero Academia. Let’s get started!

BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA VILLAINS

35. Cider House

Cider House is a group of villains who started coming into action during the holiday season, stealing people’s money. They closely observed the streets and heroes’ schedule for over a month and came out with a plan to terrorize the civilians. The leader of this group has a quirk that allows him to manipulate carbonated water. He can also create a massive wave of water and is able to surf on it. This allows him to be quick while looting the things he wants.

34. Shin Nemoto

Shin Nemoto is one of the eight members of Kai Chisaki’s Shie Hissaki. He doesn’t trust anyone easily and is highly cynical. He is emotionless and no one has seen him being happy or excited. He states that he hasn’t met anyone as sincere and pure as Kai Chisaki so he puts his trust in him. He thinks that he’s special in the group because he’s the one who has knowledge about Kai Chisaki’s plans. He considers him worthy of walking side by side with Kai Chisaki.

Like other members of the Shie Hissaki, Shin is also very loyal to Kai Chisaki. His quirk, Confession, makes his victims answer his questions truthfully and they can’t lie to him at all. It’s particularly useful when he needs to extract some important information from them.

33. Toya Setsuno

Toya Setsuno is one of the members of the Shie Hissaki that Kai Chisaki created. He’s a bold, loud and boisterous man. He had a tragic past and seems to not have moved on from those events as he once tried to commit suicide. He appears to be mentally unstable as well. As he has lost all of his dignity, he has devoted the rest of his life to Kai Chisaki because of how amazing he finds him.

As he feels like garbage like the rest of the members of the Shie Hissaki, he has formed a strong bond with the other seven members of the group because of their same views about themselves. Toya’s quirk is named Larceny and it allows him to steal any object from its target’s hands and relocate it in his own hands. However, he needs to see his target for that and there is a limit to the things’ size.

32. Big Sis Magne

Big Sis Magne was one of the members of the League of Villains. Despite being a woman, Big Sis Magne looks exactly like a huge guy who’s always up for a fight; a delinquent basically. She’s absolutely ruthless and brutal when it comes to fighting. She wanted a free life and that’s exactly why she joined the League of Villains. She refused to join the Shie Hissaki because she couldn’t see the freedom there. She’s intelligent and a quick thinker. She’s also very perceptive of what’s going on around her. Big Sis Magne’s quirk, Magnetism, allows her to magnetize humans.

31. Deidoro Sakaki

Diedoro Sakaki is one of the members of the Shie Hissaki. He’s an alcoholic and can be seen drowning in alcohol all the time. Despite being intoxicated, he’s seen to have perfect precision and aims the daggers right where they need to be. Due to being intoxicated all the time, he’s shown to have slurred speech. He also has some weird habits that others find creepy. He’s energetic and quick to get angry. His quirk, Sloshed, allows him to make his targets lose their balance or get dizzy. That way, he can catch him off-guard.

30. Yu Hojo

Yu Hojo is one of the members of the group Kai Chisakii created. He’s a calm, collected and serious individual who doesn’t like speaking much. He’s extremely loyal to Kai Chisaki. He’s brutal and ruthless towards his enemies but soft and kind towards his own team members. Yu can’t seem to forgive those who did him dirty in the past and hold a grudge against them. He used to have no confidence at all and considered himself useless. However, Kai Chisaki stroked his ego and made him feel confident in himself.

He feels indebted to Kai Chisaki because he gave him a purpose in his life and is ready to sacrifice himself for Kai. His quirk, Crystallize, allows him to create sharp crystals from his body. It’s pretty much like Red-Riot’s quirk and is useful for both close combat and long-range attacks.

29. Soramitsu Tabe

Soramitsu Tabe is one of the members of the Shie Hissaki. He appears to be severely unstable. He needs to eat all the time. He’s socially inept as his quirk doesn’t allow him to behave well in public. He no longer had any hope for the future and that’s why he joined the Shie Hissaki as it contained a bunch of weirdos who had lost their dignity. He admires his group members and has a strong bond with them. He’s fiercely loyal to Kai Chisaki and is willing to sacrifice his own life for Kai and the rest of the group members. His quirk, Food, allows him to chew anything pretty easily no matter how hard it is. He’s also able to digest the things he digested quickly.

28. Mimic

Mimic is the general manager of the Shie Hissaki. He’s responsible for all the business matters as well as accounts of the Shie Hissaki. He could be called the treasure of the group because he’s mostly seen counting big stacks of money. He’s quick to get angry and will attack anyone who tries to humiliate his boss in any way. Though he mostly shouts at his team members, he cares deeply for them and has a strong bond with them. Mimic’s quirk, Mimicry, allows him to manipulate other things by transferring his own mind and body into it.

27. Moonfish

Moonfish is a member of the Vanguard Action Squad and a villain affiliated with the League of Villains. His quirk, Blade-tooth, allows him to enlarge his teeth and reshape them however he wants. It’s a powerful but definitely creepy quirk. He seems insane and is always seen talking to himself. He’s obsessed with consuming flesh and is distracted if his craving gets out of hand. He joined the League of Villains only because he could consume more flesh without getting caught. He constantly told Shoto and Bakugou to not distract him with their flesh during a fight.

26. Lady Nagant

Lady Nagant is a pro-hero turned villain. She’s a serious and focused person who is willing to hurt anyone who comes in her way of achieving her goal. She’s fearless as she didn’t get scared of All For One upon their meeting. In her past, Lady Nagant used to be good-natured and positive. However, her superiors taught her to kill unjustly and due to so many killings, she became evil. She believes that the Heroes are deeply corrupted and wants a world free of heroes and their corruption. Lady Nagant’s quirk, Rifle, allows her to create a rifle from her right elbow. She’s also able to create a lot of different bullets.

25. Kendo Rappa

Kendo is an extremely violent and aggressive guy who is up for fighting all the time. He’s always looking for opponents who can satisfy him with their skills. He does not believe in relying on weapons for fighting. He uses his body to fight his opponents. Unlike other members of the Shie Hissaki, he’s only serving Kai Chisaki because he believes that he’d be able to defeat him one day. He loves initiating fights and provoking his opponents so they fight him with their full potential. He possesses a sense of honor and is willing to fight alone without anyone’s help. His quirk, Strongarm, makes him rotate his shoulder at an incredible speed, hitting his targets with immense strength.

24. Curious

Curious is one of the members of the Meta Liberation Army. As her name suggests, she’s highly curious and greatly interested in journalism. She was obsessed with getting a good and moving story so that she could publish it. She wanted to win people’s hearts with her interesting and genuine stories. Curious is shown to be interested in Himiko Toga’s past and wants to create a story about it. She’s a fearless woman who is extremely reckless when it comes to fighting. While she was fighting Himiko, she was visibly in danger as she was going to be stabbed by Himiko’s knife. But she was still very much excited to fight her. Her quirk, Landmine, can turn anything into a bomb once she touches it.

23. Muscular

Muscular is a part of the Vanguard Action Squad and is also affiliated with the League of Villains. He’s a huge man who loves terrorizing people and is always up for a bloody fight. He’s extremely brutal and doesn’t hesitate attacking anyone who tries to annoy him. He has a sadistic personality and is obsessed with shedding the blood of his opponents. He believes himself to be superior to others and tends to look down on others. His ego is inflated but despite that, he compliments Izuku Midoriya’s strengths. He doesn’t really have a goal in mind when he’s fighting and killing people. He kills just for the thrill of it. His quirk, Pump-Up, allows him to manipulate his muscles and increase their strength and speed.

22. Mustard

Mustard is a member of the Vanguard Action Squad and is also affiliated with the League of Villains. He’s a practical individual who thinks before actually taking action. He’s not reckless like most villains. Just like other villains, he shows no mercy to anyone. He tends to look down upon the heroes as well. He believes that the students of U.A are pampered little babies and hates the fact that they feel superior to others. That’s what he wants to change about the world. Mustard’s quirk, Gas, allows him to create a kind of gas that can put others to sleep.

21. Spinner

Spinner is affiliated with the League of Villains and later became one of the lieutenants of Paranormal Liberation Front. Just like other villains, Spinner has no respect for heroes. He greatly admires Stain and follows his path. He even dresses up like Stain And copies his style. Because he follows Stain, he has his morals in check. As he had been bullied in the past for his appearance, he’s greatly surprised whenever somebody compliments him.

He cares deeply for his comrades and is ready to sacrifice his own life in order to protect them. Spinner started to question All For One’s goal as he did not want to follow them. This shows that Spinner has some sense of morality. Spinner’s quirk, Gecko, gives him the properties of a Gecko and makes him act like one.

20. Mr. Compress

Mr. Compress is a villain affiliated with the League of Villains. Later, he becomes one of the lieutenants of the Paranormal Liberation Front. He’s a flashy and boisterous guy who loves to talk a lot. He also jokes a lot for some reason. He’s shown to be arrogant with his opponents as well as his comrades. Despite this, he cares for his comrades and trains the younger members. Like other heroes, he also believes that heroes are corrupted and wants to change society. His quirk, Compress, allows him to compress anything into a small marble.

19. Giran

Giran is affiliated with the League of Villains and also works as a scout to recruit new members in the organization. He loves money and doesn’t care about anything or anyone else. He always has a confident smirk on his face. He’s also quite eccentric. No matter how obsessed with money he is, he will not accept any offer from anyone he doesn’t like. He knows ethics and will not disclose any information of his clients to anyone, even when he’s subjected to extreme torture. He possesses kindness in his heart to some extent, especially for his clients. His quirk, Muddied, makes his target forget about their memories 5 minutes prior and after.

18. Nine

Nine is the main antagonist in the Movie “My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising”. Nine is a calm, collected and emotionless man who is unfazed by everything around him. He remains cool-headed even in dangerous situations. Despite his cold and emotionless demeanor, Nine does care for his comrades. He wants to fulfill their dreams as well as his. He believes that those with stronger quirks should be allowed to control the society, not the weaker ones. He doesn’t want to kill innocent civilians but threatens them to hand him over their quirks. This shows that Nine doesn’t like shedding the blood of innocent human beings. Nine had 7 different quirks given to him by Dr Kyudai.

Weather Manipulation is his original quirk that allowed him to manipulate the weather to his will.
All For One was the quirk that allowed him to use six other quirks. It was weaker in comparison to the original All For One.
Air Wall allows him to create a barrier of air in front of him in order to protect himself.
Scanning makes him get to know about others’ quirks by scanning them.
Bullet Laser allows him to create purple lasers from his fingertips.
Hydra allows him to manifest a bunch of dragon-shaped attacks that he can control at will
Cell-Activation allows him to regenerate cells in his body, allowing him to heal himself or others.

17. La Brava

La Brava is the kind of individual who falls in love pretty easily. Her first rejection left her devastated. She got extremely depressed and wanted to kill herself. However, after watching Gentle Criminal’s videos, she got some hope and broke free of her depression. When Gentle Criminal accepted her, she was over the moon. She was fiercely loyal and protective towards Gentle Criminal. She was ready to sacrifice her life for him. She’s quite intelligent and was able to hack U.A’s system, granting her access to everything. She has a very interesting quirk. Her quirk, Love, allows her to boost the powers of the one she tells how much she loves them.

16. Gentle Criminal

Gentle Criminal makes him look like a gentleman but a flamboyant and dramatic one. He loves showing odd himself on the internet to other people. His internet persona has taken over his real life persona as well. He didn’t handle criticism well initially but was able to pick himself up and face his haters confidently. He doesn’t like using violence on innocent civilians. His targets are those who do not appear to be a gentleman to him. He loves being popular but doesn’t really care about having loads of money. His quirk, Elasticity, allows him to make anything stretch once he touches it.

15. Twice

Twice is a loud and funny guy who has two different personalities, apparently. His two different personalities clash a lot and he contradicts himself after saying every sentence. He’s actually like that because of his mental instability. He went insane due to his identity crisis. He actually used to create clones of himself because he was a very lonely man. He tends to trust others easily because he quickly wants to make friends. He gets devastated if he is betrayed by those he considers his friends. Other than that he cares deeply for his comrades and doesn’t want to see them hurting. Twice’s quirk, Double, makes him create clones of anyone he wants.

14. Himiko Toga

Himiko is shown to always have a creepy smile on her face. She’s obsessed with Deku and wants to be close to him all the time. She also has this twisted idea about friendship. Other than that, Himiko is sadistic and loves torturing others. Himiko is fearless and a very skilled combatant. She believes in a free world without heroes dictating everyone. She’s a free-spirited individual who does what she wants. Her quirk, Transform, allows her to transform into anyone she wants. She can also mimic their voice.

13. Skeptic

Skeptic is the lieutenant of the Meta Liberation Army. He strongly believes in using his quirk however he wants and does not follow the rules of the Hero Society. He’s also a staunch follower of Re-Destro and his cause. He also cares deeply for his comrades. He’s very reckless during the battle but rarely gets into trouble. He gets absolutely merciless if someone is trying to hurt his comrades. His quirk, Anthropomorphic, allows him to create puppets of his targets and control them.

12. Kurogiri

Kurogiri was created by Kyudai Garaki from the corpse of Oboro Shirakumo and was tasked with looking after Tomura Shigaraki. He’s a calm, collected and level headed individual. He’s fiercely loyal to both All for One and Tomura Shigaraki. He’s extremely polite and talks politely even with the heroes.

He always introduces himself in a formal manner. However, he doesn’t value anyone’s life and will not hesitate to kill anyone who tried to attack All For One or Tomura Shigaraki. He doesn’t have any problem with Tomura’s personality and keeps taking care of him and obeying his orders. He was actually made to obey orders. Kurogiri’s quirk, Warp Gate, allows him to manipulate dark fog that also acts as a portal to another location.

11. Trumpet

Trumpet is a leader of the Heart and Mind Party and also a member of the Meta Liberation Army. He’s a calm, collected and levelheaded man who doesn’t let anything faze him. He’s extremely intelligent and manipulative. He’s a natural leader and is able to pump up his subordinates. He knows how powerful he is and tends to be arrogant as well. Like all other members of the Meta Liberation Army, Trumpet is extremely loyal to Re-Destro and his cause. He knows how to use people for his own good. He uses his Quirk, Incite, to pump up his followers and enhance their abilities.

10. Kyudai Garaki

Kyudai is a twisted doctor who is fiercely loyal to All For One. He was not very fond of Tomura, nor did he believe that Tomura is worthy of succeeding All For One’s power. He has created a lot of Nomus that have wreaked havoc everywhere. Kyudai is extremely proud of his deadly creations. He doesn’t trust others easily and is very secretive. He’s very protective of the Nomus he created. He’s seen to be visibly upset when they’re killed by Mirko. He appears to be calm and collected most of the time but is prone to panic when he sees heroes. His quirk, Life Force, makes him appear younger than he actually is. He claims to have lived 12o years but doesn’t look that old.

9. Stain

Stain aka Hero Killer is a villain famous for having killed a lot of Pro Heroes. He’s an extremely cold, ruthless and aggressive guy who takes no mercy on anyone. He considers all heroes corrupt and according to him, the only true hero is All Might. He wants to destroy the Hero Society and wants to live in a society free of heroes. Though Stain is ruthless, he avoids shedding the blood of innocent civilians. His targets are always heroes and he shows no mercy with them. He acknowledges only those heroes who are pure and are not heroes for money and fame. Stain’s Quirk, Blood Curdle, allows him to paralyze anyone after tasting their blood.

8. Hood

Hood was a high intelligence Nomy created by Dr Kyudai Garaki. He’s obedient to Kyudai and does whatever he tells him to. Hood couldn’t speak properly and stuttered whenever he tried to speak. He always targeted stronger opponents and was excited to fight them. If he defeated one of his opponents, he would get bored and move on to the next one. After beating Endeavor, he started wondering if there were other heroes as strong as him. He possessed exceptional intelligence which gave him an upper hand during his fight with Endeavor. Hood has multiple quirks that allow him to manipulate his limbs, regenerate, fly and even store other things within his body.

7. Gigantomachia

Gigantomachia is affiliated with the League of Villains. He used to be a bodyguard of All for One and later, the All for One’s Successor Tomura Shigaraki. Despite his intimidating appearance, Gigantomachia is surprisingly very polite. However, he can quickly become annoyed and aggressive if someone doesn’t listen to him. He’s quite impatient as well. He’s fiercely loyal to All for One just like his other subordinates. When he’s showcasing his extreme rage, only All for One’s voice can calm him down. If all for One orders him to destroy everything, he will destroy everything without a second thought. Gigantomachis’s quirk, Endurance, allows him to increase his powers using his morale.

6. Kai Chisaki

Kai Chisaki is the leader of the Shie Hissaki. He’s a calm and collected man who is also an antisocial and a sociopath. Because of his mysophobia and the theory that quirks came from rats, he wants a world without quirks. He believes that because of these quirks, humanity has contracted an “illness”. He absolutely despises those who use their quirks for their own good and tends to look down upon them. He has a massive ego and believes that he’s the only person who is not corrupted by his quirk. He’s intelligent and always thinks before taking any action. Other than that, Kai is a germaphobe. He hates touching anything that he considers filthy and breaks out as soon as he touches that thing. Kai Chisaki’s quirk, Overhaul, allows him to manipulate matter when he touches it.

5. Geten

Geten was a member of the Meta Liberation Army and later he became a member of the Paranormal Liberation Front. He is very loyal to Re-Destro and respects him a lot as he made him extremely powerful. He also believes that those with more power should be at the top. He doesn’t tolerate anyone trying to come in the way of Re-Destro. He is a skilled combatant and takes great pride in his quirk, Ice Manipulation, which allows him to fight.

4. Re-Destro

Re-Destro appears to be a completely normal, cheerful and easy-going person. He believes in creating a world where people with complicated and weird quirks are accepted. However, behind his generally cheerful demeanor, he’s a ruthless and selfish man who doesn’t hesitate killing anyone who gets in his way. He’s not satisfied with how things are with the Hero Society and wants to change the world. He’s also quite arrogant and is proud of his abilities. His quirk, Stress, allows him to convert stress and anger into power.

3. Dabi

Dabi is the eldest son of Endeavor who joined the Villain League in order to take revenge from his abusive and neglectful father, Endeavor.. As a child, Dabi was extremely energetic and determined. He was obsessed with surpassing All Might and his father and would train excessively for that. He trained so much that he burned himself in the process.

He also wanted to be acknowledged by Endeavor after being neglected and left with a heavy weighing dream . As a result, Dabi turned dark and distant, eventually running away from his home and becoming a villain. After becoming a villain, Dabi became reserved, cold and aloof, not showing any emotion. He also became extremely powerful and was all up to fight Endeavor and all other heroes. Dabi’s quirk, Blueflame, allows him to create highly destructive Blue Flames from his body.

2. Tomura Shigaraki

Tomura Shigaraki is a sadistic and twisted individual who enjoys destroying things. His Decay quirk allows him to destroy anything and anyone he touches, making villainy easy for him. He doesn’t care about anyone except All for One who made him extremely strong. He absolutely detested heroes and wished for their downfall no matter what. He also held the League of Villains dear to him and didn’t tolerate anyone underestimating it anyway. Tomura’s quirk, Decay, can turn anything to dust after he touches it.

1. All For One

All For One is our heroes’ most formidable opponent who refuses to give up on his evil plans. He’s a sadistic man who prefers controlling everything from the shadows. All for One has a lot of followers but he doesn’t care about them at all. He will abandon them instantly if they’re of no use to him anymore. He’s using Tomura because he knows how powerful he is and he might be the key to crushing the Hero Society. All For One has always been evil and will definitely give our heroes a tough time. His quirk, All For One, allows him to steal anyone’s quirk after he touches them. He can use multiple quirks as well.

Conclusion

My Hero Academia is full of very interesting villains that have their own goals and aspirations. Their reasons are not invalid, to be honest. However, their ways really are.
