CHARACTERS INCLUDED
When it comes to a diversity of characters, Cowboy Bebop has to be included in the list. There are so many skilled characters in this anime. We have our MC with extraordinary luck along with perfect eyesight unlike you all. On the other hand, we have a gorgeous girl named Faye Valentine who can punch anybody real hard. I mean, I wouldn’t mind getting punched by her.😭 Anyways, we’ll learn about the characters in detail below! Without further ado, let’s get started!
Spike Spiegel
Spike Spiegel is our main character who got rejected by a woman named Julia. He used to be a member of the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate. He left that criminal organization after getting involved with Julia and after faking his death. Imagine the woman of your dreams does you dirty. Poor Spike, he deserved better.
Anyways, after leaving the criminal organization, he joined Jet Black, who’s an officer. Spike became a bounty hunter. Jet Black is the captain of Bebop. Both of these cool-looking men started pursuing criminals from all around the world. This boy has a spaceship as well. It’s called Swordfish II. I’m sure you were expecting some unique name for the spaceship like Elon Musk’s son’s name.
When it comes to Spike’s personality, he’s super chill and friendly. Although we see him in his lazy-mode most of the time. He likes to spend the majority of his time watching T.V or sleeping. If you’re a lazy human, you’re Spike Spiegel for sure.
Jet Black
Jet Black is also one of our main characters who stays by the side of Spike. He used to be an officer belonging to the ISSP. But after some circumstances, he became a bounty hunter and came across our crackhead MC. Along with Spike, Faye Valentine, and Edward, he started the journey of bounty-hunting. He’s surely one of the coolest characters.
His time in the ISSP proved his stubbornness with catching criminals, he was called the “Black Dog” by everyone. Even though his work was quite tough, yet a woman named Alisa made him hopeful. He could get through the tough situations thanks to that woman. However, everyone comes and goes as they please. Therefore, this woman left Jet Black with a note saying “farewell” with a pocket watch. Nothing can be sadder than this.
As far as his personality is concerned, he’s wise and mature. Unlike Spike, he remains rather serious all the time. He has great patience and If he was my dad, I would’ve been so happy and would learn a lot of life-lessons from him.
Faye Valentine
Moving on, we’ve got the cutest character aka Faye Valentine. Some people either hate or love her. Who are you? I mean, do you love this character or do you hate her? Faye is one of the members of the bounty-hunters squad. She works with Spike and Jet Black. With her chin-length purple hair, she can win anyone’s heart.
She’s pretty much like Spike. However, she’s arrogant. While others are out there fighting for bounties, she’s lying around and checking out her appearance. Yes, she likes to take care of herself and check out her appearance again and again. Honestly, if I was her, I’d have done the same. She can do this because she’s pretty. I remember once a legend said, “The world will forgive me because I’m beautiful”. Yes, it was Boa Hancock. Anyways, if you’re Faye Valentine, you care what people think about your physical appearance.
Vicious
Vicious was one of the members of Red Dragons Syndicate Crime. Not much is known about his early life. We do know that he became a strong nakama with Spike, Julia, and some other members. Some circumstances took place between Spike and him which started a fire. Due to those circumstances, both of them got separated.
He’s a tall man with gray hair. When it comes to his weapon choice, he loves using a katana. OMG, he’s a man of culture. Just like Ash, his pet is right above his shoulder. Although he’s just 27 years old, he might look like an old man due to his gray hair. Just like his sadistic nature, he loves smiling sadistically.
Vicious is cold, and sadistic. He prefers isolation instead of hanging out with people. His ruthless nature will shake your spine. Vicious is even feared by his seniors! He simply doesn’t care about anyone or any specific old traditions. That’s why we call him a disrespectful brat. Apart from his sadistic smile, we never see him smile in the anime. I’m sorry if you got Vicious as your Cowboy Bebop character. 😭
Julia
Julia was one of the members of Red Dragons Syndicate Crime. She was a fellow member of Spike and Vicious. She’s surely very dangerous. Spike being the impulsive guy he is, he once got injured badly and Julia was the nurse who fixed his injuries. Spike took risks for her. Even though she dated Vicious, she tried to get together with Spike. The story of Julia and Spike is quite sad. She was shot and was lying in the arms of Spike. Her last words were “It’s a dream”. Spike replied, “Yeah, just a dream”. I’m not crying, you are!
Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivruski IV
Edward surely looks like a smart hacker. Her father used to be a cartographer. A cartographer is someone who makes maps. Imagine your father left you at a daycare centre but forgot to pick you up just because he’s forgetful. Yes, Edward faced these things as she was growing up.
However, it’s true that she spent some time at the orphanage and her bestie was Tomato there. Tomato was quite passionate about computers, that’s why she named her computer Tomato. Isn’t that sweet? If we talk about her personality, she’s a very childish, cheerful, and happy kid. You won’t stay sad if you have Edward by your side. If you got Edward, then you’re free-spirited and love freedom.
Conclusion
Cowboy Bebop is a retro anime that makes you want to jump into its world. Nobody would like to skip such an aesthetically pleasing anime. If you haven’t watched it, consider this a sign from the universe to watch!
