Hello everyone! Oh boy oh boy. This blog is a big one. Today, we present you with a list of the Chronological Order of the ever so confusing Boruto series.
I did a Boruto Filler blog not too long ago, so be sure to check it out Boruto can be tricky to watch given its arguably long episode listing. That’s why we decided to make your lives a bit easier.

If you know anyone who is having trouble with the watch order of Boruto, do them a favor and send them this blog. There aren’t any major spoilers in this blog, and if there are, I made sure to give you a warning beforehand.
Without further ado, let’s get started with Boruto: The Chronological Watch Order.

Break Down of the Arcs:

Surely you didn’t think I was going to give a list then leave. I find giving a quick summary of the arcs to be helpful, at least for me.
There may be a few spoilers down below, but I tried hard not to be specific about anything. I don’t know if it’s a bad or good thing, but what’s done is done I guess.
Please enjoy!
1. Academy Entrance Arc

This is one heck of an arc to start off Boruto. I mean, it has to be great because this is a continuation of the epic Naruto series.
In this arc, we are introduced to the children of the previous Naruto generation. Yeah, I know. My babies have grown so fast.
The Academy Entrance arc makes sure to let us know who our main character is for this franchise—Boruto, the son of Naruto Uzumaki.
Now, we’re not just introduced to a new entire cast, but also to a dire problem. People are losing their chakra left and right, and no one knows why.
Will Boruto be able to focus long enough to figure out how to save these people?
2. Sarada Uchiha Arc

Sarada, I’m sure you know by now, is the daughter of Sakura and Sasuke. If she doesn’t become the female character I wanted Sakura to be, I’m going to lose it. Sakura is fine, but I wanted to see more of her abilities and intelligence.
Anyway, we learn more about Sarada, or rather, what we don’t know. Sarada is questioning her biological relationships. What do I mean by that?
She thinks Sakura isn’t her real mother. And it doesn’t help that Sakura, her alleged mother, doesn’t wear glasses.
Has Sarada never taken Misconceptions of Heredity Traits in her biology class? Or is the Academy only based on fighting skills?
3. School Trip Arc

I love me a good field trip. However, I wouldn’t want to be on this one, that is for sure. Our beloved Hokage, Naruto, believes that the students should have more refined school trips.
This school trip is to the Village Hidden in the Mist. That sounds cool, right? Mist. Hidden. Calm. Serene. Chill. Relaxing.
It sure seems like a great idea. So why is Boruto smack dab in the middle of life threatening fights?! What went wrong?!
Like always, whenever I am confused, I blame Boruto. It is nine times out of ten his fault. Even if he is in the right. I’m just kidding, you know I adore Boruto. I simply bully him out of love. Don’t do that at home kids. Or anywhere for that matter. Please.
4. Graduation Exams Arc

What do you think this arc is going to be about? If you guessed the graduation exams ninjas need to take, then yes. You are correct. Thank God.
The character you should be focusing on is not Boruto, but Shino Aburame. You’re a psychopath if you don’t want to pinch Shino’s cheeks! He’s so adorable! Sure, he only has a poker face, but I just know deep down, he can smile.
Shino is a lovely friend to have. He’ll do whatever it takes to protect those he loves. Why am I talking about Shino now? Well, he’s going to be the proctor of the graduation exams.
Yes. YES. He gets some well-deserved screen time.
5. Genin Mission Arc

Do you remember when that whole Team 10 thing was all over YouTube? Yeah, that was a mess. However, we have Team 7 in this series. There’s not much drama between the team members, except the occasional head-butting between Boruto and Sarada.
Team 7 has three members: Boruto (obviously), Sarada, and Mitsuki. In this arc, we watch Team 7 embark on their first ever mission.
I liked this arc because it didn’t only focus on Team 7, but also the other side characters in Boruto. It is a refreshing change from the hot-headed main character.
6. Byakuya Gang Arc

The Byakuya Gang Arc is considered to be a filler arc, but don’t knock it till you try it. Just because something isn’t necessarily a cannon to the main plot of the show, doesn’t mean it is not good.
In this arc, we are introduced to a gang of thieves that wear these weird owl masks. I know, it is creepy.
Who will stop them? Shikidai and Boruto. Surprise!
7. Chunin Exams Arc

If you don’t recognize the title of this arc, that’s okay. Its alternative name is the Versus Momoshiki Arc. Allow me to give you some background information about Miss Kaguya. She was part of the Otsutsuki clan. Notice the ‘was’ in that previous sentence.
She’s a Celestial Being. Without sharing too much, she and another Otsutsuki traveled to Earth thousands of years ago. No, she wasn’t here on vacation. She came to this planet for one thing: draining life’s chakra on the Earth.
She is also super pretty! On top of all that, the Chunin Exams are beginning. She couldn’t wait until exam season was over?! Talk about inconsiderate.
8. Chocho Arc

This is another arc that is considered to be a filler. But hear me out, this is a great change of pace.
In this arc, we learn more about Choco and her easy-going personality. Who is Choco? Choco is basically me but in a more lovable way. She loves food and will not think twice about skipping a lecture.
If I take another class about Calculus, I will go insane. Choco, please take me with you in this arc. I am begging you.
9. Mitsuki’s Disappearance Arc

NOT MY MITSUKI. ANYTHING BUT THAT. I ACTUALLY COULDN’T BREATHE WHEN MITSUKI WENT MISSING.
If you could not tell, Mitsuki is one of my favorite characters. He is a member of Team 7. What’s fascinating about Mitsuki is that he is not by definition a human being. He is a clone of Orochimaru.
Mitsuki is not the type of person to leave his friends behind. So why did he disappear from the Konohagakure village?
Rumor has it that he is a traitor. But I just know that is not true. Right? RIGHT?! Come on Boruto and Sarada. You need to get my munchkin back. I MEAN IT.
10. Naruto Shinden: Family Day Arc

Finally, we get to see some of our favorite main characters—Naruto Uzumaki. Listen, Boruto is a great protagonist. But you just can’t compare the original with the sequel, can you now?
You can criticize me all you want. I know you were thinking about it too. I feel so upset. It took me too long to figure out how to spell the word ‘criticize’. And I still got that wrong. I’m very thankful to have spell-check.
Anyway, this arc is dedicated to Naruto and his family at the Family Day Event. Let’s just hope Boruto doesn’t ruin it. Again, I am simply joking. I love Boruto. But I love slandering his name even more. What are you going to do? Sue me?
11. Jugo Arc

Hm. I’m debating on whether or not I should even give this arc a brief description.
Jugo is not who you may initially think he is. Is that enough to make you watch this arc? He’s linked to Orochimaru. But again, I am giving you a very vague description of him.
I think we can all agree that Orochimaru sucks. He is worse than the devil. He even rivals Integrals and Derivatives. Yeah, he is downright evil.
12. Steam Ninja Scrolls Arc

If you don’t know who Mirai is, she is Naruto’s bodyguard. In this arc, she is given an S class mission by our great Hokage. She is on specific orders to properly escort Kakashi and Guy. What does that entail? She needs to make sure that nothing happens to them.
Sounds pretty serious right? Well, let’s just say that her imagination truly does get the better of her. However, don’t let me trick you. Halloween may have passed, but you still haven’t watched this arc!
This mission does not go as smoothly as everyone had expected—well, Mirai did think something dangerous was going to happen.
13. Konohamaru’s Love Arc

You heard it here first folks. Konohamaru, the handsome bachelor, may finally be off the market. Who is the lucky lady that swept such a stud off his feet? She goes by the name Miss Remon. You are one fortunate lady. I am so jealous it is hilarious.
Will Konohamaru be settling down for good? Who knows! I hope so for his sake, but for my sake, that would have to be a completely different story.Don’t judge me, I have always had a thing for Konohamaru.
14. One-Tail Escort Arc

Here, in this arc, Boruto is slowly becoming a true main character in my own personal opinion. I miss Naruto, and you may think it is wrong to constantly compare them, but I can’t help it.
However, I am impressed with Boruto in terms of his fighting skills. If you are ready to watch Boruto and Otsutski in battle, then this right here is an arc you won’t regret.
Although this is a relatively short arc, do not skip it. Even if I didn’t convince you to watch it, you really need to watch the One Tail Escort arc. Why? It is because it is directly linked to the next arc—the Time Slip Arc.
15. Time Slip Arc

I can successfully persuade you to watch this arc in just three words: Sasuke and Time Travel.
If that was not enough for you, then to be perfectly honest, I got nothing else. You don’t have to like Sasuke, but you can not deny that the battles he’s in aren’t OP.
Sasuke is known as the Shadow Hokage, and let me tell you, he shows off the skills that earned him this title in this arc.
SPOILER: Boruto gets to witness Naruto’s generation when they were kids. AW!
16. Mujina Bandits Arc

This arc is a turning point in the series. We are met with a group of shinobi who have abandoned their village entirely. These shinobi are called Missing nin.
The group’s leader is Shojoji. Now, can you guess what Team 7’s next mission is? No, it is not to capture this group. Instead, they have to do a normal task. If it is so normal, then how come they are face to face with the Mujina Bandits.
Like at this point you have to ask yourself if Boruto is simply trying to get into fights. It’s probably not his fault. It is all thanks to the plot machine.
17. Kara Actuation Arc

Now, this is where the Boruto series gets fun. I suggest that before you watch this arc, you read the manga version. Hold on, let me explain.
The animated Kara Actuation Arc does do the manga justice. However! You could say that these episodes are more like an expansion of the chapters. Does that make any sense? I said the same thing in the Boruto Filler blog because it is so important to keep that in mind.
In this arc, we are introduced to the Kara organization. The leader of this despicable group is known as Ishhiki Otsutsuki. I have never wanted to pummel a person into the ground with only my bare fists. I’m five foot two. I can’t fight, even if I wanted to. But! My hate for this character exceeds my physical capabilities. And I am more than ready to chew his horn off.
If I can’t reach him, I’ll just bring him down with me.
18. Vessel Arc

Everyone gives a round of applause to Boruto. He really showed his worth in this arc. And surprisingly, his character development only goes up from here.
The Vessel Arc is also called the Ao Arc. It is about Kara losing their vessel. Now, Isshiki is raging. And I’m all here for it. I genuinely hope he pops a blood vessel. His blood pressure must be skyrocketing now.
And that’s not the best part! Naruto shows up in this arc! YAY!
19. Kawaki Arc

This is the most recent arc, and it still hasn’t been completed. My favorite part of this arc was Kawaki. Just Kawaki. Not a certain battle or character interaction. Like any scene he is in, I go crazy. It’s so funny because Naruto puts more time into caring for Kara’s vessel than he has cared for Boruto his entire life.
I know it’s wrong for me to laugh at that, but that’s just too comical. There are a lot of strong villains in this arc, so you know the fights are going to be wild.
We get to learn more about Kawaki and his tragic past, as well as the Kara organization. The number of edits I have seen about this arc on TikTok, Instagram, and even YouTube are insane.
The visuals are just to die for. The animators really put in the time and effort in the arc. It’s a stunning line of episodes.
Movies Breakdown:

1. Boruto: Naruto Next Generation

This movie is considered to be the true start of the Boruto series. We are properly introduced to Boruto being the son of the current Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki.
Boruto wants to be like his father, but he does not want to follow in his father’s footsteps of being the next Hokage. That’s Sarada’s dream/
However, Boruto wants to become a powerful ninja. This movie does a great job of portraying Boruto’s personality in a neutral manner.
2. Boruto: Naruto the Movie

This is set right when Boruto is about to take his Chunin Exams. In this movie, Naruto is in grave danger. SPOILER: Momoshiki and Kinishiki Otsutsuki, two Celestial Beings, are the antagonists of the movie. Naruto ends up sacrificing himself in order to protect his village.
Will Sasuke and Boruto be able to save their Hokage? Or is it already too late?
Was The Watch Order Helpful? Let Us Know In The Comments Below!

Aw, are we done? I have to admit, I am harsh on Boruto. But I grew up watching Naruto. I have high expectations for him, which is not fair. He already has enough people judging, especially being the son of a Hokage.
However, I believe Boruto will become the main character that will no longer be known as Naruto’s son. We need to trust the process of puberty and character development. And I am going to do just that.
With this blog at your disposal, you can take note and track Boruto’s growth as an individual ninja. In the beginning, I was not impressed with Boruto.

But as the episodes went by, I noticed Boruto’s subtle changes. For example, he is not lashing out at his father 24/7. Instead, he is gradually understanding the hardships of being both a leader and a father simply by watching Naruto work.
I appreciate a slow burn, so I look forward to the rest of Boruto. And you should too.
