According to the official Twitter account, the movie will be released on October 30th. However, this is the official release date for Japan. Moreover, we’ll have to wait for the official release date for the U.S as the tweet stated. The new key visual was revealed at the Aniplex Online Fest 2021 along with the official release date.

Storyline
“The storyline incorporates Kirito and Asuna, and how they met. A month has already passed since the game began. A huge number of players have already died. On the other hand, Asuna and Kirito are totally different from each other, however, their purpose is the same. Even when they entered the virtual world which is nothing more than hell, both matched with each other and decided to survive no matter how hard it gets.”
Who is Mito in the new movie?
Just like you saw in the trailer, there’s a new girl Mito in the movie that is being played by Inori Minase. Even though there’s not a lot of information about Mito just yet, we know that she plays an important role in the storyline. As appearing in the trailer, Mito looks pretty darn strong, and I can easily tell how she’s going to play her part by becoming a great heroine.
