However, he has to fulfill a certain goal. He must slay the world’s hero and just like that, he is reborn as the son of a noble family of assassins. Before long, the man learns that there is a lot more to assassinations than what he had known.

Be that as it may, Makoto’s heart longs for actual human interaction. How can he fulfill this longing? Watch the anime and find out.
46. Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast For Spirits

I mean how can this be not an Isekai? The title is Bed & Breakfast for Spirits which is what exactly happens in the anime.
Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast For Spirits follows the journey of Aoi Tsubaki who was taken to the Hidden Realm to marry the ogre-god Oodanna, “The Master Innkeeper” to repay her grandfather’s debts of one hundred million yen. Aoi and her grandfather have the power to see spirits or “Ayakashi” and she uses her cooking skills to feed them so they don’t attack humans. But as she is being married to the Oodanna, she refuses and instead opens a diner in his inn for her to pay her grandfather’s debt.
This series is Food Wars and Kaichou wa Maid-Sama cooked together and dipped into that sweet Isekai sauce. It’s one of the rare Isekai that has romance as its main ingredient.
45. My Next Life As A Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom

As she is reincarnated in her favourite game, Fortune Lovers, the main character who is now the villain of the game, Katarina Claes uses her vast knowledge of the game to avoid the unfortunate fate she will have to face. She uses every method she can to not only help herself but change the lives of those around her.
Every Isekai you’ve heard of is where the MC becomes the hero/heroine but My Next Life As A Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! turns the main character of the show into the main antagonist of her newfound world. I’m sure there’s always that one guy that wants to be the villain in an anime series. And if you are that one guy, then this show is for you!
44. High School Prodigies Have It Easy Even In Another World

Have you been called a High School prodigy? Neither have I!
This anime series is where seven genius high school students arrive at Freyjagard, a medieval fantasy world after surviving a plane crash. And what do people who are known as geniuses in the modern world do when they arrive in a kingdom with magic, human-animal hybrids, and elves? Of course, they find a way back to Earth, and while doing that, wreck the fantasy world with their superhuman knowledge!
If these students are as creative as the ones who made Isekai Anime titles such as “I’ve Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years And Maxed Out My Level” then a fantasy world is a piece of cake. Yes, that is a real anime title and maybe you can find it in this list! So keep reading.
43. Sword Art Online

Who hasn’t heard about Sword Art Online? It was one of the greatest Isekai titles released and one of the world’s greatest drawbacks. But wait, It’s making a comeback. And in case you don’t know anything about SAO, here you go!
Sword Art Online is an anime series franchise that happens in the year 2022, where NerveGear is a new gaming platform for the game, Sword Art Online, where players wear a headset similar to VR and control their characters using their thoughts. Kazuto Kirigiya whose in-game name is Kirito plays SAO but then realizes that everyone who also entered the game cannot log out and must complete all the one hundred stages to escape this new universe. What’s dangerous, is when they die at the game, they die in real life!
So don’t wish that SAO will release in VR soon because it’ll be like the Umbrella Company in Resident Evil but Isekai style. If you love sword-action and RPG elements in your Anime then this is a must-watch.
42. Those Who Hunt Elves

This anime is pretty old, but the comedy is very enjoyable. Don’t judge an anime by its age because some will blow your mind.
Those Who Hunt Elves are nothing like Goblin Slayer. The series features a very loud martial artist, an elegant actress, a student that has a tank, and all three were transported to a magical world. When an Elven priestess was about to send them back, her spell was interrupted and the spell fragments were scattered all over the new world. They go on a journey to find the fragments, strip elves and find evil-doers along the way.
The very concept of Those Who Hunt Elves is pretty crazy even in the Isekai genre and it will surely make you laugh.
41. I’m Standing on A Million Lives

The plot follows three students transported into a dark and magical fantasy world full of monsters. They must finish time-limited missions to prevent all the demons and creatures from entering the real world. They are given classes by the Game Master, Shindou becomes a Magician, Hakozaki becomes a Warrior, and Yotsuya becomes one of the most unique classes you can find in any RPG…a FARMER!
These three classmates are standing on a million lives as they are now the defenders of Earth. With a Magician, Warrior, and a Farmer they must survive and protect everyone.
Maybe the Farmer has an upgrade and gains a skill that controls farm animals? Don’t worry about him, I’m sure he must have something up his sleeve, right?
40. Didn’t I Say To Make My Abilities Average In The Next Life!?

You know it gets real when there’s an exclamation point and a question mark in the title. This girl is not kidding when she says she wants average abilities in her next life.
Misato Kurihara was the talk of the town in her previous life and never got to experience a normal life. She dies and is given one wish before she is reincarnated, and she says that she wants to experience being normal. She is then reincarnated as Adele Von Ascham, the daughter of a noble, and has extraordinary magical abilities. So she runs away and tries to live a normal life to the best of her abilities. Didn’t I Say To Make My Abilities Average In My Next Life!? describes her life.
Talk about bad luck huh? Or is it just that she’s too lucky to be average?
39. Outbreak Company

Do you want to put yourself to the test? Ever wondered how it would feel to spread the word of Otaku to the world? Then try watching Outbreak Company.
Shinichi Kanou, an Otaku gets kidnapped by the Eldant Empire, a kingdom in a fantasy world, he is ordered by the Japanese Government to spread Otaku culture and become the “Otaku Missionary”. Talk about a dream job!
It has elves, dwarves, goblins, and quite possibly a harem. I know you’ve been waiting for that word to pop up.
Watch as Shinchi tries to overcome everything from politics to racial discrimination, all in the name of spreading Otaku culture!
38. I’ve Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level

This is it! The very creative title I told you before. The author did a great job, the title says it all.
When Azusa Aizawa dies because of overwork, she is reincarnated in a magical world. This time, she decides to relax. All she does is take care of her plants, defend the local village, and kill at least 25 slimes a day, one of the weakest creatures out there. But what happens when you kill 25 slimes a day for three centuries? Azusa is now level 99, she is then challenged by adventurers all over the world and even a dragon. She then realizes that living life while helping others is better than living alone.
She is the greatest farmer in an RPG game. Azusa is Goblin Slayer: Slime Edition. Just as I said the title, I’ve Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years And Maxed Out My Level describes the series perfectly.
37. Ascendance of a Bookworm

If you love books then this anime is for you. Ascendance of a Bookworm revolves around Urano Motosu who dies before achieving her dream as a librarian. She is then reincarnated as a frail five-year-old girl named Myne in a medieval timeline. She never gives up her love for books, even if there were no books to be found, she decided to make her own! Ascendance of a Bookworm is not all about books but also contains adventure, thrilling scenes, and even comedy
You know, I would do the same thing if I was reincarnated in a world without Manga. The drawing would be not so good though.

36. The Vision of Escaflowne

The Vision of Escaflowne is another vintage Isekai anime that is still a great watch up to this day.
The Vision of Escaflowne follows Hitomi Kanzaki, a 15-year-old girl who was transported into a world where Earth floats in the atmosphere with Van Fanel, a prince of the Kingdom of Fanelia when he fought a dragon on Earth. The kingdom then gets attacked by the dark empire of Zaibach, and Van uses Escaflowne, a war mecha to fight back but fails which destroys Fanelia. He and Hitomi then go on a journey and meet allies on the way to take revenge on Zaibach.
The Vision of Escaflowne is Gundam, Game of Thrones, and Lord of the Rings combined in a single anime. It’s action-packed and has a great story you’ll surely fall in love with.
35. The Boy & The Beast

The Boy & The Beast is different from the previous Isekai mentioned before. It does not involve any RPG elements or killing Slimes. The Boy & The Beast is about the journey of two characters searching for acceptance from their respective worlds. Ren or known as Kyuuta after being an apprentice by Kumatetsu, who is now alone and avoided by his relatives is taken by Kumatetsu to the beast world of Shibuten. This is so that he will have evidence to become the Lord of the Domain.
Although the two of them have very different goals, they unconsciously help each other along the way. Ren just wants to find a home, Kumatetsu to find belonging. It is clear that even as beast and man, there was not much difference between the two.
This is a serious anime that delves into the hidden frontier in the Isekai genre. It is wholesome and presents a wonderful story.
34. Wise Man’s Grandchild

Wise Man’s Grandchild is focused on Shin, a Japanese Salaryman who was reincarnated as an Orphan and adopted by Merlin Walford, a national hero of the Kingdom of Earlshide. Shin becomes very skilled but then realizes that he is socially awkward and lacks common sense since all he’s doing in his life was training until he was 15. He enrols in the kingdom’s Magic Academy, he wants to live a normal life but instantly becomes a celebrity. He meets friends, starts to understand the new world, and protects it at the same time.
From being a Villainess to killing Slimes for 300 years, and now being adopted by Merlin, Isekai sure has a lot in store. There may be even an Isekai where you get reincarnated as a slime.
33. Restaurant To Another World

Had fantasies of how it would be like to run a restaurant where the customers are mythical beings? I know it’s very specific, but I got you fam!
Restaurant To Another World is exactly what it sounds like. Nekoya, a very prominent restaurant in a Tokyo shopping area is renowned for its amazing Western and Japanese food but oddly enough the restaurant is closed on Saturdays. This is because everyone, from dragons to fairies eats at Nekoya.
Fantasy Food Wars is here and is packing you with more content than you can handle. If you’re into cooking anime and fantasy then Restaurant To Another World is a gem you’ll want to check out.
32. In Another World With My Smartphone

We already know the main character’s gonna be overpowered. He’s got a phone in a magical world but does he have the internet?
When God makes a mistake by killing Touya Mochizuki with a lightning bolt, he is given a chance to live in a new world full of magic. Touya accepts but requests to take his mobile phone with him. Girls then flock for his affection and he begins to form his harem as he tries to uncover the mysteries surrounding this new world.
An OP main character and a harem is a typical Isekai trope but what sets this apart is his smartphone. What are you waiting for? Watch it and get to know how he uses his smartphone to his advantage.
31. Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear

That is a lot of “Kuma” in one title, that’s for sure. But wait! Don’t let it deceive you. This is not some cute slice of life anime but is an action-packed Isekai but with a wacky concept.
Yuna, a wealthy shut-in who played a VRMMO World Fantasy Online Game for a year is given a bear suit by the game administrators but what’s cool about it is this gives her character overpowered stats. After wearing the bear equipment she is teleported into the in-game universe. Loving all of that’s happening she decides to become an adventurer and gains the nickname “Bloody Bear” due to her weird outfit and great strength.
Even though there’s a lot of action, it really is cute.
30. Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered But Overly Cautious

What is there to expect? The hero is overpowered but still cautious, now that’s a rare sight.
Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered But Overly Cautious centres around Seiya Ryuuguuin, who is summoned by Ristarte to save Gaeabrande’s planet after he died. He trains very hard, buys absurd amounts of potion, and shows no mercy to his opponents. He is the saviour of Garabrande, a hero who is so cautious that he’ll go to extreme feats just to kill a goblin.
Even by the title, you can tell that Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered But Overly Cautious is full of funny scenes. Even the concept is just comedic to the point where even the name of the planet looks gibberish. If you’re into Konosuba, then you’ll surely love this.
29. By The Grace Of The Gods

I don’t know what’s up with slimes and Isekai but this one is just as weird as the other.
By The Grace Of The Gods’ plot is centred around Ryouma Takebayashi, a small boy who lives in the forest and has an obsession with keeping slimes as pets. Ryouma was given a second chance at life by the gods for him to save the miracles of creation. He meets new people and tries to uncover the wide universe of the new world. As young as he is, he is strong enough to help soldiers and even cast magic.
28. The Ambition of Oda Nobuna

Are you into Japanese History, Samurai, and Warlords? You will love this.
The story of The Ambition Of Oda Nobuna is set in the Sengoku Era War in Japan. Yoshiharu Sagara, a high school boy is teleported to this period and is then saved by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, the mythical hero but at the cost of his life. To fulfil his promise to Hideyoshi that he will become the next feudal lord, he saved Nobuna Oda and became her retainer. Why HER? Because all of the feudal lords in Japan are now girls! Using his experience from playing “Nobunaga’s Ambition” he helps Nobuna conquer Japan and restore the historical timeline.
It is a shock when all feudal lords and generals become hot girls. I know you’ll watch this.
27. The Familiar of Zero

What happens when a self-absorbed magician who can’t cast magic summons one of the strongest familiars from another dimension? She makes it her slave!
It all began when Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière, well that was a mouthful, let’s call her “Louise the None” just like in the anime, is deemed a useless magician even though she attends the most renowned magical academy in her world. When they were tested for a summoning ritual, she created an explosion when it was her turn. Out from that explosion appears Saito Hiraga who becomes Louise’s slave, making him eat off the ground and do her laundry. But little does she know that Saito is one of the greatest familiars.
It’s a fun and wild anime as you follow the journey of these two characters that almost hate each other.

26. Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren’t They?

This Isekai is as great as its title. Why is the title a question, you ask? I don’t know, do I look like the author?
Problem Children Are Coming From Another World Aren’t They? It all begins when a trio of teenagers with psychic abilities receives a letter to enter a place called Little Garden. There, they are told that they have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play high-stakes games using their skills. When they find out that Kurousagi, the one who let them enter Little Garden, has lost his village and land, they set out on a journey to protect their fun new universe and enjoy the things it offers.
What can’t you like about it? It has gambling and an overpowered trio of characters. I’m not saying that gambling is good though.
25. Knights And Magic

You thought it was another fantasy Isekai by reading the title, did you? But NO! This is essentially Medieval Darling in the Franxx with its giant mechs with those humongous swords.
Knights and Magic revolve around Tsubasa Kurata, an otaku from Japan who died in a car crash and got Isekaid in the Fremmevilla Kingdom. In this world, they use giant war robots which they call Silhouette Knights to fight vicious beasts with magical powers.
I doubt that there’s going to be a time where no explosions are going off left and right. Maybe you’ll find a Zero Two lookalike.
24. Do You Love Your Mom And Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?

Forget about hot elves! Forget about giant mechs! For all you meme-loving Otakus out there, this is all you need!
Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? is the anime series where the popular meme template was taken from. The story begins when Masato Oosuki is plunged into a fantasy MMORPG world with his mother, Mamako. Mamako then becomes an OP swordsman who can use two-hit multi-target attacks that easily wipe off her enemies.
You know an anime’s good when there’s a meme template born from it. And I am sure that some of you watch it because of Mamako.
23. Grimgar: Ashes and Illusions

This Isekai is not your wacky and parody anime series. Grimgar: Ashes and Illusions focus on the journey of a party of 6 outsiders who were teleported to Grimgar. They join the Reserve Army as soldiers and fight horrific enemies to survive. They have no OP skills, no legendary equipment, all they have is each other and the knowledge of their names.
Grimgar: Ashes and Illusions is a dramatic Isekai anime series that focuses on the real dangers of being teleported in a world you are not familiar with.
22. InuYasha

InuYasha is the TV series we watched when we were kids so it’s understandable that some of you might not remember it.
InuYasha is one of the most iconic anime series of all time and some might not even know it’s an Isekai. The story of InuYasha begins when fifteen-year-old Kagome Hirugashi is dragged into a cursed well by a ghost and is sent back to the Sengoku Era of Japan. It all happened because she is born with a wish-granting gem named the Shikon Jewel. She enlists the help of Inuyasha, a teenager who is a half-man half-dog hybrid as well as other characters as they set on a journey to locate the fragments of the gem to save everyone.
This anime series sure kicks you in the face with Nostalgia.
21. Spirited Away

This is another famous anime that you might not have known was considered an Isekai.
Spirited Away is a Ghibli Movie that is centred around Chihiro Ogino who was brought to the spirit world after her parents were turned into pigs when they entered an abandoned amusement park. She is helped by Haku and other unique characters as they set on a journey to return her to her home and save her parents.
This is one of the greatest anime movies of all time and is truly a work of art.
20. Princess Connect! Re: Dive

Have you ever thought about how Mr Bean felt when he fell from the sky? Well, the main character from Princess Connect! Re: Dive sure does.
Yuuki who has no memories but his name falls from the sky onto the continent of Astraea. An imp named Kokkoro helps him and they join a local guild. They are then joined by Pecorine, a warrior, and Karyl, a catgirl mage. Together they form their guild, battle monsters, and uncover Yuuki’s mysterious past.
Princess Connect! Re: Dive is a happy-go-lucky Isekai full of comedy and fun.
19. Re: Creators

Another Isekai with a “Re” in its title is Re: Creators.
Re: Creators take the phrase, “Give life to your imagination” to a whole new level. In the series, fictional characters from books and movies start popping up in the streets of Japan from brawlers to mages. Souta Mizushino, a high school student along with the character he made, Selesia Yupitilia try to find out what is the cause of this strange phenomenon.
Re: Creators has one crazy concept that is unique to any genre. Just imagine your favourite waifu coming to life. Amazing!
18. Now and Then, Here and There

Now and Then, Here and There probably defined what Isekai is. The OG and the one that put Isekai in the spotlight.
Now and Then, Here and There starts when Shuu Matsutani climbs up a smokestack to see the sunset after losing at kendo. Shuu then finds Lala-Ru whom he tries to befriend. They are then attacked by a woman and two serpent-like robots which targeted Lala-Ru because she has the power to control water using her pendant. He tries to save her but is beaten by several soldiers. Suddenly, the pendant disappears and all the blame is put on him. Yet he still gives his all to save Lala-Ru.
The series does not shy away from scenes such as torture, starvation, and death. It portrays the drama of the plot while giving it a realistic feel.
17. So I’m A Spider, So What?

Want to be Isekaid as an overpowered hero? No no no, I got something better. You get to be reincarnated as a spider! And what’s better is you get to have two “So’s” in your anime title.
So I’m A Spider, So What? Is probably one of the most creative Isekai anime that’s airing right now. In this anime, an entire school is destroyed and everyone dies but they get reincarnated as kings and heroes but this girl is reincarnated as a spider. She fights everything to gain power and become stronger.
Start watching and see how from being one of the weakest monsters she turned into a terrifying force to be reckoned with.

16. Drifters

Please don’t go and expect that there’s gonna be cars in this anime and they call everyone family. Drifters are not family-friendly. This may yet be one of the most brutal and dark anime on this list.
The story begins when Toyohisa Shimazu is injured in the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600 and is teleported to a mysterious land where he meets the legendary Nobunaga Oda and the famed archer Yoichi Suketaka Nasu. They discover that they are called “Drifters” and are meant to fight an evil enemy known as the “Ends”. They fight to help the Orte Empire against the “Ends” while occupying their territories and helping the people that serve, even the demi-humans.
Drifters is an exceptional anime that shows no mercy in having bloody scenes and exposing the dark truths of a society full of discrimination and war.
15. No Game No Life

No Game No Life is also a very famous Isekai Anime. You not only get one shut-in but two NEETS!
No Game No Life follows the story of two very intelligent siblings named Sora and Shino who only play games their whole life. After accepting a game of Chess from an email they are sent to a new universe where everything is dictated by games. They meet Tet, the God of Games and they seem to enjoy this new world. But Sora and Shino have different plans, they plan to rule this new world with everything they have.
That just proves that these siblings are crazy! Some want to go home but NO these two want to defeat a literal god.
14. GATE

In most Isekais you only see one person or a group of them getting teleported or reincarnated in another world but in GATE, the whole Japanese Self Defense Force (JSDF) enters a fantasy world and destroys the armies of different kingdoms.
It all began when a portal opened in Tokyo and monsters and knights came out of it destroying everything in their path. The JSDF then orders Youji Itami, a JSDF officer, and an otaku to lead the expedition to the new world. The kingdoms inside the gate then attack the JSDF base but are met with overwhelming firepower. I mean what can shields do against a tank?
Follow Youji’s journey as he meets interesting people, finds out about the political structure of the new world, and discovers the magic that surrounds it.
13. How To Not Summon A Demon Lord

Instead of becoming a hero who saves everybody, this guy decides to become a Demon Lord and dominate the game.
How To Not Summon A Demon Lord features Takuma Sakamoto, a gamer with no social skills who is teleported to his game and becomes his character, the notorious Demon Lord, Diablo. He then gains two servants one of whom is a very beautiful Elf and a petite Pantherian explorer. The situation becomes awkward as he tries to help the girls break the spell which made them his servants. Everything’s just awkward as this supposed fearsome Demon Lord constantly has nosebleeds.
This is a very comedic and impressive anime. You can watch how Takuma, a shut-in tries to fulfil his role as a Demon Lord and sometimes fails horrendously.
12. The Devil Is A Part-Timer!

This is where you see Satan become one of the greatest employees at a fast-food chain. You read that right! Satan becomes a normal guy struggling to pay bills.
The Devil Is A Part-Timer! Starts when Satan is defeated by the hero Emilia when he was trying to conquer Ente Isla. He is then transported to modern-day Tokyo and disguises himself as a guy working at MgRonalds named Sadao Maou along with his general Alsiel. At first, they vow to take revenge but he soon turns to another goal. Satan now wants to become the king of Earth and climb the corporate world, one happy customer at a time!
What do you do when you’re the Devil and get teleported to a world without magic? You become the world’s greatest part-time worker!
11. Children Who Chase Lost Voices

Asuna Watase is an outstanding student who loves to listen to her ancient gem-like radio in her hidden spot in the mountains. One day, Shun, a mysterious boy saves her from a ravaging animal, he then takes Asuna on a journey towards a lost land where her life turns upside down.
Children Who Chase Voices is an absolutely beautiful Isekai drama that focuses on the heavenly beat of the music and the smooth melody it brings in our lives. But what happens when the song no longer whispers but it becomes a raging storm?
10. Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest

You might think this is a typical Isekai trope where the character is reincarnated in another world and suddenly becomes the hero but that’s different.
Hajime Nagumo, a 17-year-old otaku along with his classmates are summoned to a magical world where they were chosen to save humanity. Hajime is the only one without great fighting abilities and fell to the bottom of the abyss when he was tricked by his classmates when they were on a journey in the Great Orcus Labyrinth. While he did survive, he met monsters and had hardships along the way. Hajime meets a vampire named Yue and others who are also trying to escape the Labyrinth. As he continues on his journey to go home he starts to turn from commonplace to becoming the world’s best.
Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest is an interesting story because the character starts from scratch, wounded and hurt after being betrayed.
9. Overlord

Another Isekai where the main character decides to go rogue and start to become the villain is Overlord.
The series begins as the famous virtual reality game Yggdrasil is finally about to shut down. Momonga, the leader of the powerful guild Ainz Ooal Gown, logs in and spends the final hours of the game remembering the memories he made. He then becomes Momonga himself and is stuck on the game as all the NPCs take on their respective identities. With his powerful servants he tries to discover this new world he is living in and hopefully, find others like him.
This anime blurs the boundary between good and evil because even as Momonga seems to become the villain he shows mercy to those that serve him. Try searching the name Albedo and I’m sure you want to watch it.
8. The Saga of Tanya The Evil

If you had enough with fantasy Isekai, then how about World War 1 Isekai with magic, and an evil loli?
The Saga of Tanya The Evil revolves around Tanya Degurechaff A.K.A. “The Devil of the Rhine” was once a man who challenged God and was reincarnated in this world of war and magic. Tanya now wants to prove Being X (God) wrong and constantly rises the ranks while unknowingly helping the Empire become the strongest nation in history.
Ironic enough all of her powers become stronger when she prays. This little girl will shoot a bullet through you if you become annoying.

7. KonoSuba: God’s Blessing On This Wonderful World

I’m gonna be honest with you but Konosuba is the funniest Isekai anime in the market. It has a Knight, a useless and drunkard Goddess, a mage who can only cast one spell and then faint, and the main character’s ultimate skill is stealing underwear.
KonoSuba: God’s Blessing On This Wonderful World is a parody of Isekai. The plot focuses on Kazuma who died from shock after he thought he was gonna get hit by a tractor. When given one wish before being reincarnated he chooses the very Goddess who facilitates the wish-making, Aqua. When Kazuma thinks he got the ultimate weapon he soon realizes that Aqua’s most powerful skill is having rainbow-coloured barf as she’s getting eaten by frogs. They meet new people and try to defeat the Demon King in the new realm. Everyone’s stupid in the show but at least they try.
6. Isekai Quartet

Isekai Quartet is a slice of life series that compiles the different characters in most of the Isekai that are included in the top 10 list. From Kazuma to Subaru to Tanya to Ainz, this show compiles your favourite characters and lets you see how they would act when they’re in school.
It is one of the biggest crossovers in the Isekai Genre and is fun, to be honest. All of this happened because every character was some weird obsession with pressing red buttons.
You’ll enjoy watching this especially since everyone’s forced to live normally in school.
5. The Rising Of The Shield Hero

We’re finally in the top 5! And I present to you one of the most satisfying Isekai anime, The Rising Of The Shield Hero.
In this world, the four cardinal heroes, mainly spear, sword, bow, and shield are men and women taken from Modern-day Japan. Naofumi Iwatani, an otaku is chosen to be the Shield Hero but he is belittled because of his personality and ability. He then picks up a dying demi-human slave which he names Raphtalia. He is then accused of exploiting Malty Melromarc, the one who was assigned to train him.
In a story of revenge and constant struggle Naofumi and Raphtalia go on a journey together to prove he is innocent and save the world from the Wave. If you reach the ending of Season 1, oh my gosh! Does it make the soul glow?
4. Log Horizon

Log Horizon is one of the better serious Isekais that delve into the world of MMORPG. Its concept might not be unique, but the perspective of storytelling is great.
Log Horizon tells the story of Shiroe, a seasoned player of the famous MMORPG Elder Tale and 30,000 other Japanese gamers as they are sucked into the game’s universe. As he meets Naotsugu who after logging in for the first time in years is sucked and Akatsuki a small and deadly assassin, starts a journey to bring peace to the virtual city of Akihabara.
All of the storytelling is from Shiroe’s perspective, a master strategist who does all he can to rise to the top in times of trouble.
3. Re:Zero: Starting Life In Another World

Even if you’re not an Isekai fan, you’ve probably heard of Re: Zero. It was the talk of the town especially since it released its 2nd season.
Re:Zero: Starting Life In Another World’s Main Character seems to have the worst luck out of all the main characters, even worse than Kazuma’s. When he arrives in a new world he is beaten to a pulp while holding groceries and his smartphone is now broken. He is saved by Emilia, where Subaru offers to help her find something she is looking for. Unfortunately, when they find the location they are both brutally murdered. Subaru then wakes up to a familiar scene, he was brought back to the very beginning.
Imagine dying so many times and getting reincarnated back up again. All that pain must have broken the mind. I doubt even Spongebob could stay happy when this happens to him.
2. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

Mushoku Tensei was just released this 2021 and is widely known as the grandfather of Isekai. This is the anime where all of the Isekai was based on, Mushoku Tensei envelopes the true meaning of Isekai.
Even if he was bullied and mocked his whole life, a 34-year-old shut-in saved people and died in the process. He is reincarnated as a newly born baby named Rudeus Greyrat while retaining his memories from his previous life. As he grows up he starts to enjoy his new life, feeling the love he deserves. Rudeus becomes a great wizard meeting interesting people who he starts to care for and also care for him.
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is one of the greatest Isekai anime as said by the producers they don’t want to rush the story and tell the story of Rudeus Greyrat as clearly as they can.
1. The Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime

You might think this anime is similar to So I’m A Spider, So What? But think again. The Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime is so much more than that both in the Manga, Light Novel, and Anime.
The Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime follows Satoru Mikami, a 37-year-old Japanese Salaryman who was stabbed while saving his subordinate. He is then reincarnated as a Slime. But when fortunate events turn up, he befriends one of the strongest creatures in the game, Storm Dragon Veldora. He bestowed the name Rimuru Tempest and strives to become the strongest there is.
The Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime not only incorporates RPG elements but includes world-building, politics, and as the second season is already out a whole new world of possibilities. Truly worthy of being called the best Isekai Anime.
Conclusion
All of these shows listed here are amazing in their way and the list is based on my opinion. Even if Isekai has been stereotyped as a “trash anime” these past few years, It shows one of the most amazing concepts in the industry.
With world-building, amazing fights, crazy concepts, interesting characters, and beautiful storytelling, the world of Isekai has so much more to offer.
no game no life is my ultimate fave, i wish they continue the anime
