Now here’s an anime with a controversial story. Genius Party is like a freelance project given to seven different animators to create a 12-episode film. And among the twelve stories told in it, we’d have to single this out.

Let me hint you on the bitty controversies you’ll see in it. The MC is a ghost, and virtually everyone else is a zombie. But just what’s different about these zombies?

And here’s another one that stands out among all Japanese zombie series. This manga would make you think there are levels to being zombified. Can you believe that?

In a zombie apocalyptic world, we see the government trying frantically to control the spread of the virus. And in so doing, I had to identify and tag all zombies on Level three and above.

But how’s that your business, right? It is because Yukio, the MC, is a Level three zombie. Now, what to do?

There was a sudden outbreak of zombies on a college campus. The male protagonist was fortunate to escape the original artificial calamity. Still, he could not escape the inescapable dread and agony that surrounded him.

Everything in human life, the heart and future has become fragile. All of the partners had to work together to stay alive.

If you keep performing the same thing over and over again, like a zombie, your time is running out before you know it.

This manga would teach you to always “be careful what you wish for” pretty much because the zombie apocalypse came to be because Kii Kogami wished for it (he just asked for something to spice up his boring life).

One day, sitting bored in class, Kii sights a dark Goth Girl killing the school’s guidance counsellor. And suddenly, more zombie girls fall from the sky and just start killing the student populace.

If you were in his shoes, what would you do if you were caught up in a zombie apocalypse in school?

And what did he do?

I know that this manga is pretty good too, and it has an excellent story. And indeed, you can compare it to some other manga or anime that tell the same zombie story. But to compare it to Highschool of The Dead? Now that’s taking it too far, bro!

And don’t think that because the first few chapters are devoid of zombies; the entire story is devoid of them. Nah! It only gets better.

So why not grab a copy of the manga, a bowl of popcorn, and get down to reading it. You sure would love it.

Cradle of Monsters’ zombie horror takes a fresh approach to the genre. This time, it takes place aboard a cruise ship filled with school children returning from a field trip.

I’d say the kids should just skip this anime, not because it has those types of scenes but because it does contain much blood, gore, and swearing. But if you’re cool with that, trust me, they just blended in perfectly with the plot.

Do allow me to broach this from the viewpoint of someone who’s seen the anime itself.

For an anime from the late nineties, Tokkou has a generic feel to it. And it always has you wondering what’s going to happen next. And don’t think that because you’ve seen quite some zombie anime, you’d be able to predict what would happen in this.

Popularly known by its Japanese name of Hitori no Shita, this anime has managed to grip the majority of its viewers. And I’ll tell you why.

It appears to be an average anime zombie as the plot unfolds, but it is not. For everyone that’s seen The Outcast, you can’t just stop hoping for a second season because this has been the most exemplary portion of the story thus far. This season’s most pleasant surprise was the anime

If you’re on the fence about whether or not to watch this anime, I implore you to give it a go. To sum it up, you’ll be staring at your screen for the whole duration of this anime since it has action, drama, magic, and a terrible history.

And just as you might’ve guessed, Cinderalla is pretty different from Cinderella. But I wouldn’t want to spoil it all for you.

“There’s a zombie on your lawn” is one of the popular phrases that’ll stick into your head by the time you’re done seeing this zombie apocalypse anime.

The story centres on Tatsumi Hiyuu, a transfer student at Magami Academy. But it doesn’t talk about Tatsumi alone, as Aoi, Daigo, Kyouichi and Sakurai are also concerned. And I have to say, the very first episode has this intense hook that’ll make you resolve to see the end of the series. You might bingewatch it.

And what’s more? You never actually get to know what exactly is going on, at least not until you get to the seventh episode. But just what happens, and what makes this episode seven special? Why not see for yourself?

Just know this, for all anime series that aired in July 2018, not a single one can even compare to Calamity of the Zombie Girl, or as the weebs call it, Aru Zombie Shoujo no Sainan. But here’s a little heads up, this Japanese animation is just really amazing, not even minding the absurdity.

For it tells of shape-shifting warrior maidens. They enjoy gore, love, and being crazy and will unintentionally pull off your arms or break your head in bits due to their bashful and adorable nature.

I present an anime with one of the craziest plot twists so far. Indeed, we all know zombies are always mysterious. Still, then we always attribute their existence to a “biological experiment gone wrong”, right?

Allow me to blow your mind. Zombies could very well be grown and cultivated, just like plants. How mind-blowing is that?

I hate to say this, but I’m not saying more than that, man. Lol. You’d just have to see for yourself what Walking Meat is about.

If you’re the type that likes comedic anime, then believe me when I say you’re really in for it with this anime. And why’s that so? That’s because it is still pretty much an all-time favourite comedy anime for most people that have seen it.

But it’s only just a bit painful that we saw the end of this anime after its Season two. And considering that the anime doesn’t have a precisely solid story, it’s the humour that makes it stand out as it seems pretty iconic in the comedic anime genre.

But permit me to give you a little heads up before you watch it. You would most probably need a sturdy chair to sit on, unless you want to fall off from laughing.

Even though just a single character from this Japanese animation is a zombie, Soul Eater remains one of the top 50 Shounen anime with the Zombie concept. I’d recommend that you see it. The “living dead” concept remains dominant throughout the series.

I’m sure you do have a best friend. And you two enjoy each other’s company, right? Now imagine a world where your best friend could turn into a weapon, and you’re the wielder. How amazing would that be? The thrills of slashing down creatures, demons, and the living dead amongst others. Bro, I can picture that in my head right now. Hahaha!

Why do exciting animations that talk about zombie apocalypse and all of that living dead action always have just a few episodes? I guess the producers do not want to bore you and me with their anime’s stretchy plot. And that, I understand.

Zombie-Loan is an enjoyable anime but a little too short for my tastes. Eleven episodes are far too few for a series, given that the majority have at least twelve. It’s an intriguing narrative, somewhat unique in my opinion, with both positive and bad points in it.

Even the musicals, art, and characters fit perfectly into the story. It’s only a bit of a disappointment that the story was too short.

But what happens? And how does it change their lives? Just go ahead and read the manga, and I tell you, you’re in for a great treat!

The story was told from the point of view of a typical family of three. From being cut off at the start, to the struggle to stay alive after the zombies came out to leave the house for sustenance. It showed the post-apocalyptic world, how the virus spread, and zombies on the loose!

Because they are almost about to die out, how are they going to save themselves? What would they have to do to stay alive?

Because come on, the storytelling of a zombie apocalypse, how it started, went on, and even the ending was just impeccable!

Seoul Station is an animated depiction of South Korea’s predicaments. Juvenile delinquents, homelessness, other crimes, and a zombie apocalypse!!! I give it to the writers. (I just didn’t particularly like the end).

Even if you’re weary of zombies, the manga’s clever character development and witty comedy may win you over.

In the first chapters, we get to know Akira Tendo. And yes, he’s the MC. It’s evident his life is in shambles from the first chapter. But why’s that so?

In general, this anime is excellent and encompasses nearly every genre; worth watching! It’s comparable to the famous Shounen anime like Bleach and Naruto. Still, I’m more intrigued by D. Gray-man, as it is slightly more intense and in-depth.

A careful look into this anime would give you the impression that it’s Shounen. At some other point, you’d see it treading the mid-Seinen line. And the character growth is just impressive, for it provides a good room for that in its small arcs.

This anime would make you think the Japanese are pretty anxious that they’re isolated from the rest of the world. However, just because it’s animated doesn’t imply it’s appropriate for children. Cronenberg would be envious of this film’s crazy scenes, brutality, and horror.

This anime might be for you if you don’t mind machines inserting objects in human body parts and other outlandish notions. It’s not impressive, but it does convey a point. Do you think that’s enough for you to watch?

Just as the title suggests, Zombieland Saga just might be an anime about a land filled with Zombies, or isn’t it? I remember asking an anime newbie what he thought of the anime, and from what I can recall, I’m pretty sure the summary of his response was:

“I was amazed by Zombieland Saga. A humorous spin on the hero genre allowed it to generate some genuinely fantastic and unusual characters, making it both amusing and educational. It’s been a long time since I’ve had so much fun watching an anime. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend it.”

Believe it or not, this manga could very well be crowned “King of Zombie Manga“. And that title would be attributed to how cool and interesting the plot is.

The zombies develop in unique ways, but there is more to the story than simply surviving from one new region to the next without learning anything new. There are some tedious zombie conventions in this manga, but there are also some intriguing twists.

And also, there are several strong relationships, including a father-child relationship and a massive bromance. The art is beautiful but quite graphic.

Overall, School-Live is an excellent Japanese animation, and I think people should watch it. The anime has 12 episodes so you can finish it in a few days. It is fun to watch and might be a good anime to watch again.

Undoubtedly, this anime swept most anime fans right off of their feet right from the first episode. And the same way the zombie concept was added to the story was very impeccable. And no doubt that’s one excellent factor putting this anime in this recommendation list.

And what’s more? It has just 12 episodes, and you needn’t worry about waiting for any new season to be released.

If you’re looking for some real action against the living dead, with excellent graphics even to emphasize the gore, then Gungrave is for you. And what’s more impressive? The anime is based on the Gungrave game, which I’m sure you’d have either played or heard of.

For an anime that first aired nine years ago, the story, graphics, art, and ratings accorded to this anime are just wow! And why did I say the story is a wow? Just watch Watashi no Yujin.

Imagine a world utterly devoid of the supernatural. A world where there was no God. Almost like saying that God has entirely forsaken Earth and all its inhabitants. Another ironic thing about this zombie anime is that no one can be born, nor can anyone die. Now isn’t that a bit technical?

This anime tells of Ai Austin, a 12-year-old girl who’s a Gravekeeper, on a quest to save the world.

Well, they might tell you that it’s a tad bit too generic, or that it’s not popular, but I’m here to do justice to that. Corpse Princess is one of the most remarkable anime out there fam.

Corpse Princess is one anime that talks about life and death excitingly, getting you glued to it. Usually, we’ve been made to think and expect zombies to be “the living dead“, with no idea of what they’re doing, right?

But just maybe one unique thing you’d come to love about Corpse Princess is that while it’s an anime that centres around zombies, which Makina Hoshimura also turned to. She was also required to kill 108 other zombies to gain entry into heaven.

Let me tell you the story of an anime that’s been so goated; it’s often compared with Attack on Titan. A strange illness unleashes monstrous creatures that feed on the flesh of humans. The only way to get rid of these “Kabane,” or steelcoated hearts, is to demolish them.

These zombies have a terrible fate for those they bite: they rise from the dead and join their fellow zombies. Left to me, I think watching this actionpacked, and gory anime would open your eyes to why most weebs often compare it to Attack on Titan.

It would pretty much suffice to say this anime is one of the best zombie anime you’d see out there.

Phew! Now that surely wasn’t a quick read. Still, indeed it must’ve given you fascinating and brief insights into the highlighted anime and manga. And amongst all the concepts in the above listed animations, the drooling living dead isn’t always the only significant part.

If there’s one thing I can promise you, it’s that you definitely would not regret seeing any or some of the anime mentioned in this blog. And surely, you must’ve expected to see some other manga like Highschool Of The Dead on the list, but simply because they’re not child-friendly, we cannot have them here.
