About World Trigger

The story begins when a strange gate opens on Earth. The gate is from another World and opens in Mikado City. Many strange creatures known as “Neighbors” invade the city after coming out of the gate. Now, there’s an organization named Border Defense Agency that had been established to combat the Neighbors. They use special weapons known as “Triggers”.
Many years have passed since the gate opened in Mikado City. The Neighbors are still terrorizing the civilians after so many years. Osamu Mikumo is one such member-in-training of the Organization who cannot use his Trigger outside of the Headquarters. But one day, a new student in his class is being bullied by a bunch of bullies. All of them are in a forbidden area and that’s when they are attacked by the Neighbors.
Osamu has no choice but to use his Trigger. However, it is revealed that the new student, Yuuma Kuga, is actually a humanoid Neighbor in disguise.
