Park Il-Pyo’s Charyeok is the Nine-Tails Guardian. It’s the only Charyeok that can completely change the appearance of the user, turning him into a nine-tailed fox. His power is unimaginable and held a vital role in the anime.
Because he is the owner of the Nine-Tails Guardian, Park Il-Pyo became the Key. The Key is the only human being with the ability to undo the lock placed upon humans. That lock was preventing them from rebelling against the gods.
That was a role that we all thought would go to Jin since he is the MC. But the anime got us good and left us all stunned.
And let’s be honest we all had a little crush on Pyo after his introduction and the grand reveal of his power.

Returning home from school, she took a shortcut that led her to a shrine. There, she found a baby fox drowning in the river. Without thinking twice, she dived after him and saved him. She left him behind at the shrine and moved on. But the fox, however, didn’t forget about her.
Uka-no-Mitama-no-Kami or “Uka-sama” or short, the guardian deity of the shrine, grateful to the girl, shared a piece of her powers with her. She then acquired the ability to turn anyone into anything by screaming “Inari, konkon.”
The fox came to find her the very next day. Like he was begging her to try her powers on him, Inari transformed him into a human. The fox who wanted to repay his debt will start aiding her in her daily life.
Helping her make friends and even acquire the courage to confess even though no one loves her more than he does. Personally, I’d take over a fox.

When he met the weird-looking girl he was stunned to learn that she is able to sustain herself by eating a single cut of instant ramen per day. No wonder she doesn’t grow.
Out of concern for her health, he decides to take care of her alimentary regime by providing proper food, and fix her way of life at the same time.
An extremely difficult task to take on upon himself since considering her peculiar tastes and complicated personality. But he is a deity, after all, that small challenge shouldn’t be impossible to clear right?

The Mizuchi family has been cured by yokai for generations now. Toru and Noboru Takagami are the current progenies of this family. They were untrusted by their grandmother’s special weapons made to fight and exorcise yokai.
One of those weapons took the form of a fox spirit called Tenko Kugen. The fox has the ability to transform into a human. This roguish spirit is complemented by Ko, a shrine maiden who moved in with the two boys.
Life just got a hell more complicated than it was supposed to be. Impossible to get along with the fox, arguing over who will have the right to claim the heart of the shrine maiden and clumsily battling against yokai way stronger than there are.
The boys are in over their heads.

Nanami Momozono’s father left her drowning in debts. She lost everything, even her home. She sat in the park on the verge of tears when a man appeared before her. A dog was attacking him so she helped. That’s the decent thing to do.
The man sat next to her, he felt that she was in distress. Weirdly, she felt comfortable around him so she told him her story. At the end of the conversation, the man told her that she could live in his shrine and kissed her forehead before he disappeared.
With nowhere else to go, she went to the shrine. There, two spirits welcomed her as their new God. Mikage, the previous deity, transferred his power over to her through his kiss. Stunned by the news she was even more shocked when she met the familiar who was taking care of the shrine.
Tomoe made his entrance. Beautiful, isn’t enough to describe him. Plus, his beauty is equal to his power. He was previously a yokai fox who made a contract with Mikage and became his familiar. And of course, the prideful fox would never stoop so low as to obey a weak unworthy human, so he left.
Unable to take care of the run-down shrine without him, Nanami followed him to the red district. There, she was attacked by a monster and by luck she managed to seal a contract with Tomoe without his consent.
Now that she is the official God and has an overpowered familiar of the caliber of Tomoe by her side, the fox is going to make sure to turn her into a proper deity worthy of his services.
Well, in the end, he is the one who fixes everything and she takes the credits. And above all, she has the balls to fall in love with him. Let’s hope they spare us the cliché, and what we think will happen… won’t!

Because of the sheltered life she lived, she doesn’t have a filter and always speaks her mind bluntly. Her communication skills are more than just horrible. So when she decided she wanted to change the way she lived, an extremely difficult challenge was created.
She is invited by her childhood friend to live with her in the house known as the Maison de Ayakashi. The security is, for some reason, extremely tight and strange things happen at night.
As she started to expand her domain and venture further into the residence, she realized that the people living with her aren’t exactly typical. All the residents are half-yokai half-humans. Ayakashi does mean demon after all.
A secret service agent was assigned to her so she can freely move around in the residence without any risk of her suddenly disappearing. His name is Soushi Miketsukami. He is very quiet but oh my god he is hot. He clings to her like super glue and even accompanies her to high school.
Another sort of, suffocating life is beginning to happen as her new partner is hiding something from her. Is it ears that pop out of his head when no one is looking?

They turned against each other. Inuyasha stabbed her and she sealed him to a tree with an arrow right before she passed. She was burned along the precious Jewel to make sure no one would put their hands on it.
Hundreds of years passed and Kikyo’s reincarnation, Kagome is living in the present-day world as we now know it. The pearl inside her body attracted the yokai of old times and she fell into a sacred well. She was transported to the past right where Inuyasha dwelled.
On the verge of death, clinging desperately to Inuyasha, he opened his eyes. She removed the arrow and the demon fox destroyed the monster attacking her in a second.
What Kagome thought was an act of kindness was nothing but greed, as he desired the pearl as well. He turned against her but before he could claim his prize, the jewel was shattered and the shards scattered all around feudal Japan.
To find them, Inuyasha has to rely on Kagome’s power, so they team up. The girl embarks on an incredible adventure and even forgot that she could actually go back home if she wanted to.

But her grandpa suddenly died and now she was all alone. She knew how to take care of herself. She continued to attend college and even decided on a career path. Wasn’t difficult since the only thing she does right is cooking.
In her mind, it’s a way of protecting herself so she does not turn into a meal for the demons. So any hungry being that comes before her, she feeds.
She fed an ayakashi and suddenly found herself in the Hidden Realm. The one she helped, introduced himself as Oodanna, the “Master Innkeeper”, an ogre-god.
He reveals that her grandpa actually punned her off as collateral for an exorbitant debt. It is now her duty to pay it in his staid. And her way out is to marry Oodanna.
She, of course, refuses. Who wants to marry an ogre even if he is a God? She will repay everything by using the power of her delicious cooking.

Kurama is the most famous nine-tailed fox in history. And, I personally, believe that he is the star of the Naruto series.
Without his presence in the show, the story wouldn’t have been the masterpiece it is now. The outcast ninja who dreamed to become Hokage so he would be acknowledged by the village was aided by the fox from the beginning till the end.
Evil at the very start, we grew alongside the manifestation of his emotions and feelings. The journey was long and emotional but worth the wait.
Kurama’s kindness was one of the most beautiful things we witnessed. It is time to pay him tribute and the number one spot will do just that.

Kitsune are rarely used as MC’s and that’s a shame. They are mostly used as supporting characters, even though all anime about them are super popular.
