One Punch Man

Saitama appears to be an ordinary guy. However, he has an interesting power, he can defeat anyone with a single punch. Since his childhood, Saitama had only one dream; to become a hero. To realize his dream, Saitama trained hard day and night. Now, he’s so powerful that no one can even touch him. Saitama is quite bored now because he has lost the thrill of fighting as he’s extremely overpowered.

Genos is a 19-year-old cyborg who has been observing Saitama. He talks to Saitama about letting him in as his apprentice and also joining the Hero Association with him. Saitama agrees as he would like to be recognized as a hero. The two join the Hero Association and that’s when their adventure begins.

One Punch Man Story Arcs

 

1. Saitama Introduction Arc (Episode 1)

Saitama Introduction Arc

This Arc begins with a monster named “Vaccine Man” wrecking havoc in a city. He’s about to kill a child when Saitama intervenes. The Vaccine Man transforms and just when he’s about to attack Saitama, he gets knocked out by Saitama with a single punch. Saitama is seen to be disappointed as it was too easy for him to defeat the Vaccine Man.

We are shown a flashback from the past when Saitama defeated a monster named Crablante who was after a child. After that, he decided to become a hero and train hard for it.

Back to the present, we’re shown Saitama at a grocery store when he is disturbed by The Bran and Brown Brothers who are just there rampaging. Though he easily defeats them, he accidentally destroys B-city in the process. 

Back in his apartment, Saitama is attacked by the Subtarrenians who are pretty strong. He’s excited to fight them and is about to fight their leader when it is revealed that he’s just dreaming. Soon after, the real Subtarrenians come to the surface of Earth. Saitama easily defeats their King and they return to their base.

 

2. House of Evolution Arc (Episode 2-3)

This arc introduces us to the Mosquito Girl who is controlling all the mosquitoes, leading to a mosquito outbreak in Z-city. It also introduces us to Genos, a 19-year-old Cyborg. Genos wanted to eliminate Mosquito Girl but struggled greatly. That’s when Saitama intervenes and knocks out Mosquito Girl, saving Genos. 

Genos is extremely impressed by Saitama’s strength and asks him to make him his disciple. That’s when a bunch of monsters interfere and are all whacked immediately by Saitama and Genos. Upon investigating, they find out about the House of Evolution, which is an evil organization. 

Both Genos and Saitama decide to visit the Headquarters of the House of Evolution. Upon arriving there, both of them are faced with Carnage Kabuto, which is their strongest specimen. Genos is brutally smashed. 

Saitama is the next target. Carnage Kabuto transforms into Carnage Mode to kill Saitama. But he’s knocked out by Saitama’s one punch.

 

3. Paradise Group Arc (Episode 4)

The Paradise Group introduces us to a new character named Speed-o’-Sound Sonic and Mumen Rider. It opens with the Paradise Group conspiring to destroy the home of Zeniru, a multimillionaire. Mumen Rider is a hero who attempts to stop them but fails miserably. That’s when Speed-o’-Sonic comes into action and destroys the whole group except Hammerhead. He then proceeds to beat Hammerhead and defeat him.

Saitama comes across Hammerhead in the woods and punches him, telling him to run away. Speed-o’-Sound Sonic confronts Saitama about Hammerhead. He thought Saitama was a member of The Paradise Group and attacked him. 

Saitama is able to keep up with Speed-o’-Sound Sonic’s momentum and ends up punching his crotch. Speed-o’-Sound Sonic is devastated and declares Saitama his eternal rival. When Saitama reaches his apartment, both Genos and he register themselves as Heroes. 

 

5. National Superhero Registry arc (Episode 5-6)

Both Saitama and Genos pass the National Superhero Registry Exam with flying colors. After passing the exam, they’re summoned to a seminar where the rest of the passing candidates are. 

All of them are greeted by Snek who gives them a lecture on how to be great heroes. However, he is greatly annoyed by Saitama’s carefree behavior and threatens him that he’ll make sure to drop Saitama’s Rank. Saitama, on the other hand, is unbothered

Snek believes that both Saitama and Genos will quit being a hero soon. His colleague disagrees as both Saitama and Genos possess superhuman strength and skills. Snek challenges Saitama for a fight but is knocked out immediately. 

Both Genos and Saitama decide to spar to check their strengths. After quite a while, Saitama is able to corner Genos and flicks his forehead instead of punching him.

Genos asks Saitama to live with him. Saitama protests until Genos offers him some money. Saitama agrees immediately. Genos tells Saitama that C-Class Heros get expelled from the organization if they’ve been inactive for too long. Saitama, upon hearing this, rushes outside to find criminals to beat. 

That’s when he’s attacked by Speed-o’-Sound Sonic but Saitama is not interested in fighting him. They are interrupted when another C-Class hero, Tank Top Tiger, attacks Saitama as he looks suspicious to him.

Speed-o’-Sound immediately knocked Tank Top Tiger out, getting him out of the way. He starts attacking the civilians and threatens Saitama that if he doesn’t fight him, he’ll keep bothering the Civilians. That’s when Saitama knocks him out.

 

6. Rumored Monster Arc (Episode 6)

There is a meeting going on between the staff members of the Hero Association where they are discussing reports from various cities. There’s a rumor going on that a monster lives in Z-City

The Hero Association sends two heroes to investigate who are beaten down by the rumored monster, Kombu Infinity. Saitama comes across the monster and steals his Kombu hair to make some soup. Genos claims that Saitama is trying to regrow his hair by having the soup but Saitama strongly disagrees. 

 

7. Giant Meteor Arc (Episode 7)

This arc starts with a Giant Meteor travelling towards the Earth at a fast speed. Genos is called to the Hero Association Headquarters where he meets Bang, an S-Class hero. Bang explains to Genos that he must stop the meteor from destroying Z-city.

Both Genos and Bang arrive at the scene. Genos tries to stop the meteor by using all his power, draining himself and falling to the ground. That’s when Saitama arrives and destroys the meteor in no time. Saitama’s rank jumps from 342 to 5

When Saitama is out in the city and taking note of the destruction caused by the meteor fragments, he comes across Tank Top Tiger and Tank Top Black Hole who tell him to resign as he has destroyed a large part of the city. Some of the civilians also join them. 

Tank Top Black Hole makes it seem like Saitama is going to attack the citizens and starts fighting Saitama. His hand is crushed by Saitama when he attacks Saitama. He then apologizes to him that he lied and exposes himself. After this incident, a large creature is seen emerging from the Ocean.

 

8. Sea Monster Arc (Episode 8-9)

Sea Monster Arc introduces us to the Deep Sea King who is a Demon-Level threat. He enters the city and starts destroying it. That’s when a bunch of heroes arrive there to stop him. But all of them are crushed by the Deep Sea King

There’s a long and brutal battle between the Deep Sea King and Genos. Genos is almost battered as he’s also saving some of the civilians from the Deep Sea King. Mumen Rider attempts to attack the Deep Sea King but is beaten down brutally

Saitama arrives at the scene and takes care of the Deep Sea King, sending him back to where he belonged.

 

9. Alien Conquerors Arc (Episode 10-12)

A large space ship is seen flying over A-city that starts destroying the city. Saitama is standing right in front of him. Saitama flies towards the spaceship and is attacked by laser beams but he manages to dodge them. He then proceeds to board the ship.

An alien named Geryuganshoop appears in front of Saitama to fight him through telekinesis. Saitama knocks him out easily. Boros is another super powerful alien who has been observing Saitama. Their fight starts. 

Boros was quite powerful and Saitama had to use his special punch in order to take him down. All heroes are greatly stunned by Saitama’s strength and can’t believe their eyes when Saitama returns back from the space ship.

 

9. King Arc (Episode 13)

In this arc, we’re introduced to King, an S-Class hero. King comes across a monster robot named G4 who was after him. G4 challenged him but King told G4 that he needs to go to the bathroom. Now, King was thought to be the strongest hero in the world due to a misunderstanding. In reality, he’s very cowardly and weak.

King runs away to his house and Genos has to face G4. When he reaches his home, he finds Saitama there. King tells Saitama everything while teary-eyed. Fortunately, Saitama doesn’t care about his situation and decides to keep it a secret.

 

10. Garou Introduction Arc (Episode 13-14)

We are introduced to Garou in this arc. He challenges all the villains when they are gathered at the Hero Association Headquarters. He reveals that as a child, he always took the side of the villains but they were never the winners. He decided that he would be the strongest villain then.

Garou manages to defeat all the criminals at the headquarters and challenges all the heroes, declaring a war against them.

 

11. The Blizzard Group Arc (Episode 14)

Three B-Class Heroes, Blizzard, Eyelashes and Mountain Ape, pay a visit to Saitama, offering him to work under them. Saitama refuses and that’s when Eyelashes and Mountain Ape attack him. Saitama manages to knock them out easily.

Blizzard then angrily starts fighting with Saitama but isn’t able to touch him. Their fight is interrupted by Genos and Sonic’s fight. Sonic’s attention shifts to Saitama and he starts attacking him just to get knocked out immediately. Blizzard is greatly impressed by Saitama’s strength.

At the Hero Association, Genos is named “Demon Cyborg” and Saitama is named “Caped Baldy”. Garou has been rampaging heroes and is very excited to fight S-Class Heroes. 

 

12. Hero Hunt Arc (Episode 15)

Garou continues the Hero hunt and comes across Mumen Rider and the Tank Top Army this time. He’s brutally beaten by the Tank Top Master. He wants to kill Garou but Mumen Rider stops him. Garou manages to gain his strength back and starts attacking Tank Top Master and his Army, injuring all of them.

 

13. Monster Raid Arc (Episode 16-18)

This arc starts by introducing Metal Bat. As Garou’s next target was Metal Bat, he’s really excited to fight him. The two start fighting and Metal Bat takes a good beating. 

The Monster Association wants Garou to join them but Garou declines their offer. The monsters have invaded a lot of cities and are wreaking havoc. This whole arc is about our heroes trying to fend off the monsters that have invaded the cities. 

 

14. Super Fight Arc (Episode 18-21)

At the Super Fight, Saitama, who is fighting in the place of Charanko by acting  and looking like him, gets disqualified because it is revealed that he’s wearing a wig. 

Saitama and King are sharing a deep conversation when an injured Garou comes across them. Just when he’s about to attack King, Saitama kicks him and knocks him down.

 

15. Monster Association Arc (Episode 21- Ongoing)

In this Arc, our heroes raid Garou in his hideout. Garou is able to withstand the attacks but is brutally injured at the end of their fight. Bang, Bomb and Genos arrive there and start fighting Garou. Garou is saved by Phoenix Man who lifts him up and flies him away from the heroes.
