Hello everyone! I’m back! I bet you missed me. If you didn’t, that’s okay because I miss you. Today, we will be presenting you with a spectacular blog. The chronological watch order of a lot of anime series can be confusing, especially with the timeless Cowboy Bebop series.
But as always, we’ve got your back. We want to make your binging experience easier, and what better way than creating a Foolproof Guide for watching Cowboy Bebop.
Table of Contents
Before we get started, I think it is best to give you a brief introduction to Cowboy Bebop. Cowboy Bebop has three movies and one 26 episode season under its belt. It aired in 1998, and this Sci-fi work of art has been gaining an amazing fanbase.

Even after 33 years, fans can’t get enough of this unique story. Three days ago, Netflix released a trailer to the live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop.
That’s right! There is going to be a Cowboy Bebop live-action—and Netflix is funding it. Between you and me, I don’t really vibe with Netflix. Sure, there are some interesting shows, but only a handful on a good day. And they are usually the ones I’ve watched before. So, there is not much to this streaming website.
Until now. Aren’t you excited for this Netflix version of Cowboy Bebop?! I am! Since this show has such a huge fandom, surely Netflix is smart enough not to butcher the live-action. Right?!

Cowboy Bebop: Ein’s Summer Vacation

Did you really think I was going to give a table, then leave you hanging? I’m better than that, I swear! Whenever I click on a Watch Order blog for any series, I notice how they don’t have quick and snappy individual episode descriptions.
So, I want what’s best for you all. These summaries are short and vague, which is what I prefer. You don’t want me to give you a spoiler or two, do you? No. Then what do you have to lose?
Chronological Order
Episode 1: Asteroid Blues

Hmm, I wonder what the first episode will be? If you guessed an introduction to the main cast, then sorry to disappoint, you’re wrong.
However, this pilot establishes a few crucial aspects of the Bebop series. Spike and Jet are bounty hunters who live a standard, normal life. That is until they learn about a new bounty hunter.
Episode 2: Stray Dog Strut

Remember our two hunters? Spike and Jet? Yeah, they’re on another adventure. In this episode, they’re going after a man. But not just any man! Abdul Hakim is a wanted criminal. Why is he a criminal?
No, he didn’t steal a Snickers bar from a gas station. But he did steal an incredibly valuable suitcase from a lab.
The only problem for Spike and Jet is that Abdul has gotten some plastic surgery done. It’s hard to find a person who doesn’t look like their selves.
Episode 3: Honky Tonk Women

The lovely Faye has entered the chat ladies and gentlemen. Miss Valentine is on the run. But she isn’t running. She’s being held captive by a man that owns a casino. He wants her to do one specific job.
If Faye does this one task, she’ll get rid of all her soul-crushing debt. But what is it that she was asked? And how does she meet our workaholic duo?
Episode 4: Gateway Shuffle

Don’t worry. Faye hasn’t left us. But she’s lost all her cash. And she’s stranded on top of that. Life hasn’t been her BFF; I’ll tell you that much.
What will she do? Also, Spike and Jet are trying to catch a man named Morgan. But apparently, that wasn’t as riveting as capturing a leader of an eco-terrorist group.
Episode 5: Ballad of Fallen Angels

We learn more about Spike and his past in this episode. All because of a whopping 28 million Woolong bounty. Calm your horses. This bounty isn’t for Spike, it’s for Mao Yenrai. You may know him as the Red Dragon’s boss.
Episode 6: Sympathy for the Devil

What?! Spike and Jet are on another adventure?! Who would have guessed? Just kidding, these guys are always trying to catch someone.
The bounty hunter duo is out to catch Giraffe. No, not the animal. A leader of the Self Defense Volunteer Squad.
I’m not one to make fun of people’s names, but I lost it when I saw Spike was following Giraffe’s friend, Zebra.
Yeah, Zebra. Giraffe and Zebra. Anyway, while Spike was spying on Zebra, he came across a musical prodigy known as Wen. Wen is a child. But there is something odd about this kid. What could it be?
Episode 7: Heavy Metal Queen

Faye joins in on the duo’s madness. The new trio is after a man named Decker. Is it weird that I’m singing Deck the Halls right now? Not even two days before Halloween. And I’m not even Christian, what the heck?
Before I succumb to my insanity, allow me to wrap this episode description together. Anyway, Faye is waiting for Decker in an ice cream shop. She ends up seeing him, but right before she captures him, she’s met with a bunch of explosives.
I don’t think this is a spoiler, but by anime logic and plot armor, it’s safe to say that she probably isn’t dead. Probably.
Episode 8: Waltz for Venus

Miss Valentine and Spike are anticipating an aircraft getting hijacked on Venus Colony. Why is this so important for them?
Well, because those hijackers have a pretty bounty on their heads. But a passenger that goes by the name Roco Bannoro has his sights set on Spike.
Mr. Bannoro gives Spike a package. Guys, stranger danger. Don’t accept anything from someone you just met. Come on.
Anyway, Spike later realizes that Mr. Bannoro is not your average kind of dude. He’s got the bounty. PLOT TWIST~
Episode 9: Jamming with Edward

Are you interested in Jet? Well, this episode showcases his home when he was a cop—Ganymede. Bebop is on another rendezvous of delivering Baker Panchorero who’s a bounty.
We learn more about Jet and his past. For example, we see flashbacks about him, and his ex-girlfriend named Alisa.
During their expedition, Jet stumbles across Alisa! The world truly is small. As the two ex-lovers catch up, Spike meets Rhint who is Alisa’s boyfriend.
The thing is, Rhint has a bounty on him. Yeesh, talk about awkwarddddddddd.
Episode 10: Ganymede Elegy

Is someone hacking the satellite mainframe? Well, that’s what the police think when they see weird pictures on the Earth’s surface.
But our trusty bounty hunters know better than that. Miss Valentine and Jet embark on a mission to find this hacker.
After much searching, they found out who is the one responsible for the hacking. Someone that goes by the name, “Radical Edward”.
I don’t like spoiling things for anyone. But let’s just say that capturing Radical Edward isn’t as radical as Jet and Faye anticipated.
Episode 11: Toys in the Attic

Jet ends up losing all his clothes. Don’t ask. Instead of asking why, you should be wondering how he will salvage whatever dignity he has left? Like what any naked person would do, Jet naturally looks for clothes.
As he is searching for, at this point, any piece of cloth, he gets bitten by a mysterious animal. Miss Valentine (the cause of his nakedness) and Spike assume that Jet was attacked by some rat.
Unfortunately, they soon realize that Jet is in deep, fatal trouble.
Episode 12: Jupiter Jazz (Division One)

Oh no! The girls are fighting! Just kidding, but not really. Faye did the classic hit and run. She didn’t ring a cranky neighbor’s doorbell and dashed on the spot, she took the cash and dipped.
Ed finds a codename from the Blue Crow Bar—Julia. With only this piece of information, Spike and Jet took off to track our Miss Valentine.
Episode 13: Jupiter Jazz (Division Two)

Here is a bit of background information in case you haven’t watched the series: Gren was part of the Titan War. He is actually a veteran.
In this episode, Gren tells Faye about his mast and a man named Vicious.
Episode 14: Bohemian Rhapsody

Chessmaster Hex. Are you good at chess? Well, I’m not. I couldn’t play for the life of me. Our handy dandy bounty hunter crew is on the search for this man.
Word on the street has it that Chessmaster is the one responsible for the multiple robberies taking place at the hyperspace gates toll booths—sorry, even I cringed at the ‘word on the street’. But I want to sound hip for you youngsters.
In the midst of their current mission, the Bebop crew stumble across important info about a fifty-year-old accident at the gate.
Episode 15: My Funny Valentine

Are you interested in Faye Valentine and her past? Well, this episode focused on just that. We all know that Faye has a large debt hanging above her head, right?
Faye learns about how she ended up with her debt. All because she met a man linked to her history.
Episode 16: Black Dog Serenade

Fad is Jet’s previous partner, and Fad right now needs some help. A prison ship was intercepted and damaged. A bunch of inmates have taken over this ship.
Udai Taxim is the leader of this criminal group. And he’s dangerous. He’s an assassin. Yikes.
Episode 17: Mushroom Samba

I’m the type of girl who thinks about what to eat for dinner while eating lunch. It’s pretty pathetic, but the food is what gets me up in the morning. You can judge, I’ll give you that, but don’t send hate my way. I know you’re the same.
Bebop has run out of both meals and fuel. Ein and Ed are now on a different type of mission, a mission to get some grub.
This should be a simple errand, right? So why are hallucinogenic mushrooms involved in this?!
Episode 18: Speak Like a Child

As if Faye didn’t already have enough trouble with money, she ends up losing some cash on horse racing. HORSE RACING?! You’d think she’d learn a thing or two about financial responsibility and management.
Maybe I’m being too tough on her because I believe gambling and betting are just not it but sucks for her. After all, she’s the one losing money, not me!
While she’s digging herself in a deeper hole, she gets a package on her Bebop. The package has an old cassette that can’t be played on any random device.
Once they secure the appropriate technology, they find out that this cassette is a sort of time capsule of Faye.
Episode 19: Wild Horses

This was a chaotic episode. While Spike meets the man who built his beloved ship, Faye and Jet are fishing for a pirate group.
But these aren’t any old pirates, they’re an advanced bunch! These pirates use computer-based viruses as a form of messing with cargo ships.
I can hardly create a graph on Excel, let alone make a virus.
Episode 20: Pierrot le Fou

Don’t ask me how to pronounce the title of this episode, I couldn’t tell you even if I tried.
The Bebop crew is on another mission to find Mad Pierrot. He’s a ferocious murderer. While they try to find this crazy killer, Spike is injured badly during their first meet up.
Episode 21: Boogie Woogie Feng Shui

AOI TODO! If you haven’t already, check out the Aoi Todo Character Wiki on our page. I also wrote it, so please be sure to give your two cents on it.
I hope you enjoy it!
Back to our Cowboy Bebop program, Jet receives a mysterious online message from an old friend of his. This old friend is called Pao Pu Zi.
Pao is considered one of the three top Feng Shui Masters, so he is one sick dude. Jet follows the email he was sent, only to be led to his grave.
The great Fend Shui Master died that very year. But who could have sent Jet that mysterious email?
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie

It’s the year 2071. Spike and his Bebop crew are after yet another cash prize. I mean they are bounty hunters; this is what they do for a living.
Who are they hunting now? A former military officer. His name is Vincent. Vincent was considered as a great hero. Now he is a heartless terrorist.
If his demands are not met before Halloween day arrives, he will let loose a swarm of nanobots. What happened to him?
Episode 22: Cowboy Funk

I watched a Ted Bundy documentary the other day, and I’m convinced that anyone that goes by the name Ted or Teddy is a psychopath. Hey, I don’t make the rules, I just tell it how it is.
A terrorist called Teddy Bomber was infamous. This Teddy guy would use teddy bears to disguise bombs. They would then bring the seemingly innocent-looking teddy bear up on a tall building. I think you know how this goes.
Spike somehow finds himself in another mess with a criminal. But are we surprised? At least we got a good episode out of it.
Episode 23: Brain Scratch

Miss Valentine wants to snatch a bounty. She tries to sneak into Scratch, which is a cult. I don’t care how they twist their message, but all cults are evil and morbid. Never trust them. Ever!
This cult is trying to obtain eternal life through the digitizing world. They thoroughly explain their method of transferring life onto the Internet but listen, I am the dullest tool in the shack. It’s difficult for me to understand it, so what makes you think I can explain it to you?
Since Faye is by herself, she doesn’t have any backup. This is bad, bad news for her
Episode 24: Hard Luck Woman

Faye is watching her time capsule tape as she searches for clues that may lead her further into her past. As she is looking at the tape, it appears that Edward is watching right alongside her.
Could he be the one to help Faye unravel her history?
Episode 25: The Real Folk Blues (Division One)

All I’m going to say here is that we finally get to see Julia and Spike once again. She is in grave trouble given that the Red Dragon and Vicious are on the move
Episode 26: The Real Blues (Division Two)

For your own good, I refuse to tell you how this season ends. I won’t do it. It’s a marvelous episode that ties many of the mysteries that have been poked at in the past episodes.
Please do not prepare any summary regarding this episode. It’s for your own good.
Cowboy Bebop Session XX Movie

Funny enough, this movie was intended to be the final episode. It also has multiple clips from the previous episodes with added commentary. You know, it was released after the series, so some people prefer watching this movie when they finish the anime episodes.
I personally think it doesn’t matter, but then again, what do I know. Cowboy Bebop flows so well with each other, and I liked the commentary in this film.
A lot of sources say that this is an extra episode that’s been added onto the first thirteen episodes (the ones above).
If you have Cowboy Bebop on DVD, you won’t have this episode on there because it aired on June 26th, 1998. What a ride it has been, folks! And although the series has stopped airing, that does not mean the ride has lost its momentum.
This episode is older than me! Woah, that’s shocking. Although, I don’t know why I’m surprised. Perhaps it’s because I’ve seen too much.
Cowboy Bebop: Ein’s Summer Vacation

This is a special with an alternative title: Cowboy Bebop Special or Ein’s Summer Holiday. It’s fall time, but I already miss the summer. That’s when vacations are. God, I hate university.
First of all, the soundtrack and the art are top tier. The way the colors and music blended with each other is mind blowing. The animation, specifically, the way the character’s faces displayed such raw emotions is just outstanding. I’m getting shivers just thinking about it.
The bottom line is, without giving anything away, Ein wants to be thrown into a tropical paradise with a refreshing drink in one hand and scuba gear in another. Same Ein. Same.
Conclusion

Is it already over? Oh no! I promise I’m not being sarcastic. This is just one of the cons of virtual text. Cowboy Bebop is a fantastic science fiction anime show, and despite having aired more than thirty years ago, they have accumulated a devoted fanbase.
Since we are at the end of the blog, it’s only right to address the elephant in the room—if you’ve already completed the Cowboy Bebop anime series.
There has been controversy regarding the ending of the show. There are lot of people who didn’t like how the show ended, some even saw it as abrupt and sudden.
