Kinji Hakari is not a new name for the fans, as he had been mentioned long ago during the Goodwill Event Arc. He has been mentioned as someone who can even go on to challenge Satoru Gojo in the future.

Initially, Kinji was shown to have black coloured hair which was later revealed to have a light colour.
He is fairly young with sharp eyes and a light moustache. While working in the underground fight club, Kinji is shown to be wearing a fur coat over his pants along with a pair of dress shoes.
Personality
Self-Centred
Kinji Hakari has a wild personality who refuses to be bound by the rules and regulations of the world. He is a free spirit who always seems to be on an adrenaline rush and gets himself involved in many shady businesses.
Kinji only involves himself in activities that suit his needs. As long as he is getting the results he desires, he refuses to care for anything else. He was even portrayed as moody by Yuta Okkotsu (Jujutsu Kaisen Manga: Chapter 146).
Confident
Kinji is extremely confident in his abilities which is proved by the fact that he has managed to run an underground fight club despite still being so young.
However, this is often deemed as reckless by his classmates who don’t believe that he can be of any good. (Jujutsu Kaisen Manga: Chapter 153).
Strengths and Skills
At this point, we are still in the dark regarding the exact abilities of Hakari. However, there is enough evidence to point that he is an extremely powerful character.
Satoru Gojo himself recognised Kinji as someone who can defeat him (Jujutsu Kaisen Manga and Anime: Chapter 11 and Episode 6). Even Yuta believes that Kinji is more powerful than him when he is ready to take his battles seriously.

- Despite not being introduced properly in the story, he managed to secure 54th place in the first-ever official popularity rankings of Jujutsu Kaisen.
- Hakari’s clothes in the underground fight club have a keen resemblance to what Tyler Durden wore in the movie Fight Club.
Past/History
Hakari Kinji was a prodigious student in Tokyo Jujutsu High who vanished after clashing with the top authorities of the school. His name was mentioned by Maki when she told both Nobara and Itadori that he cannot participate in the Kyoto Goodwill Event as he was suspended for some reason.
Relationships
Yuta Okkotsu
Hakari seems to be the closest person to Yuta Okkotsu. It is possible that Hakari deems Yuta to be a worthy rival to him.
Kirara Hoshi
Although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, Kirara seems to be the girlfriend of Hakari, working alongside him.

Cursed Training Arc
This was the introductory arc for Hakari as the Tokyo Jujutsu High students were looking for strong members to participate in the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc (Jujutsu Kaisen Manga: Chapter 146).
