Sword Art Online, or SAO for short, is a new generation anime series directed by Tomohiko Ito. It is one of the anime that is pushing the Isekai genre in new directions. We’ve seen a lot of anime based on other worlds, but SAO is a top-rated show that has won the hearts of many fans.

She grew up alongside Eugeo and Kirito in the Underworld. She can communicate with people in spirit form and also heal injured characters. Leafa – Suguha Kirigaya
Neither Leafa nor Kirito had any idea they were cousins because her mother had raised him since he was a child after his parents died in a car accident. As a kid, she is playful and jovial, but she doesn’t like how Kirito doesn’t play with her. For the past eight years, Leafa has used kendo to cope with loneliness and solitude. She has always had a crush on Kirito, just like Liz, which she later overcame after meeting him in ALO.
Llenn – Karen Kohiruimaki
She grew up alongside Eugeo and Kirito in the Underworld. She can communicate with people in spirit form and also heal injured characters. As an Integrity Knight, she was named Alice Synthesis Thirty. She fought alongside Kirito and Eugeo to defeat Quinella and put an end to Quinella’s tyranny in the Underworld.

Lisbeth- Rika Shinozaki
She owns a blacksmith shop and is quite proud of her abilities. She later became Kirito’s blacksmith after she helped him weld a sword (Dark Repulser).
She developed feelings for Kirito in their quest for a key ingredient to making his sword with. She remained a loyal friend to Asuna despite having feelings for Kirito.
Yuuki - Yuuki Konno
Yuuki was popularly known as Absolute Sword in Alfheim Online, as none of the other players could defeat her in a duel. Yuuki is a cheerful kid, despite her critical health condition. After playing a variety of virtual games, she met some other terminally ill kids just like herself and formed a guild with them.
The ultimate goal of the Sleeping Knights guild in the game was to defeat a specific level boss so that their name could appear on the top leader board, which they accomplished with assistance from Asuna.

Yuuna - Yuuna Shigemura
Yuuna was known as the Song Enchanter among the 10,000 gamers confined in SAO. She has a knack for identifying when a player is in a bad mood and for lifting others’ spirits with music.
Yuuna had to keep learning how to play the classical guitar and piano since she grew up with a father like Shigemura Tetsuhiro, who was quite rigid. Yuuna Died when she opted to sacrifice herself to spare her party mates from being annihilated by a group of tormentor-class minions on the 40th floor.

Sinon’s personality is best described by the terms calm and cool, as she maintains her cool even in the face of danger. Sinon had been traumatized since a childhood incident in which she accidentally shot an armed robber.
She is a loner with no friends except Kyouji, who has feelings for her. Kyouji, whose true identity was revealed to be Death Gun, attempted to attack her at home, but Kirito intervened and saved her from him.

Asuna – Asuna Yuuki
The major heroine in SAO, girlfriend, and in-game wife to Kirito. Asuna is a beautiful, intelligent, and strong female character loved by many other players. She made a huge contribution in SAO, fighting in the frontlines clearing game stages with her guild (Knights of Blood Oath) as the deputy leader.
After Kirito cleared the game, she was among the characters that didn’t wake up in the real world as they were transferred and trapped by Nobuyuki Sugou Into another game (Alfeim Online). Her Prince in shining armor; Kirito, came to save the day. They share a special bond as they’re both in love with each other. Asuna is one of the strongest, if not the strongest in the series.

Silica - Keiko Ayano
She rose to fame despite being a mid-level gamer after taming a beast and named it after her real-life cat. Because of the respect, she’d gained as a beast tamer, many people tried to curry favor with her, prompting her to develop an inflated ego. She refuses to communicate with anyone, particularly the men. Her interaction with Kirito was borne out of the fact that he helped her save Pina, her pet beast.
Kirito – Kirigaya Kazuto
The protagonist is a gamer who has played a lot of games before coming across SAO. He understands exactly how to survive in a game world, given his experience in other VRMMOs, which helped him as he went along in all the games he played, including SAO, GGO, ALO, and Underworld. His strength and skills earned him the respect of other players. It’s ironic how he doesn’t look like the strong character he is, and one that’s easy-going with a good heart.
After he defeated Kayaba, who created SAO and trapped over 10,000 players in the game, he released everyone from the game at level 75 instead of the expected level 100. With his skill set and sense of humor, he’s a wonderful character that has earned the hearts of many fans.
