The official staff of Otakon confirmed that the event will occur this year in Washington D.C. And this won’t be an online event as you can clearly see from the title. Otakon 2021 will have an in-person setting where Anime fans will continue to have fun just like the normal days.
Otakon’s staff said:
Table of Contents
“first major convention event to be held as D.C. reopens.”
Even though there won’t be any tolerance for international guests, fans from D.C can attend the Otakon this year. Sounds unreal, right?
The staff also said;
“Otakon is dedicated to the safety of its membership and will be following any CDC and local guidelines that may still be in effect at the time of the convention.” So, first thing’s first, when is the event going to occur?

Otakon Schedule for 2021

Otakon will be held from August 6 to August 8, and fans weren’t more excited. Due to the COVID restrictions, we haven’t seen any major Anime Cons in the world. However, thanks to the vaccine and the magic of ANIME fans, this might be the first major convention indeed.
Right now, the event has already raised over $34,000 but the restrictions are still there. Hence, let’s see what COVID restrictions we will get to see in Otakon this year.
Otakon 2021 Covid Restriction
First of all, you’ll be asked to wear a mask all the time. However, proof of vaccination won’t be required. That’s great news for Anime fans from all over the world. But the restrictions will be waived during eating and drinking.
