Unlike Toman, Moebius is a gang that is full of delinquents that not only have no moral sense but are not afraid to flaunt their strength to prey on the weak. It’s full of guys that are plain dirty such as Shuji Hanma, Osanai, and Kisaki. Quoting Draken, he describes Moebius as a gang that strayed from the true path of delinquents.

History

It is unclear who was the first leader and the founding members of Moebius. All that is known about their origin is that they are two generations behind Toman and their territory has always been in Shinjuku.

Moebius had its debut in the Manga in Chapter 14 and episode 6 in the anime adaptation. Moebius was present throughout the Moebius Arc which lasted from Chapter 13 to Chapter 33 of the Manga.

Takemichi arrived at the meeting of Toman executives which included Mikey, Draken, Pehyan, and Pah-Chin where they were discussing how to fight against Moebius. Takemichi tried to stop Mikey from fighting Moebius but would fail. Osanai along with his group in Moebius arrived and surround Mikey, Takemichi, and the others. When Moebius and Toman had started their first confrontation Osanai would beat Pah-Chin to the ground. When Pah-Chin was congratulated by Mikey for fighting till the end, Mikey would go up against Osanai himself. Osanai would be beaten by Mikey when he used his signature roundhouse kick.

As Mikey was turning around, Osanai would pick up a broken bottle and attempted to stab Draken. He would be subdued by Draken easily and Draken would then shout that Moebius is now under Toman. Unexpectedly, Pah-Chin would stab Osanai with a knife and tell everyone to run now that the police are coming. He would turn himself in, which resulted in an argument between Mikey and Draken.

The next confrontation between Moebius and Toman would be Chapter 22 in the Manga whereas Takemichi, Mikey, and Draken met and started to figure out Moeibus’ plans, Shuji Hanma, their temporary leader along with the rest of Moebius arrive and take actions to kill Mikey and Draken. As Moebius was starting their move, every member of Toman arrives to fight back against Moebius.

Moebius would lose both fights against Toman and Kisake Tetta would convince Mikey to let him and his group join Toman as the 3rd Division in exchange for Pah-Chin’s release. The rest of Moebius along with Shuji Hanma would join Valhalla and fight Toman once more in the future.

Members

1998 Group

Nobutaka Osanai

Nobutaka Osanai is the former 8th Leader of Moebius and the strongest member of the gang in his prime. He is designated as the head of the 1998 generation within Moebius and is the first enemy Toman had to deal with.

Osanai is a very proficient fighter, being able to execute moves that can be seen in Boxing. He easily beat Pah-Chin who couldn’t land a single hit on him. With his abilities, he was able to take control of Moebius and Shinjuku with fear. Although the best fighter in his gang, he would be easily taken out by both Draken and Mikey. Osanai would be gravely wounded when he was stabbed by Pah-Chin.

In the original timeline, Osanai became a construction worker who looked poor to the bone. He regretted ever being involved in Draken’s death which brought his downfall.

1990 Group

Kisaki Tetta

Kisaki Tetta is the head of the 1990 generation within Moebius and is the main villain in the Tokyo Revengers series. Kisaki was not involved in the first encounter of Moebius and Toman but orchestrated everything that happened and will happen. He was the one that planned Draken’s death in the original timeline and was the one who was the source of Toman’s corruption when he manipulated Mikey.

Kisaki would go to extreme lengths to achieve his plans even waiting several years to become Japan’s top delinquent to prove himself to Hinata Tachibana and plan her murder when he was rejected. He is a man who became the devil by manipulating everyone and only taking care of himself. He would become the 3rd Division Captain of Toman when he proposed that Mikey let his group within Moebius join Toman in exchange for Pah-Chin’s release from custody. Kisaki Tetta is also the shadow leader of Valhalla which they call The Headless Angel.

Shuji Hanma

After Osanai’s injury due to Pah-Chin’s stab, Shuji Hanma would become the temporary leader of Moebius. Shuji is also Kisaki’s partner in crime albeit another tool to Kisaki. He would lead the fight against Toman in Chapter 22 of the Manga and was the one who ordered all of Moebius to kill Mikey and Draken.

When the two gangs clashed, Hanma was able to block Mikey’s iconic roundhouse kick and seem like he wasn’t even damaged by the hit. He was given the nickname, Zombie by Draken due to his immense endurance. When the fight between Toman and Moebius ended, Shuji Hanma was the only member of Moebius left standing and even commented that he was bored of his fight against Mikey.

Hanma would become the temporary leader of Valhalla when he leads the remaining members of Moebius who did not disband or join Toman to ally with Kazutora’s anti-Toman group.

Battles

Moebius Vs. Toman 1

moebius vs toman 1

Moebius’ first fight in the series’ events would be against Toman when Osanai and his group surprised Mikey, Takemichi, and Draken when they were discussing how to attack Moebius. They would confidently walk up to Mikey and the others. Osanai would beat up Takemichi when Takemichi looked at him and Pah-Chin would then step up to fight Osanai 1 on 1, sadly Pah-Chin would lose. The fight ended when Osanai was stabbed by Pah-Chin after he was subdued by Draken when he tried to stab him after Mikey knocked him out in 1 kick. Moebius would lose this first encounter with the cost of Pah-Chin turning himself in.

Moebius Vs. Toman 2

Moebius

Moebius would have its second confrontation with Toman when Shuji Hanma with the rest of Moebius tried to kill Draken and Mikey. The rest of Toman would suddenly appear turning it into an all-out gang war. At the end of this fight, Toman would emerge victorious with Shuji Hanma the only man left standing on Moebius’ side. In this encounter, Draken would also be stabbed by Kiyosama but will not die due to Takemichi’s actions. After this fight, Moebius would disband, with 3 groups going their separate ways. Kisaki Tetta would lead a group to join Toman, Shuji Hanma would join Valhalla, while Osanai’s group would permanently disband.

Final Verdict

Moebius is the first enemy Toman would have an all-out war with. Thinking back, after Osanai’s stabbing incident, Moebius was not lead by Shuji Hanma but by Kisaki Tetta who became the one who gave Hanma orders when he was the temporary leader of Moebius. Even when Moebius fought two times against Toman, they were unable to come out victorious which emphasized their lack of strength even if they were an older gang.

Moebius is the complete opposite of Toman who values the honor of their allies and protects their friends at all costs. By straying from the path of a true delinquent, Moebius ensured its destruction as every one of them was being manipulated by a much eviler force. And that evil will grasp Toman with its claws.
