Tanjiro Kamado
Tanjiro Kamado is the main protagonist of the series and is a Demon Slayer who wishes to turn her sister into a normal human being after she got turned into a Demon. He lost all of his family when the Demon King, Muzan, attacked them.
Tanjiro is very kind and gentle, possessing gentle eyes. He has a strong will and never gives up no matter what. His determination is no joke. Tanjiro is extra protective of his friends and will go out of his way to help them whenever they need it.
He never fails to empathize with people around him even if they’re villains and try to kill him. He hesitates before killing anyone but with the passage of time, he learns to not listen to his heart while dealing with lethal monsters as it could cost him his life. Overall, Tanjiro’s personality is very pleasing and he gets along really well with everyone.
6. Zenitsu Agatsuma
Zenitsu, along with Tanjiro, is a Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer corpse and also a travelling buddy of Tanjiro. He harbours deep feelings for Nezuko and is very protective of her.
Zenitsu seems to be very cowardly and gets easily intimidated if he finds anything slightly unusual. He also is very insecure about his potential and powers. He’s a crybaby and runs away as soon as he senses some sort of danger.
Despite being a coward and a crybaby, Zenitsu never fails to impress his companions as he gets all serious when there’s a potential threat to Nezuko. He becomes 10x stronger and more agile when he unleashes his full potential.
He has immense respect for his companions, including Tanjiro and Inosuke and also admires his deceased teacher.
Zenitsu also has a flirty side to him and is flirting with girls he finds attractive. His docile and cowardly nature instantly vanishes as soon as she sees a woman. He’s also very annoying sometimes!
5. Inosuke Hashibara
Inosuke Hashibara is also a Demon Slayer serving the Demon Corps and travels with Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma.
Inosuke covers his face by wearing a boar’s head and what we find under it is his extremely feminine and adorable face. His personality does not go with his face at all. He has a very short temper and is not someone to mess with. He’s not afraid of any sort of enemy, no matter how strong his opponent is. However, that often lands him in some sticky situations as he always underestimates his opponents and thinks that he’s overpowered.
He’s always aware of his surroundings and thinks that the only way to interact with someone is to fight them or attack them out of nowhere.
After some time, Inosuke is able to harbour some degree of kindness and affection inside of him after closely watching Tanjiro and his ways. Though he comes off as rude most of the time, we still adore Inosuke!
4. Nezuko Kamado
Nazuko is the reason behind the constant struggles of Tanjiro as she got turned into a Demon and Tanjiro wants to turn her back into a human. Despite being turned into a Demon, Nezuko is able to retain some of her human senses and aspects that keep her sane.
As a human, Nezuko was very kind, polite and caring. She used to help her mother with everyday chores and greatly dote on her younger siblings. However, after turning into a Demon, Nezuko ended up having little to no memory of her life as a human. But she still cares greatly for humans, avoiding to attack them.
Nezuko became bolder and more brave when she got turned into a Demon. She’s ready to fight anyone who could prove to be a possible threat to her loved ones. Despite being a Demon, Nezuko does not fail to show off her adorable nature and girly charms.
3. Giyu Tomioka
Giyu Tomioka is a Water Hashira and one of the Demon Slayers serving the Demon Slayer Corps. He’s one of those guys who are super quiet and serious all the time. It’s very hard to tell what Giyu is thinking as he has a mysterious vibe.
Giyu is our true justice soldier. He does not tolerate anyone who goes against the rules. He kills Demons brutally and feels no hesitation in slaughtering them. However, we see his soft side when he hesitates killing Nezuko, coming to the conclusion that she might be saved and get her life back as a human back.
He seems to be unfazed by the constant poking and teasing of shinobu, his very close friend. He always successfully ignores her attempts to tease him which we find really commendable.
Giyu often appears to be aloof but he greatly cares for the people around him, lending him a hand whenever they need it. He is a true brave hero that every story needs!
2. Shinobu Kocho
Shinobu Kocho is an insect Hasira and is also a Demon Slayer in the Demon Corps. She has a very cheerful nature that is bound to lift your mood up whenever you see her. She’s also very friendly, getting along with almost everyone around her. She wears a cute smile on her face no matter how harsh the circumstances are around her.
Despite looking all calm and cheery, Shinobu does not feel any sympathy towards Demons. She slaughters them brutally without any regret whatsoever. Initially, she was not very fond of the idea of letting Nezuko live. However, later, she’s more understanding of the situation and gets along well with both Nezuko and Tanjiro.
1. Kyojuro Rengoku
Kyojuro Rengoku is the flame Hashira and a Demon Slayer serving the Demon Corps as well. He has this weird eccentric personality that often creeps others out. He appears to be a cheerful man without a worry in this world.
No matter how hard the situation is, we haven’t seen this man change his expressions and wear a frown on his forehead. He gets things done in an instant and possesses very impressive skills.
He is very strict in terms of morals and discipline, educating everybody around him about them. He also has a very strong sense of duty and thinks that it is his duty to protect the weak.
