Attack on Titan, also known as Shingeki no Kyojin, is a highly regarded Japanese manga and animated series brought to life by the skilled creator, Hajime Isayama. It is set in a world where humanity lives within the walls to protect itself from giant humanoid creatures called Titans. People are crazy about it, especially when we all find out that titans were shapeshifters! If you don’t want to get spoiled then get-out-a here already! By the way, the new season is coming and will definitely break the internet! What? You haven’t watch AOT?! Then before we proceed you should checked out our Attack on Titan watch order guide.
Everyone wants to know who is the strongest character in Attack on Titan, don’t we? Is it Eren? Mikasa? Armin? Or the all-time favorite Captain Levi? The strengths of the characters in AOT can vary greatly, with some characters being more skilled in certain areas than others. For example, Levi and Mikasa are known for their mobility, while Armin and Erwin are known for their intelligence and strategic thinking.
I love AOT to be honest and for me, this blog was so fun, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading about such unique characters. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get into my blog.
THE STRONGEST ATTACK ON TITAN CHARACTERS
26. Historia Reiss (Queen of Walls)
Everyone bow your head to your queen. Well, we all know she is intelligent, and yeah, she is beautiful, no doubt. But how many of you know that she is the last royal family member? The last of the Reiss Royal Family. Historia was hiding her real identity under the name Krista Lenz.
Krista or Historia doesn’t matter; she is the queen. (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 69). The question is, is she powerful? We all remember what she did in the Royal government Arc.
25. Connie Springer (Survey Corp)
What can I say about this crazy dude? He got 8th rank during training time. Do you remember how he was when he was a trainee? He was Mr. Gossip, but he was friendly and liked messing around. We can’t forget one thing when he saluted the instructor with the wrong hand and got punished. (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 15)
Connie is not so much of an influential person. He was afraid of titans, but he showed his bravery in the Female Titan Arc. To be honest, I might’ve raked him up, but his character development is not so great.
Connie is a pure soul who cares for his people. I still remember how he cried in Return to Shiganshina arc when Reiner was taken down by survey cops. Connie was also the one who was shaken from our potato girl’s death. (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 105)
24. Sasha Blouse (Survey Corp)
Ahh, here she is, our “Potato Girl”. Man, I love her like she is so polite and a real foodie. You might wonder why she was ranked 9th in the class still why she is above Connie right? Well hungry Sasha can even solo Connie, not just him, even Mikasa. Without a doubt.
I can’t forget during such an intense moment during the Battle of Trost District arc, she stole meat and offered it to everyone. Well, it cheered everyone up, so it was not bad. People really didn’t deserve such a kind soul. Am I right or not?
I wish I could’ve stopped her from going to Marley. During the Marley Arc, we saw Sasha in some action, didn’t we? But Marley was also where Sasha lost her life (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter 105). I won’t lie; I cried over her death.
23. Hange Zoe (Survey Corp)
Here she is our most intelligent character and 14th commander of the Survey Corps. Well, we all know her obsession with titans. I mean, she wanted to do a lot of experiments on them. Remember when she asked Eren so desperately if she could perform experiments on him?
Don’t forget that she was chosen by Erwin to be the commander. That’s not it, no one knows Titans better than Hange, she is not someone you’ll mess with.
Well, if you remember and if you’ve read the manga, you’ll know that if Hange was not there, Levi could have died. Hange was the one who found the badly injured Levi and saved his life.
Hange died, and that was the Chapter I was not ready for (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 133). She died as a hero and Devoted herself to the betterment of humanity.
22. Jean Kirstein (Survey Corp)
Jean is not really my type of character but I admit he is powerful. He was even ranked 6th during the training. I mean to me, he is pretty annoying. I still remember how he holds a grudge against Eren because of Mikasa. I like one thing about him: he is straightforward and says what he thinks.
During the Return to Shiganshina arc, Jean saved Hange from the Cart Titan (Attack on Titan Chapter: 83). During this arc, I liked him because he was seen in full action, and he was also pretty helpful.
21. Erwin Smith (Survey Corp)
13th commander of the Survey Corps, Erwin Smith. Erwin was a real god of the battlefield. His tactics were always amazing. Erwin’s voice actor stopped watching the show after his death. So, you can tell how great a character he was.
Erwin was the one who came up with the decision that Eren’s Titan could be used, and he’ll play a crucial role in taking Wall Maria back (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 18). During Clash of Titan Arc, Erwin lost one of his arms, but it didn’t bother.
Characters like Erwin are hard to find. Erwin was the one who cared for his men, but he was also the one who didn’t hesitate while sacrificing anyone for the betterment of humanity. In a clash against the beast titan during Return to Shiganshina arc (one of the most intense Attack on Titan episodes BTW!), Erwin lost his life and died as a true hero (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 84).
20. Kenny Ackerman (Assassin)
Well, in a fair fight, I don’t think Erwin can take down Kenny, and to me, Kenny is one of the most badass characters. After all, he is an Ackerman. Not to mention, he was a ruthless assassin who has even killed 100 military soldiers.
Kenny is the one who taught Levi survival skills. He is Levi’s uncle, after all, but he hid it. Kenny even killed Historia’s mother (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 52). He was obeying the orders of Historia’s father, Rod Reiss (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 52).
We’ve seen a great battle between Levi and Kenny, and we’ve seen Kenny betraying Rod Reiss and calling him a coward. We can say Kenny is someone who’ll do anything for his entertainment, and that’s what makes him dangerous.
19. Pieck Finger (Cart Titan)
Tell me I’m not the only one who is a simp for Pieck. Pieck is a Marley citizen, and she is one of Marley’s soldiers, not to mention, she has the power of the Cart Titan. She is the Cart Titan, so she has a habit of walking on all fours. That’s not odd to me.
During Return to Shiganshina Arc, Pieck played an essential role in saving Zeke Yeager from Levi. When Pieck was first introduced on the battlefield, she was a living machine gun. Her titan form was fully armored, and it was equipped with several machine guns.
I still can’t forget when Pieck said Eren is the enemy (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 116). In the War for Paradis Arc (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 107-125), Pieck made several helpful decisions; however, she was not able to stop Eren from becoming the Founding Titan, which eventually made her father a titan. 18. Ymir (Jaw Titan)
Ymir didn’t really play an important role, but she was one of them who knew about the outer world. Ymir was a self-centred and selfish type of person, but as the series continued, she showed her kind and caring side; Ymir deeply cared for Historia/Krista.
I still can’t forget when I knew that Ymir was a titan. It was revealed in Clash of Titans Arc. However, Ymir died by her own free will; she was eaten by Porco Galliard. He was the brother of Marcel Galliard, whom Ymir killed (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 39).
17. Annie Leonhart (Female Titan)
Dude, this beautiful lady is way too dangerous. She got 4th rank as the trainee and in her titan form, she killed a number of Survey Corps members. Annie revealed that she was the female titan in front of Mikasa, Eren, and Armin (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 31).
Annie was crystallized for four years; she did this to herself before being captured by the Survey Corps. Four years later, when she came out of the Crystal, she did good things, so no hate for her. 16. Eren Kruger (Attack Titan)
We can say he was the first Attack Titan who worked for Marley. Kruger was skilled enough to defeat anyone in hand to hand combat, and in his titan form, he was able to destroy a whole lot of ships and military soldiers. Eren Kruger wanted a peaceful life, but he never tasted peace and regretted his whole life.
If you remember, Grisha Yeager, aka Eren Yeager’s father, was an Attack Titan as well, and this power was given to him by Kruger. Kruger also told Grisha about everything, including Ymir’s curse and the Founding Titan’s origin (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter 89).
15. Frieda Reiss (Founding Titan)
She is the real queen of the walls, the sister of Historia Reiss, and daughter of Rod Reiss. Uri Reiss, Uncle of Frieda and the Founding Titan from the royal family, was devoured by Frieda and she became the next successor of the Founding Titan.
Grisha Yeager was the one who asked Frieda to help the people inside the walls, but Frieda neglected this idea which eventually led to a fight between both of them (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 90).
They both fought,Grisha won and devoured Frieda, and killed her family where Rodd Reiss was the only survivor.
14. Grisha Jaeger (Attack Titan/Founding Titan)
Here he is. The man who made Eren a titan (Attack on Titan Anime Episode: 43), who was behind many things. We all have to admit Grisha was powerful and intelligent. He gave all the information needed which was there in his basement and he had the power of two titans.
Grisha obtained the power of the Founding Titan after killing Frieda Reiss and devouring her. Grisha started a new life inside the walls and married Carla. To be honest, he was not completely bad; he did everything for his people.
13. Uri Reiss (Founding Titan)
Uri Reiss, King of the Walls, was noble, and he was from the Reiss Royal Family. Uri was a nice guy and a humble King. He cared for everyone and never held any grudge against anyone. Uri got the power of the Founding Titan from his father to get rid of Titans, which was his dream.
Kenny and Uri were good friends because of some incident. Uri bowed in front of Kenny and apologised, and that’s where Kenny acknowledged him as the King (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter 69). After Uri, his niece Frieda inherited the power of the Founding Titan (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 69).
12. Porco Galliard (Jaw Titan)
So, we know Porco was Marley’s soldier and the younger brother of former Jaw Titan, Marcel Galliard. Porco got his power from Ymir. He devoured her and became the Jaw Titan. As the Jaw Titan, Porco is strong enough to tear anything apart with his jaw.
As a character, Porco is a reliable individual. Everyone can trust him. However, he was the one who was responsible for Lara Tybur’s death. It was not intentional, but yeah, it was because of him. His Jaw broke the Crystal and killed her (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 102).
11. Falco Griece
The younger brother of Colt Grice, Falco obtained his Titan powers by devouring Porco Galliard. This was made possible because he ingested Zeke’s spinal fluid (yikes), which we all know what will happen if that hairy Titan screams! This transformation not only killed his own brother but also led to the consumption of Porco. (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 119)
As the new Jaw Titan, Falco’s Titan form possesses a new level of strength and advantage. He has a more proportional and muscular build, two sets of jaws with one capable of biting through anything, and avian traits like a beak-like outer jaw (similar to a Pokemon evolution), talon-like arms and legs, feathers, wings, a tail, and a full feathery body. With his aerial advantage, Falco is a formidable opponent.
10. Armin Arlert (Colossal Titan)
Armin is one of the most kind-hearted individuals in the series. He is a great friend everyone wishes for. I still remember when Armin punched Eren when he hurt Mikasa. Even though he got beat up by Eren, it was a pretty good punch. But if you’re one of the many who’s confused if Armin is a boy or girl? Then we have our answers waiting for you!
Armin sacrifices himself during Return to Shiganshina arc. Thanks to Erwin, Armin became the Colossal Titan instead of himself; that’s how his life was saved. Erwin knew that Armin’s battle tactics were greater than his and he was someone Humanity needed.
One of the most incredible moments of Armin was when he turned into the Colossal Titan near Marley, dude that was freaking cool (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 103). Armin did many things, and he played a vital role in ending the war.
Armin played an essential role in Eren’s death even though they were on good terms by the end; Eren and Armin fought in hand-to-hand combat, and yeah, Eren won again. But he made the opening for Mikasa, and she ended everything right there.
9. Bertholdt Hoover (Colossal Titan)
Bertholdt is the Colossal Titan sent by Marley; he hid his identity and worked as a spy in Survey Corps until his identity was revealed. During his time as a trainee, he got 3rd rank and wasn’t afraid of anything. He even killed countless people and titans.
Bertholdt was the one who made the hole in the wall of Shiganshina District. That’s right, it was at that time when Eren lived there, and he was a kid. This was not the only time when he did this.
Bertholdt did the same thing in Trost District; however, this time, the Survey Corps including Eren were present. Later, his identity as the Colossal Titan was revealed. A few more episodes later, he was eaten by Armin and died (Attack on Titan Anime Episode: 56).
8. Karl Fritz (Founding Titan)
The First King of the Walls and former King of Eldia, Karl Fritz. Karl was the one who created Paradis Island and raised the walls to save the Eldians. He was a Founding Titan, so it was not a big deal. He even erased the memories of the people. (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 99)
Karl Fritz later changed their surname to Reiss, started ruling the walls, and became the first-ever ruler of the walls.
7. Mikasa Ackerman (Survey Corp)
Here she is the best girl, Mikasa Ackerman. Man, I love her seriously, like she is the most loyal girl I’ve ever seen. It’s just that she doesn’t exist in real life. I’m just telling the truth. Don’t forget everyone feared her and she was the best soldier.
I don’t know what to mention about her. I mean, she is here from the beginning, and she is the one who ended everything. Mikasa is the type of person who will do everything for his close ones, and yeah, we all know about her “Erehhh.” Aside from that, there are other inspiring words she can share with us.
Mikasa’s family was killed in front of her, and Eren was the one who saved her. From that day on, Mikasa always stayed by Eren’s side. Mikasa always ensured that Eren remained safe, but by the end of the series, everything changed.
By the end of the series, Mikasa was strong enough to take down Levi or any other Survey Corps member. Mikasa was the one who killed his own Erehhh (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 138), probably the moment the whole AOT fandom was not ready for. It was a hard choice for her, but it was necessary.
6. Reiner Braun (Armoured Titan)
Did you know Reiner was only 10 years old when he got his hand on the Armoured Titan power? Reiner was the kind of person who would threaten anyone to make sure they followed his order, but he was caring at the same time. Reiner’s kill count doesn’t even have the number Hundreds? Thousands? No exact amount.
When the Colossal titan made whole in the wall, Reiner came through that hole, which was the first time we saw him. Reiner is one of the most foolish characters for me. I mean, who tells people that I was the one who did everything. I’m the titan who destroyed your hometown.
Reiner was a good guy for me. He wanted peace for his people and even asked Eren to kill him. Reiner even accepted his past mistakes and apologised to his former 104th comrades (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 133).
5. Zeke Jaeger (Beast Titan)
Zeke Jaeger, son of Grisha Jaeger, brother of Eren Jaeger and the one who is known as the Beast Titan. Those who think Reiner is stronger than Zeke should know Zeke folded Reiner quickly.
His first appearance shocked me to my core. He was terrifying. But Levi clapped him quickly. Not once, but twice. Zeke was intelligent, but I’m dumb enough to think he was related to Erwin.
To be honest, for me, Zeke was the real antagonist. He was responsible for killing Erwin, turning Levi’s squadmate into Titans. Not to mention, he exposed his own father, who could’ve changed everything.
I can’t tell how happy I was when Zeke finally died (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 137). That was a whole different level of satisfaction for me. But setting aside all the hate, you should should check some quotes by Zeke Yaeger that left an impact on all of us.
4. Levi Ackerman (Survey Corp)
Captain Levi, aka Humanity’s Strongest Soldier. Dude, he is what we call badass. Seriously, this guy literally gave me a whole lot of chills when I first saw him fight. He has the most titan kills in the show, around 200+ titan kills. Once he goes berserk, I don’t think anyone could defeat him. Levi was raised by Kenny. Kenny was his Mother’s only brother, so yeah. Levi is a rough and tough guy, but he has a soft spot for his comrades somewhere. Not to mention Erwin’s death had a significant impact on him.
Well, Levi got revenge from the Beast Titan and beat him pretty well. The Beast Titan escaped death when he was on his knees in front of Levi. I feel bad for Levi. Seriously, he was one of those who suffered the most. He has seen most of his comrades die before him; that’s why he avoided being close to people.
Levi finally kept his word and killed Zeke, aka the Beast Titan. He saw all those who lost their lives during this time and finally dedicated his heart (Shinzou wo Sasageyo!) (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 139).
3. Lara Tybur (War Hammer Titan)
Not a soldier but a Noble inherited the power of War Hammer Titan, the second strongest titan. She was LaraTybur. Lara didn’t really get screen time; we’ve only seen her in the Marley Arc.
She has the power of the War Hammer Titan and she is strong. The War Hammer Titans can create things from Titan Flesh. Not just that, they were able to control those objects created by them.
Eren fought Lara, and maybe he could’ve died there if Mikasa didn’t surprise attack Lara. Eren killed Lara; she was crystalized, so he used the Jaw Titan to break the crystal and finally devoured her (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 102). 2. Eren Yeager (Attack Titan/Founding Titan)
Protagonist or Antagonist? Good or Bad? Everyone’s opinion is different about him, but he is one of the best-written characters ever in history. We’ve seen Eren from the first episode/ first manga Chapter, and we all know his great character.
Eren was a kind kid until he saw his Mother get eaten by a titan. After the Fall of Wall Maria Eren’s life changed completely. His hate towards titans was beyond imaginable. His father, Grisha Yeager, turned him into a Titan, and Eren devoured him.
With each season and each new Chapter, Eren became stronger. He had the ability of the Attack Titan, Founding Titan, and War Hammer Titan. He killed the War Hammer Titan and got those powers (Attack on Titan Anime Episode: 66).
Eren wanted peace and freedom, but by the end of the series, he realized he was the biggest threat to humanity and asked his friend to kill him. I loved him as a character, especially the last scene where Mikasa kissed him before killing him. (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 138)
1. Ymir Fritz (First Ever Titan/ Goddess)
Many of you might not remember her, but she is the real goddess. You heard me right, the Chosen One, God’s Child. The one who created the Wall Titans for Karl Fritz (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter 120). From Ymir Fritz, came 9 known titans (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 122).
You won’t believe that Ymir’s body was eaten by her own daughters, but it was not by their own free will. People worshipped Ymir as a goddess. There were cults for whom Ymir was the real god.
Ymir was the one who gave power to Eren (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 136), which could destroy the whole of humanity, so you can imagine she is the one we actually call powerful. When Ymir saw Mikasa kissing Eren, she understood what real love was (Attack on Titan Manga Chapter: 138).
After this, Ymir’s soul got freed from everything and the Titan’s power/existence was wiped out.
