The Gomu Gomu no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that gives the user the ability to turn his body into rubber…WRONG!

Disguised by the Five Elders to pass for a useless power, this fruit is actually a Mythical Zoan type that transforms the wielder into the legendary Sun God “Nika” (One Piece Manga — Vol. 103 Chapter 1044 p. 4-5).
And that is not all…it possesses one more ability, an ability that even the Celestial Dragons don’t know about… this Fruit allows the one who ate it to use the abilities of multiple Devil Fruits!
Well, before explaining how, let’s close your gaping mouth first, because how do you even know if that theory makes sense yet?
Can Luffy Utilize Several Devil Fruits Powers at the Same Time?
To make sure you’re all up to date let’s re-explain what’s the true nature of Luffy’s Devil Fruit and who is this mysterious Sun God Nika. This will explain why our future Pirate King, Luffy got his hands on or more exactly his mouth on one hell of an OverPowered (OP) devil fruit.

What’s the Gomu Gomu No Mi?
You can stop calling Luffy’s Devil Fruit the Gomu Gomu no Mi since its true title is the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. Less catchy, I know…
This fruit was considered a treasure by the World Government. They kept its existence a complete secret for over 800 years and have been seeking it just as long. Chapter 1044
When it was finally in their possession, Shanks stole it from right under their noses. Ah! Weaklingssss hahaha, Serves them right! (Chapter 1018, Who’s-Who confirms that the Gomu Gomu no Mi was stolen by the Red Hair Pirates.)
But, the Red Hair pirates turned out to be just as dense if not more since they let a 12-year-old kid have his way with it. (Chapter 1)
In their defense, it was the WILL OF GOD at work here. Do you know? All Zoan fruits have a will of their own, they choose their owner, and the one that Nika chose…. well, you know who it is. (Chapter 1044)
The Fruit gave Luffy his rubbery body. However, its true powers were dormant and thus our captain was limited to restrictions and transformations similar in nature to most Paramecias.
When he finally awakened while fighting against the powerful monster Kaido, he transformed and took the appearance of the mythical Sun God, NIKA. (Chapter 1044)
With it, his rubbery body gained more strength and freedom and turned him into a “Warrior of Liberation”, putting smiles on faces far and wide.
The Five Elders claimed it IS the most ridiculous power in the world and yet the strongest!
Who is the Sun God Nika?
We have been talking nonstop about that god known as Nika, funny that we practically know nothing about him.
Nika is a mythical warrior that was once revered as the Sun God by slaves from ancient times, who believed that he would eventually come to free them from their suffering. He was first mentioned by Who’s-Who (tiger cp9) in Chapter 1018
He heard about the legend from a prison guard during his imprisonment, who suddenly vanished after telling the tale.
He was silenced by the World Government since they didn’t want it getting out, or at least that’s what he believes.
However, it was unknown if such a figure actually existed or not. Although Dr. Vegapunk has confirmed his existence, since ancient records mention him in Chapter 1069
Why can Luffy use multiple Devil Fruit Powers?
And why was the world government going to such lengths to get its hands on this devil fruit?
Simply because we have an ancient figure, so great, so powerful, and thus so dangerous that obviously his strength should rightfully be owned by only them.
I mean, Nika’s ability is so great that they are even willing to kill just to keep his name a secret.
Now that great figure, that warrior of Liberation reincarnated in the body of the most stubborn, the most determined Pirate of all times.
Luffy is a liberator that’s for sure. From the very beginning of One Piece, Luffy has been liberating people from all kinds of suffering. Each member of the Straw Hats was freed from an undesired situation by Luffy whether it was tyranny, loneliness, imprisonment, unjustified execution, etc. He liberated entire nations from oppression for no greater purpose other than it simply felt right to him.
Now the five elders said something that piqued my interest. As they were talking about Nika and his Devil Fruit they said that the users, “are only limited by their imagination“.
The greater the imagination, and the creativity, the greater the strength. But in what way? How to bend your body better? I doubt it…
The freedom of the mind means that he can imagine himself flying and he would find himself in the sky or say “Room” and poof! he steals Trafalgar Law’s power.
Or if he desired to be bigger, he could turn into a giant like Elbaf.
Luffy just doesn’t know how to use the power he possesses yet. He awakened thanks to Kaido, now off to the next great challenge.
But if we think about it, who is actually capable enough right now to put LUFFY in such a desperate enough situation that makes LUFFY break his new limits?
Big Mom? Blackbeard? Im Sama? I don’t think so, the one I had in mind was (drum roll please!!)… SHANKS.
Just imagine how strong Luffy will become if that theory turns out to be true. That will become the most epic power in the anime universe! An event that will make history! I already have goosebumps all over my body just thinking about it.
That made me think of something. Why did the Hito Hito no Mi give Luffy the properties of Rubber? Was it maybe because of Luffy’s mental state, some deep desire, some buried thought that made the Fruit take that form since it might be powered by imagination?

YO YO YO, WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!!! Did you realize what all this is pointing to? As things are going, the ultimate challenge, it’s gonna be Shanks! But why would Luffy ever fight Shanks? Unless, Shanks turns out to be not what we believed he was, what if he turns out to be the mastermind pulling the strings behind the curtain?
Guys, what if Shanks might actually turn out to be a VILLAIN! How crazy is that!
Just think about it, every step he ever took is just way too fishy. That arm he lost, was on purpose. Did you really believe that a fish would have bested the man with the strongest Haki in the world?
He could’ve killed the beast with his eyes closed, save Luffy, and not broken a sweat. So why all the drama?
To make his protege indebted to him? To push him to take the course of action he desired. Was he trying to manipulate him?
What if after Luffy ate the Devil Fruit and became Joy Boy, Shanks realized something, that Shanks couldn’t get the one piece without Luffy?
Right after Luffy awakened his Gear 5, Shanks made one of his rare appearances in the series saying” It’s time to claim the One Piece”. Chapter 1054
Maybe everything Shanks did was for his own benefit and if that’s the case, that means that when Luffy and Shanks stop seeing eye to eye, they will eventually turn on each other.
