Romance and ships! Although it’s not part of Naruto’s genre, the romance was something that fans like us have been waiting to see come to its conclusion. As a kid, it was fun to watch the one-sided love between Hinata to Naruto to Sakura to Sasuke. It was just teasing and didn’t really promise any romance from the start.

And even in the story progression, the romance wasn’t even part of the sub-text. It actually makes sense to a shounen story that focuses on action and drama. However, Kishimoto didn’t leave us hanging.
The final chapters of Naruto Shippuden gave us the siren of the ship as it prepares to sail. Naruto marrying Hinata, Shikamaru and Tenmari dating, and Sasuke and Sakura reuniting! It’s a fitting ending for the story that we grew up with.
And now that the Boruto series continues the legacy of the Naruto franchise, we saw the new generation, who are children of the character we all loved. However, in this blog we will focus on the Kunoichi of Team Guy, the ninja who specializes in weapons and Fūinjutsu.
This beautiful and skilled ninja is no other than, TENTEN!

IS TENTEN MARRIED IN NARUTO?
Tenten’s romantic life
In the current Boruto series, both in the anime and manga, there hasn’t been a sign of Tenten having any romantic involvement with any characters. Meaning to say Tenten is still single, I don’t know if she’s ready to mingle though?
It seems that she and Shino are the only characters from the batch of Naruto who have yet to reveal their relationship status. So maybe there’s a spark for them?
Although there’s still Rock Lee and Gaara who’s relationship life remains a mystery ( makes me anxious at night), the two already have a child that they raised with. Most of the members like Choji are married, and there’s Kiba who has a girlfriend named Tamaki (A girl with a crush on Sasuke from the early episode of Naruto that you might not have remembered).
The chances of Tenten engaging in marriage are quite slim at the moment, as there hasn’t been any hints of it. Maybe a romantic relationship could be a good start? But it’s hard to predict who it would be. So why not let’s go each character from their batch and let us see who matches for each other!

Rock Lee and Tenten
Even though the chances are quite low, I think this is the ship that makes more sense given that they belong within the same team and had been together as a group for a long time. There are fans who ship them both which begs me to wonder, why Kishimoto lit the romance between the two?
We also know that Tenten admires Lee, as it has been revealed in the manga and anime. As the Neji and Tenten ship sank due to Neji boy’s death, the attention was pointed towards Lee. I remembered that when Neji died, the first sign that Tenten did was to comfort Lee.
She knows the rivalry between the two and therefore we are fully aware of how Neji’s death would devastate Lee. But to some of the fans, it’s a speculation that prioritizing the feelings of Lee is a hint that maybe Tenten has things for him.
There’s also a theory about who Metal Lee’s mom is? And I myself had always convinced myself that it was Tenten before finding out the truth that there was official fact to back it up. I mean just look at the similarities between the two!
Why can’t Kishimoto just say it? Give us the answer that we need!
There isn’t really a reason for the two to hide the relationship, therefore it is safe to say that Metal isn’t Tenten son. Therefore it makes the Rock Lee and Tenten relationship to be inconclusive.

Shino and Tenten
If two people are single, then why not take a cruise? But to be honest, I’m not really fond of this romance, nor has it ever crossed my mind. But there are few fans who ship them, simply because of the fact that the two are still single.
However, there’s no proof of it nor any sign of romance. But we can say that these two are on good terms. Although it bothers me how Shino is still single despite the fact that he is good with kids.
The Tenten and Neji ship
The Boruto series isn’t far from over, which is why the possibility for Tenten to have a relationship remains. However, there isn’t a sign about it, even though supporting girls like Inou and Choji ended up with someone. But there’s no need to pressure the writer, maybe it’s all done with purpose.
Happiness isn’t limited in romantic relationships; you live a happy life by being single!
But for me, my speculation is that Tenten remains single because she had enough with romance, the death of Neji devastated her and it strongly hinted that she had feelings towards Neji.
Rather than focusing on love, Tenten decided to focus on her career. Currently she owns a tool shop, and maybe she wanted to pour her time and energy into her passion into collecting weapons.
It’s quite sad that Neji died, the two would have been perfect for each other. Out of three on Team Guy, it was Neji and Tenten who are always shown to be with each other’s company. A lot of fans shipped them both, and were devastated when Neji died.
The two are training partners and care for each other. You can clearly see it through Neji’s eyes that he keeps an eye for her. Neji is aware of Tenten’s limits especially in fights as well as her mood.
Another notable clue is how Neji helped Tenten overcome her depression as stated in his diary in the light novel, titled Naruto Retsuden. The two look out for each other and bring the best out of them.
A lot of hints regarding their relationship but at the end of the day it’s all past. The two might have married and have kids, or maybe they remained as friends. But these are all just what if. It’s quite sad to lose someone close to you.
But it’s a motivation to keep going, proceed on chasing your dreams and the things you desire, because that’s what they also wanted for you.
Right now, let’s be happy for Tenten, single and focus on her passion!
Conclusion
The Boruto series is still ongoing, there could be twists and surprises in the future. All we can do is sit tight and wait for the next chapter, or the next episode that isn’t a filler. But until then, we can come up with theories and speculation of our own.
