K-On! Story

k-on

Yui Hirasawa is a first-year student. She is confused about what club she would join and stumbled upon the Light Music Club. Misinterpreting the club as a music club that plays simple and easy to use instruments, not guitars or drums! Embarrassed, she apologizes and quits the club.

However, this was unacceptable to the remaining club members as they were facing disbandment due to the lack of club members. They have bribed and offered Yui a lot of things just so she won’t leave- yet she still declined.

But what changed her mind entirely was when the club members played her a piece. With that piece, something lit up inside her. So she takes up a guitar and becomes the club’s Guitarist and Vocalist

This starts the beginning of their musical journey as a band!

Characters

Yui Hirasawa

Yui Hirasawa

The main character of the series. She is the band’s guitarist and vocalist. She accidentally joined the light music club thinking they would be playing easy music. Although she wanted to quit, she was convinced not to! Lucky for the band, Yui has perfect pitch and is musically gifted!

She goes against the norms of female main character tropes with her fearless demeanor. She’s also fond of giving people hugs or holding someone’s hand. She can be an air-head while she marches on her own beat. She would trust her intuition rather than read manuals. Daring, I must say

Mio Akiyama

Mio Akiyama

One of the main characters of the series. She is the band’s writer, bassist, and second vocalist! A kind and warm person despite the fact that she is shy and sensitive. She easily connects to people with her empathy and comfort she brings.

She can be quite shy and timid, even so, she serves as a voice of reason when their group is too chaotic.

Even if she can be rigid and by the book, she learns to loosen up as the series goes on.

Ritsu Tainaka

Ritsu Tainaka

One of the main characters of the series. She is the club’s self-appointed leader and the band’s drummer. She is a ball of energy that keeps the band running with her encouragement and jokes!

She has this carefree personality that makes it difficult for her to remember important announcements, thus her friend Mio always reminds her. As the club’s president, she finds ways to collect funds for the club… albeit underhanded means.

Tsumugi Kotobuki

Tsumugi Kotobuki

One of the main characters of the series. She is the club’s rich girl, pianist, and musical composer. She is sweet and gentle… and she brings sweets, much to the excitement of Yui!

She is considered as a piano prodigy as she had played and practiced ever since she was young. She has also won many piano recital contests.

She might look frail and gentle, but she has this physical strength that would shock you!

Azusa Nakano

Azusa Nakano 1

One of the main characters of the series. She served as the band’s second guitarist and the new president when all of the senior members had graduated. Behind her timid and shy personality is a talent and prowess with the guitar.

Ever since she was young she had been exposed to jazz music and learned how to play guitar. At first, she was disappointed with the lazy behavior of the club but soon got used to it.

She has been so attached to her senior members that she begged them not to graduate until she graduates with them. Selfish, yet so innocent.
