It seems that there’s a lot of misconception and misinformation on the internet about Android Characters! First of all, let us clarify that the Androids like 17 and 18 in Dragon Ball Z are not ANDROIDS AT ALL! Despite Akira Toriyama’s confusing naming, the fact speaks for itself, and that those Android are Cyborg!
Table of Contents
There is a fine difference between Androids and Cyborgs! And those people who say that they are the same will be thrown out of our ship XD. Jokes aside, androids are robots in the first place! They are designed to look like a human, while cyborg is a human who has robotic features that enhance their powers and capabilities.
Therefore, Android characters may look human but they are not. Thus, today we’ll be talking about the best ANDROID CHARACTERS IN ANIME! Who could they be? Do you know any android characters?
Welcome to our store! I’m the merchant, here to offer you the best Android for you to choose! This is not rank, so it’s up to you to see who is the best Android! Whatever you pick, there will be no refund, okay?

In the Dragon Ball Z anime, the eight saga of the anime features the Androids who cause chaos in their world. Just like what I’ve said, those guys weren’t androids at all! Except for the one and only Android 16, who is known to be an incomplete android!
The first android I would like to introduce is mohawk style dude, was the sixteenth android creation by Dr.Gero who designed it as out of vendetta against Goku. 16, is notable for his height as he is the tallest among the “Androids” in the Dragon Ball franchise.
The dude is notable for his red orange mohawk along with the style of golden hoop earrings. He was based on Gevo, or Dr.Geno son. 16 looks calm and friendly, despite the intimidating size, his monologue way of speaking and just the aura he has!
If you need a bodyguard! Then Android 16 is perfect for you. He is like the iron giant who is protective and values friendship. He is willing to sacrifice his life for you, how sweet is that?

She is a bit reserved, and her being an android causes insecurity within her. Nano is kind and motherlike towards Hakase and Sakamoto. She’s a shy character that is quite oblivious to being a robot, and acts just like a normal girl!
There’s also a lot of capabilities that she has that even herself is not aware about. One of things that will catch you off guard is that she can explode if she gets tripped. So you better watch her carefully.
If you have food, then she is a dispenser that can give you roll cake in her left arm and sweet bun in her forehead. Free food anyone? Done to our last five? Do you already pick an android?
I think this is the most powerful Android in the list! She was invented by a student who is a mechanical genius. She is an android who is walking in the road of self-identity towards herself and humanity.
She does maid duties, and is kind to people around her. She also would stray animals, and can be seen taking care of stray cats. Because of her helpful personality she is popular with kids who are aware that she is a robot.
But unlike conventional androids, Chachamaru is different in a way that magic was present when creating her. She also has a different body to use, she can be a teenager, 10 years old and an adult.
But we all know there is only one right choice, right? Right?
Anyways she is a strong combat, that can fire an orbital strike. She can fly in the sky, and is an expert in hand-to-hand combat. She can hack any computer, and use different cat-themed weapons!

She is an android that is intelligent and loyal to the master or superiors. Her kindness, reach and empathy are commendable. She sees good in people!
She can fight well, but it’s the second option since Mira is the type of android who will resort first on peace talks.

There’s only one best type android! AND THAT IS AN ANGELOID!
Just one look at Ikaros and you will feel heaven! Angeloids are known to be hybrid machines, a mixture of angel and android! In the anime, they were created to serve as masters of Synapse.
Our Angeloid is a submissive girl who prefers peace unless her master is in danger. She has a melancholic personality as well. If you have Ikaros, then you have a loyal companion, she has the innocence and lack of emotion but, there’s development along the way.
Her emotional capacity is low; it needs time and exposure for her to understand and experience emotion. Just in case you are not convinced yet, Ikaros has a fine body! Take her to the beach and you’ll see what I mean.
The pinked haired character with an emerald eye color is an interesting android. Someone who lacks emotion, but eventually will develop feelings for her master. Given that you are a good one of course!

What about a MAIDROID? A maid android in your house sounds interesting right?
Tama is an android, originally known as No.0. She was created by Professor Hayashi, and like most all androids, she was built as a companion, though specifically for Dr Hayashi’s sick daughter. She has a special element known as a seed that focuses on implanting the memory of his daughter into Tama’s personality data.
Sadly, there’s a failure that occurred during his attempt which eventually led to the death of his own child. However, the process was able to retain the memories of the daughter which granted Tama to have a human emotion. Fun fact tho, Tama was a name given by Kaguro, because of her obsession towards Tamago Gohan.
Tama is the green hair character with dark red eyes. Compared to other androids, she already has the human emotion, however, she still lacks in terms of knowledge towards outside world information. This is also due to the fact that she lost her memories when she was first introduced in the anime.
But with all positivity, Tama is learning! She is a kind android who wants to be useful! She has self-awareness of being a machine and therefore she wanted to serve her purpose as a machine. She is likable because she is sweet and cherry if you ever feel down.
She has empathy and loves listening to people’s problems. She makes a good therapist with her advice. What I also love about she sees everyone around her. Whether you are a robot or a human, you are irreplicable.
Overall, Tama is a loyal and loveable Maidroid! She has everything you need as a companion. Did I forget to mention that she can fight? And can cook by putting the ingredients inside her body as she vomits it out serving it in your plate to dine in? What a Gintama GAG HAHAHA!

Make way to the girl who sings! Open your ears and listen to Diva with a melancholic voice! She is known to be the first autonomous human-like AI in the anime. She is a singer who wants everyone to hear her voice.
She is just an angel with porcelain skin and an azure hair. Her main goal is to make everyone happy through singing. Vivy is hardworking and desires to fulfill her mission! She is an interesting character I would say, and her storyline is just amazing!
I don’t want to spoil much about her, but this is a 10/10 anime to watch. But trust me, she is a good pick!
