Oh! Look, it’s the Mayonnaise kingdom over here. (If you know you know) Do you ever look at some anime characters and think that you relate to them a little too much? I mean, if you’re addicted to Mayonnaise, you’re definitely Hijikata Toushirou. I mean, I consider myself addicted to it, so I’m probably Hijikata. 

Gintama is a really cool anime about samurai. Its overpowered swordsman MC will literally win your heart in a second. The story tells us about a jack of all trades, Gintoki, a samurai who hates the rules set by the attackers. He also has a gang that’s ready to do anything for money. So, wherever our swordsmen go, they cause trouble. It’s a comedy yet action-packed anime that you all need to watch.

Gintoki Sakata

Gintoki Sakata is one of our main heroes in Gintama. He’s a swordsman who absolutely hates the invaders and their way of ruling. Gintoki is known to be a jack of all trades. He runs his own business, called Yorozuya. Gintoki is able to take any of the jobs available, and since he’s a jack of all trades, he’s able to do anything. Imagine being him, you won’t have to be worried about “how to do things.” 

As far as his personality is concerned, he’s quite lazy, but due to his laziness, he sometimes devises lazy solutions for things that are actually really smart. If you got Gintoki on the quiz, you might look like a laid-back person, but you’re talented and smart. Just like Gintoki, you value connections more than anything in this world. If you don’t vibe with someone, you stop connecting with them. 

Gintoki loves alcohol and pretty women. HAHA! Well, at one moment, he might act like a very dumb person, and at the very next second, he can smash anybody that comes in his way. You can say that he just acts depending on his mood. Isn’t that right?

Gintoki often hides his true emotions. He doesn’t really like burdening other people with his sadness. Whenever he’s unable to protect his loved ones, he gets sad. The trauma keeps haunting him. Gintoki believes that he could’ve done better to save the people close to him. However, he’s still willing to go to great lengths in order to save his friends’ lives. If you’ve watched Gintama, you probably know how he’s so scared of ghosts, right? That side of Gintoki is truly adorable. 

Despite all the strength that he holds, he’s still a child, in a man’s body. I mean, he literally calls himself that. Gintoki often acts like a child, and his weakness is sweets. Eating so many sweets might put him at the risk of getting diabetes. Somebody stop Gintoki! 

Kagura 

Kagura is also one of the main characters in Gintama. She’s the daughter of Umibouzu, who is also known as an alien hunter. Kagura is known to be very naive ever since she got tricked by a gang. Even though she belongs to such a high legacy,she wants to live as a normal girl. Despite her hate for violence, she uses it to solve her own problems. Everyone calls her a “China Girl”. Kagura is quite stingy about what other people think of her. She does have a sharp tongue, but she is still afraid to speak her mind. 

If you got Kagura, you want to be tough, but you still have your soft side bothering you. You like to take care of yourself, and you actually care a lot about what people have to say about you. Like Kagura, you love munching on rice and you have a big appetite.

Yes! That’s right! Isn’t that a total waifu personality? Some of us actually love having a tsundere by our sides. If you aren’t familiar with this term, it means someone who keeps switching their personality from cold to warm and warm to cold. 

Kagura is quite strong considering the fact that she possesses natural fighting abilities, where she can actually rely her instincts to fight the opponents. She also has a very scary mode a.k.a.“Yato mode,” where she transforms into a monster. Sounds pretty scary, right? The fun fact about her is that she’s very embarrassed of her father. She doesn’t like to be with him since he’s bald. She dreams of travelling with him when she becomes one of the best alien hunters. 

Katsura Kotaro 

Katsura Kotaro is a fugitive. Many people are after him. One of his abilities includes escaping from penitentiaries and explosives. Isn’t that cool? As for his personality, he’s very dumb. He lacks common sense, but he’s also known to be a talented genius. Usually, dumb people turn out to be the genius ones. 

It would be hard for you to believe that he’s respected by his group at a high level. Yes, Katsura is a great leader. Ever since his parents died, he started protecting himself and roamed the streets all by himself too. His grandmother told him a very wise thing, which was, “No matter how strong a warrior may be, if he dies, he wouldn’t be able to protect his country or anyone at all.” She just wanted Katsura to survive. 

If you got Katsura Kotaro, you’re able to make the sounds of many things from your mouth. You’re quite persistent when you have a purpose or goal.

Toshiro Hijikata

Oh! Look! It’s the guy who loves mayonnaise. But guess what else he is? He works as a vice-commander for Shinsengumi, a special police force. Toshiro Hijikata is a highly efficient officer with a great sense of duty. Toshiro Hijikata has always been an outsider, as he was hated by all of his family members. He’s different from all of them. In fact, he never took that to heart. Hijikata worked super hard to become stronger and stronger. The fact that he was unable to protect his brother, haunts him. He regrets that incident a lot.  

If you got Hijikata on the quiz, you’re dutiful. You never abandon your duties and make sure to fulfill them. You don’t care if someone doesn’t believe in you. You keep going and made sure that you achieve your goals

Let’s talk about his obsession with mayonnaise now. Toshiro Hijikata loves mayonnaise to the extent of dipping everything in a ridiculous amount of mayo. Isn’t that hilarious? Or do you relate to him? He’s also a chain smoker who even went to greater lengths just to get his smoking habits fixed. Once Hijikata is obsessed with something, it’s hard for him to break through the obsession. That’s definitely his biggest weakness. 

Takasugi Shinsuke 

Takasugi Shinsuke is one of the main antagonists in the anime. Takasugi is known for his brutal wish to destroy the whole world. He has endless charms and all of his soldiers trust him a lot. He is unstable and a bit deranged too, but he looks so good. He refuses anybody’s idea of changing the world. What he truly wants is to destroy the world. His cold demeanour is truly frightening. 

He is also a bitter person. All this bitterness comes from the loss of his mentor, Yoshida Shouyou His teacher died, and that’s why he wants to avenge his teacher’s death. If you got Takasugi Shinsuke on the quiz, you’re different from everyone around you and you don’t like the idea of making peace. You like to clear out before getting involved in them. 

 Shinpachi Shimura 

Shinpachi is one of the main characters. He’s a samurai who often says idiotic things. He’s adorable but also an idiot. Shinpachi gets teased by Gintoki a lot. He has an attachment towards his sister, and that’s why Yagyuu Kyuubei often calls him “sister complex”.
