When it comes to the fantasy-comedy genre, The Familiar Of Zero should be included! It’s a fantastical-comedy anime which tells us about a mage named Louise De La Vallière. I know you guys probably twisted your tongue while pronouncing that fancy name. Well, we have a female MC in this anime and I will tell you about the details of the plot later. First, let’s find out whether or not this anime has filler episodes!

PLOT

As I’ve mentioned before, our Main Character is a female with a very fancy name. Louise De La Vallière. She’s a mage studying at Tristain Academy of Magic. Since she’s not that good with magic and stuff, she mostly faces defeat. Now, one of her upcoming tests requires her to call upon a spirit just to prove that she’s a mage. 

In the fantasy world of Halkeginia, our MC has to cast a spell as instructed by her teacher. However, she always causes some type of disaster while performing or casting the spell. Her teacher asked her to turn the stone into brass. When she tried doing that, her spell caused the whole room to explode! BOOM! Imagine blowing up your classroom. (I mean some of us might want that at times, no?) 

Moving on, Louise is known to come from a very famous magical family but she just messes up every time casting the spells. One day, all of her family members were summoning something, for instance, Kirche calls upon a fire salamander and someone else summons Verdandi.

Now, our MC is confused and is wondering how she would summon something? When she tries to summon, a human being appears! So, yes she basically summoned a human being named Saito Hiraga from Tokyo. He couldn’t get what Louise was talking about. Of course, I mean imagine getting summoned to a magic world and seeing all those creatures! 

Since Louise has no other option than to prove her strength/spells, she decides to make a contract with that human being. She did make a contract with him by kissing him. After a while, she does a “silence” spell on Saito which causes him to understand her fantastical language. Saito, on the other hand, thinks that he’s been kidnapped. However, he sees two moons up in the sky causing him to believe that he’s definitely in another world. 

As the story proceeds, Saito must get used to living in this world. Since he was summoned by Louise, he has to do what she tells him. Therefore, he dresses Louise and then gets only bread for his breakfast. On the breakfast table, he meets a very kind lady named Siesta. She’s a maid at Louise’s place.

Saito, being a gentleman, mocks the noble people for their two-timing character. For being super expressive in that matter, he gets mocked by Guiche. Since he’s in another world, he has to face different and difficult circumstances. Saito then gets trapped into a duel. 

Saito got a mark on his hand after he made the contract with Louise. And just as he’s about to fight, the mark on his hand begins to glow! Guiche gives him a sword and tests out his abilities. Without knowing his own strength after being handed the sword, Saito easily defeated Guiche. Like, WHOA! Saito got stronger after making the contract and also adapted to living in another world so quickly! Isn’t that right? 

Now, after defeating Guiche, everyone’s talking about him and he’s become quite popular as well! Siesta and other such people start to call Saito as “Our Sword”. Saito is too busy figuring something out. He finally figures out why everyone calls Louise “Zero” *sad noises*. Anyways, after a while, many other awkward situations occur where Kirche tries to trap Saito through her beauty in a devious plan! Her plan fails when Louise finds out about her true intentions.

MAIN CHARACTERS

Louis De La Vallière

Louis De La Vallière is one of the main characters in this series that goes by the name of “Zero”. She’s known as Zero because of her inability to use magic. That’s why everyone looks down on her and considers her a weakling. She’s the girl who summoned a human being named Saito from Tokyo, Japan. Her single kiss made him super strong! 

Louise is the third youngest daughter belonging to the family of Sandorion De La Vallière. She doesn’t really get along with her elder sister named Elèonora. We see her frequently fighting with her as well. There are a lot of bittersweet scenes between these sisters which I consider very cute. She also became the Crown Princess of the Kingdom. 

At her magic academy, she rivals Kirche. Even their families are rivals of one another. There are always two families that never get along. Isn’t that right? Now, let me tell you what our MC looks like. Well, she’s got long curly hair that is colored pink! So, if any of you love the color pink, I’m sure you’re going to have a crush on our MC as well! She does resemble her siblings and is very small. I mean look at her! Doesn’t she look small? It feels like she can fit in the palm of my hand. 

Louise is the type of girl who doesn’t like it when things don’t go the way she wants them to. For instance, she wanted to summon a familiar spirit like her siblings e.g, a giraffe or something else. But when she noticed that she called upon a human being, she started to hate it! HAHA! She’s cute. She gets angry easily and can get disappointed real quick as well! So, that’s a little information about our female MC. Now, let’s find out who this Saito guy is, shall we? 

Hiraga Saito 

Hiraga Saito is the human being that was summoned by our female MC, Louise. He’s from earth who’s now trapped in another world. I feel you bro! He’s an average heighted guy with blue eyes and is mostly wearing his jacket with a collared shirt. He also wears black jeans. I must say, he looks kind of attractive, no? Is it just me? 

Anyways, let’s talk a bit about his personality. He’s considered to be average in everything on his planet Earth. However, after reincarnating or being summoned into this world, he got many other skills including swordsmanship and what not! All these skills are a result of Louise’s kiss. Ma’am, I need some skills as well! (LOL) 

Kirche Von Zerbst 

Kirche Von Zerbst is the character that shows up several times in the anime and she’s one of the rivals of our MC. Therefore, she must be included in the category of Main Characters. She’s a tall woman with a big chest and has brown-gold eyes. She’s got a very flirty personality and she tries her best to get other people’s attention even if it causes her to do crazy things at times!
