It’s a relatively new manhwa that came out in 2021 and is still ongoing. Currently, it has only 26 chapters. This manhwa gained popularity pretty quickly and fans are loving it with all their heart. It’s the kind of manhwa that will definitely get adapted into a K-drama (DO IT ALREADY!).

Manager Kim Storyline

If you haven’t read Manager Kim, let us give you a bit of context here. Manager Kim tells us a story of a man named Mr Kim who lived alone with his daughter. He worked as a Manager in a company and used to be a former Black-ops member since he once was a part of the ROK Special Forces. However, he had to change his personality entirely when he became a manager at a company. He became more compliant and obedient as he was constantly watched over by the Government.

Furthermore, his beloved daughter, Minji Kim, disappeared one day out of nowhere. He started thinking about all sorts of things as to what could happen to his daughter. That incident woke up the old Mr Kim. He became absolutely merciless and ruthless. He sets out on his mission to rescue his daughter. He even decided to kill anyone who comes in his way in  finding her.  Will he be able to rescue his daughter when he has zero information about her whereabouts?

16. Estancia

This manhwa introduces us to the city of Sakia which is known as the “City of Purification”. Twice a month, there is a train that arrives in this city that carries a bunch of criminals. The criminals have their memories erased and they consider themselves as immigrants while staying there. They remember only one thing—Estancia. They want to go to Estancia but they can’t leave the city of Sakia. It’s forbidden. However, they can escape through a train that leaves the city of Sakia every single day. Is it a ray of hope for all the ex-convicts who want to reach Estancia and reveal the secret behind it?

15. Dr Brain

Lee Sewon is our protagonist in this manhwa. He’s obsessed with neurosciences and has a vast knowledge about it. After a series of experiments, Lee Sewon is now able to hack the brains of dead people and can extract memories from them. Soon, Lee Sewon is approached by a private detective who needs his help in order to solve crimes. Lee Sewon happily agrees and decides to help him. However, Lee Sewon is not aware of the dangers waiting for him ahead. He doesn’t know what he has gotten himself into.  

14. To Not Die

To Not Die focuses more on the side of bullying. It tells us the story of Dajun who gets bullied at school every single day. He’s tired to the point that he wants to take his own life. However, he realizes that he does not deserve to die yet. He decides to start defending himself from the bullies. But wait, are the school bullies his only enemies?

13. An Uncomfortable Truth

This manhwa has a lot of suspense just like how it’s in Manager Kim. The story introduces us to Yoseob, a young and timid guy who mostly stays quiet. However, we find him inside a police station, convicted. Apparently, he’s accused of stabbing 8 innocent civilians. It’s hard for everyone to believe that  Yoseob could ever do that. They believe he can’t even hurt a fly. However, one thing about Yoseob is very strange and disturbing. He has an unhealthy obsession with his elder brother and loves him a lot. Does his unhealthy obsession with his elder brother have to do something with all the killing? 

12. Immortal Days

Immortal Days takes us to the time where humanity had been successful in defying death. They have become immortal. As they can’t die, they can do whatever they want. This has resulted in violence and chaos. Our protagonist, Myeol, is leading a careful life. He has trained himself in order to survive. You must be asking yourself why he even needs to survive? Isn’t he immortal just like the rest of the people? The answer is no. He’s a mortal. That’s why he has to be careful. He soon gets involved with Phill who is a thug. That’s when his life changes entirely and his training comes in handy. 

11. Mnemosyne

Mnemosyne introduces us to Calliope, a high school student who lost all her memories when her bus got into an accident. She got critically injured and was taken somewhere she was not familiar with. She could not remember what happened to her nor could she remember those around her. However, there was only one thing that she remembered- Brantley Pharmaceuticals. They’re the best in technology and also claim that they can give eternal life. Also, Calliope is in their facility. They start experimenting on her and her memories slowly start getting back to her. She wants to get away from the facility desperately and wants to go back to being a normal high school student. 

10. Unmelting Words

This manhwa tells us the story of a policewoman named Nohee. There is an interesting fact about her that no matter what happens, she can’t lie. We’re introduced to a Criminal named Yeonho who can make anyone do anything while speaking to them. Nohee gets involved with Yeonho and things get messy. Apparently, Yeonho is suspected of murdering his adoptive parents. Yeonho needs Nohee’s help in order to let people know about his ability. He deosn’t want to kill people but his deadly ability makes him do so. Will Nohee trust him and help him with his goal of not being called a murderer?

9. Fried Chicken

Now, this manhwa is extremely bizarre. We get to see a strange machine that turns people into fried chicken (Yes, fried chicken!). There are so many mysteries and clues behind the phenomena of turning people into chicken. It also involves a lot of deaths and chaos.

8. Reckoning

This manhwa has a really interesting premise. Shihyun Lee doesn’t have much time in his world anymore,  but he can turn the tables—a way for him to live longer, and that includes killing someone. And that someone is not just an ordinary person. It’s the doppelganger of Lee Shihyun. Will he be able to kill another human just to save his skin?

7. Clone of Clone

Clone of Clone introduces us to the world after the nuclear war. People have started making clones of themselves. The clones they made were much more stronger and intelligent than the ordinary human beings. However, the clones must not forget their place and where they came from. 

6. Timeline (Hoduyongsa)

This manhwa is set in a very old era about three centuries ago. It involves the Full Moon of that time and the Full Moon of present time. That strange incident involved humans as well as gods.

5. The Ember Knight

The Ember Knight is a story of revenge. It introduces us to Nagyunn who seeks revenge from the murder of his twin brother, Najin. However, Nagyunn lacks fighting skills and is nowhere near the level of his twin brother. He decides to train hard in order to avenge his brother. Will he be able to do that while keeping his identity a secret? 

4. The Five Hearts

The Five Hearts tells us the story of Eun-ah, the only survivor from her family. Her family got brutally murdered. She was left with half of her lower body paralyzed. Now, there’s only one thing on her mind—evenge. She is adamant in finding and killing those who did her wrong. She requests a group of people, all in need of an organ transplant, to help her find the murderer. In return, she will give them her organs.

3. Killer Stall

Killer Stall resembles Manager Kim in various ways. The protagonists of both the manhwa are middle-aged men and they both have a dark past. Killer Stall introduces us to a middle-aged man who runs a restaurant. We see a bunch of teenagers trying to trick him. However, none of them know who that man really is. He had a really dark past and nobody in their sane mind would want to mess with him. Everyone knows him as a restaurant owner, a man who creates delicious food. But no one knows the real him. He’s much more than just a chef.

2. Inhale

We see Doyoung’s life changing completely when his beloved sister, Dohee, gets kidnapped. Fortunately,  he has a special ability that lets him track down the kidnappers of his sister. He finds out that they’re not ordinary humans and have supernatural powers just like him.

1. Mercenary Enrollment

This manhwa is quite popular amongst the masses and it really should be. The story is about a child named Ijin Yu who got lost in a foreign land after his plane crashed, following the death of his parents. He was forced to become a mercenary in order to survive in that land. Ten years later, Ijin returns to Korea to his remaining family and starts living a peaceful life. He got into high school but doesn’t know the way of the teenagers. However, other students also don’t know how lethal he used to be. Will he be able to get out of high school without causing any trouble?
