Fruits Basket has been one of the most interesting anime of all time. Its concept is quite unique and if you believe in astronomy and Chinese zodiac signs, this anime will help you learn a lot of things about yourself when you associate yourself with its characters.
However, what I had to tell you guys was that Fruits Basket is coming back with a movie that will tell us the summary of all of its three seasons. So, if you’re simply too lazy to watch three seasons of Fruits Basket, you can watch this movie! How cool is that?

If you haven’t watched Fruits Basket yet, you still have the chance to be able to say “I have watched it”. Let me tell you a bit about its plot. The story revolves around a girl named Tohru Honda who is an orphan girl. Through some circumstances, she meets the Soma Family. This family is cursed and each of them possess their specific Chinese Zodiac Sign. They are also cursed to turn into their specific Chinese Zodiac animal under stress, anger, and weak situations. Sounds interesting, eh? Now, let me tell you when it’s being released!

The release date of this anime is confirmed. It’s scheduled to be released on February 18th, 2022 in Japan. Are you excited to refresh your memories very soon? I’m very hyped up for its comeback.
The plot is amazing, the characters are very cute, even the animation is great. I’m sure you guys will enjoy watching this anime, especially if you have never watched it before. Now, let’s dig in a bit into the predicted plot!
Predicted Plot
Tohru Honda is a beautiful, kind, and generous girl who thought her life was running into a lot of bad luck. However, little did she know, she would be saved by the Soma Family. Her family tragedies forced her to live in a tent, nevertheless, she was found by two of the members of Soma Family.
She was offered to live with them. Since Tohru is very kind, she wanted to make up for her staying at their home. She worked in the house and then went to school with them. In fact, she became their family. As the story progresses, everything gets dark. Tohru found out a secret about their family. It turns out that the members of the Soma family are cursed.
Whenever they are in distress, weak, and in situations that make them angry, they tend to turn into the animal their zodiac possesses. For instance, Kyo’s Chinese zodiac was a cat, therefore, he turned into a cat during those situations.
Now, when she found out their secret, she decided to keep her mouth shut. She was definitely shocked by this whole scenario but couldn’t do anything except help them. Tohru was helpless and couldn’t have a home if it wasn’t for these family members.
So, that’s it for the plot. The movie will just let you know about what happened during Tohru’s stay at the Soma household. I’m sure people are excited about this movie! Now, let’s get a bit into the predicted cast! You will get to learn about the characters one by one.
Predicted cast
These are the characters that are predicted to appear in the movie, Fruits Basket. Take a closer look at them and make sure to remember them before watching the movie, it’ll be more fun that way. Anyways, let’s dig into it!
tohru honda
Tohru Honda is the main character in the anime, Fruits Basket. She’s the one and only daughter of Kyoko. Tohru is a very optimistic girl, therefore, she believes that all the good things and the bad things come to an end eventually. She loves doing housework, she’s a pro at doing chores.
She’s the sweetest character in the series and is quite dependable too. Although her mother’s death left deep scars on her, yet she doesn’t forget to smile. She makes sure everyone around her is cheered up. Tohru is the type of person who sees the good in everyone, she’s extremely hardworking too. She’s patient and believes in herself more than anybody else. We all need a friend like Tohru, don’t we?
Kyo Sohma
Kyo Sohma is also one of the main characters in the anime. He was adopted by Kazuma Sohma. Just like Tohru, he was taken by Kazuma after his mother’s death and abandonment from his own father.
Kyo is a cursed spirit of a cat. He turns into a cat whenever he’s very angry (which he is most of the time). In fact, whenever he hugs someone, he turns into a cat. He’s quite stubborn and short–tempered. He tends to get mad at things very easily.
Hatsuharu Sohma
Hatsuharu belongs to the Soma family too. He’s mostly known as Haru. His Chinese zodiac sign is the Ox. He’s just calm and composed, however, whenever he’s provoked, he gets quite angry. He has two types of personality, one is kind and the other is straight-forward.
Haru is quite good–looking and his punk-ish sense of clothing makes him quite charming. He’s very mature for someone his age and likes to take care of everything by himself. I’d say he’s very self-sufficient. You know what gets me weak? His charm, his height, and his clothing sense.
Yuki Sohma
Yuki Soma is also one of the main characters in the series. He’s known as the “Prince Charming”. He has the Chinese zodiac sign of the rat. He’s quite hideous but he’s a softy. He lives up to his title of Prince Charming, he’s kind, has a million charms, and literally everything to make you drool. I’m not even exaggerating, see for yourself!
Hatori Sohma
Hatori Sohma has the dragon Chinese zodiac sign. He has unusual abilities like erasing the memories of a person. For instance, if someone, by chance, discovers the secret of the Soma family, he erases their memory. Pretty easy, eh? You must be thinking, “Oh, I wish I had the same power”. He’s a rather quiet individual who seems to have many secrets. If you want to know more about him, do watch Fruits Basket.
Shigure Sohma
Shigure Soma has the dog Chinese zodiac sign. He’s portrayed as an easy-going, nice, and aloof person. He likes to have fun and he gives really good advice too. We all know all that glitter is not gold, right? So, don’t be too quick to judge, alright? There’s a lot more going on in this series than it seems. I won’t give any spoilers but, something might leave your mouth wide open in this series.
Ayame Sohma
Ayame Soma has the snake zodiac sign. He’s an extremely confident person. He doesn’t need reassurance from others and believes in himself. He just has one wish. He wishes to get along with Yuki. Since Yuki and him were separated when they were just children, he wants to make up for the time they have been away. I think it’s pretty sweet, isn’t it?
akito sohma
Let’s talk a bit about antagonists now, Akito Soma is the head of the Sohma family. She has the upper hand in the anime, she can manipulate others easily into her dirty tricks. She literally plays the role of god in the anime. She’s very short-tempered and anything can trigger this girl easily.
Aside from her bad side, she’s portrayed as a very sweet girl. We all know the nicer the antagonist is, the dirtier things tend to get.
Momiji Sohma
Momoji Soma has the rabbit zodiac sign. Behind his cheerful attitude, there lies a sad story. He lives all alone due to the rejection of his mother. However, he doesn’t make things get sad, with his smile, he can light up the whole world. He likes to stay positive about things and makes sure nobody’s feeling bad around him. We all need a friend like Momoji too. Isn’t that right?
