So before we get into the review and all the spicy stuff, first we gotta let you guys know what the TokyoTreat Box is. If you didn’t already know, Tokyo Treat Box is a snack box subscription where you get a monthly package of sweet snacks from, well…Japan! If you guessed it before you read it, congrats! You have now unlocked Common Sense.

The Tokyo Treat Box features an array of delicious munchies from Anime Snacks with Demon Slayer package, all the way to EXCLUSIVE Japanese Kitkats with unique flavors like Sake. Yes! Nothing better than getting drunk while eating a Kitkat. Just kidding, don’t drink, kids. Please don’t drink…

You know what’s better? They have a promo of only $31.5 for 12 months where you save $42 and you get a package each month! If I ain’t broke I would’ve bought that already. Bro, that Pokemon Choco Corn looks delicious, but I wished they had a Rengoku donut tho…If you know what I mean.

THE SAVORY REVIEW

Package

The packaging looked pretty organized and the orange color of the box really made it pop. There were a couple of goodies there instead of the snacks. They gave us Vol. 71 of the TokyoTreat brochure. How does that not scream Japan? What’s more Japanese than a brochure? Well, Mt. Fuji…I guess.

If you thought this was just any normal review, then you’re gonna be in for a ride. I’m not just gonna say KitKat good and Pudding bad, I’m gonna rank them. I’m gonna rate them based on POWER LEVELS! Praise me peasant!

So below this is by far, without a doubt, one of the best treats an Otaku can get.

17. Umaibo Cheese

I know some of you might not be into Cheese-flavored things but trust me, when everything around you seems dark and you can’t find the light, eat a bite of this and you’ll become a full-fledged lightbulb. The Umaibo cheese stick is what it is. It probably has the least flavor out of all those included in the package, but hey, at least you have Doraemon on the cover.

This is a quick snack and children will definitely love this. It has that satisfying crunch when you bite into it too. This may be at the bottom of the list but that doesn’t mean it isn’t good. Just bite and relax.

16. Spooky Water DIY Candy Kit

How does this not scream Halloween? But it has you thinking right? What does water have to do with a DIY Candy? How do you DIY Candy?  Well, this is where the interesting part happens.

INSTRUCTIONS

When you mix all the flavors in this kit, you’ll achieve a new taste that’ll directly send you to Valhalla. You’ll get a sugar rush so hard that you could probably run 5 miles before you pass out.

Anyway, see how I avoided answering the question of how to DIY Candy? That’s big brain moves there my boy. The Spooky Water DIY Candy Kit is definitely an interesting piece in this package. It gives some spice but however, it does not match the quality of the others on this list. Especially if you mess up in the process.

15. Halloween Pizza Snacks

Before I get into this snack, I have to ask the question of the millenia. Do you eat your pizza crust or not? If you don’t, you have to be put down, I’m sorry. The packaging really fits the theme of the Halloween TokyoTreat Box and it’s perfect if you wanna lay back and watch Anime.

The taste is well…pizza. Not too amazing and not too shabby. It’s right there in the middle with all the other movie-binging snacks. To be honest, it really is addicting when you get through the first five pieces. It’s a chill no-brainer snack that’s perfect for a quick munch. Because that’s just pizza, may it be American, Japanese, or Italian we’re all just oily pizza.

14. Mini Monster Fruit Candy

We’ve all had our fair share of Fruit Candy in our childhood but I gotta say, it hits different! I just wished it was shaped like a circle and had Mike Wazowski’s face and then it would’ve been number 1. All kidding aside, this is actually a good treat. It really suits that vibe where you just want to chew on something.

The Mini Monster Fruit Candy has a soft texture with a fruity and sour taste. The sourness is not too strong, so you could definitely eat this in public without feeling like your whole face is about to twist inside out. It is a very convenient snack but if you keep reading there are a lot more treats that’ll tickle your taste buds.

13. Mini Strawberry Milk Choco Balls

Heh! Balls…Who wouldn’t love to eat these sweet Mini Strawberry Milk Choco Balls. Not only is it tasty, but it has fortunes! For those that are on an unlucky streak, maybe this is the thing that’ll change your luck. I hope it does, I’ve been wanting to win that Jackpot on the Lottery since I was in my mother’s belly. Just look out, maybe there’s a chance you’ll get Isekai-d into a Light Novel with a really long title.

The taste is surprisingly savory. It’s perfect if you want to clean your palate with something sweet, and it doesn’t make you sick after a few bites like some chocolates with strong flavors. Needless to say, it doesn’t fully satisfy you because it will leave you wanting more.

12. Red and Black Magic Gum

Personally, I love Cola flavored things. Cola flavored gum, lollipop, and Cola flavored Coca-cola. The last one’s the best. The Red and Black Magic Gum has all your needs if you’re a Cola enthusiast like me. Just be careful tho we might achieve a new type of diabetes. Not only will this gum make you chew like there’s no tomorrow, it’ll also turn your tongue red and black.

You can finally fulfill your dreams of becoming The Cola yourself. Enough of the cola jokes, this is just a sweet gum that you’ll want to chew if you have nothing to do. The Red and Black Magic Gum is what you really call a treat. It’s just a really good gum.

11. Umaiwa Mentai Flavors

Your inner weeb should’ve screamed when you read the first word. And when you take a piece of these crunchies you’ll be shouting “Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru” at the top of your lungs.Umaiwa Mentai Flavors are a very light Japanese snack that just suits a treat while you’re working.

Umaiwa Mentai Flavors are basically Japanese Corn Chips and oh boy, do they pack a crunch! Throw out your Cheetos and just eat this instead. I just find it interesting how light this is. It’s not very heavy on the stomach and you can get through a pack or two easily.

10. Calpis Soda Grape

We’ve been talking about munchies, crunchies, and scrunchies all day, now let’s get into the slurpees. Okay, I gotta admit, I don’t drink grape flavored drinks a lot but this hits the spot nicely. You know why? Because it has that subtle milky flavor in it. I know you guys might be thinking how can Fizzy Milk taste good? But try this, maybe it’ll open a new horizon.

One suggestion I would make on this one is that it can maybe tone down the fizziness a bit but I guess it’s part of the identity of the drink. Another thing to note is that it might not be as light as the other entries here so you might have to limit yourself on this one. Overall, it’s a nice drink with a nice taste!

9. Pokemon Halloween Choco Corn

Pokemon and Halloween? What better combination is there? And it’s food too! The Pokemon Halloween Choco Corn probably has one of the best covers out of all the treats in the package. Not only is it great to look at? It’s also delicious. Beautiful inside and out. Sounds like NOT me. I’m angelic and you are too so keep reading!

Just like the Halloween Pizza Snacks the Pokemon Halloween Choco Corn is a great choice if you just want to lay back and watch a movie. You can even eat it while playing Pokemon Unite. Ehem, Pokemon, ehem, sponsor. Anyways, just eat it and enjoy the refreshing crunch of Pikachu’s chocolates.

8. Maple Butter Beer Ramune Candy

Quality Taste Packaging Power Level

If 7/11 has some Sake flavored KitKats then Tokyo Treat Box has Maple Butter Beer Ramune Candy.  For the kids out there, this isn’t real beer. It’s butter beer meaning that it’s safe to eat for people of all ages. The Maple Butter Beer Ramune Candy has this fizzy and rich flavor that just works. It’s sweet and savory too!

One other thing is that this snack is more for kids than adults because of the strong taste. But hey, if you have a sweet tooth then eat this all you want because this is definitely for you. This would be perfect for a date in the park, if you have someone to go with.

7. KitKat Apple Cinnamon

Quality Taste Packaging Power Level

It ain’t Japanese snacks if there’s no KitKat with a unique flavor. The KitKat Apple Cinnamon is surprisingly good actually. It’s not an acquired taste like Macha and the masses will definitely enjoy it. That smooth crunch when you bite into it is just so satisfying. Best of all its limited edition, so when Halloween ends, you’re not getting this anymore!

The KitKat Apple Cinnamon also has a bit of a kick into it. I mean, who doesn’t love KitKats? Especially if you search KitKat Anime Boys. Ooof, things are getting hot! This snack just suits the Halloween theme very well and what else can I say, it’s a KitKat.

6. Halloween New Mochi Taro

You know those Japanese guys that scream while pounding some white stuff with a wooden mallet? Well that was how they make Mochi but Mochi Taro is different. Mochi Taro is actually crunchy instead of chewy like Traditional Mochi. This snack is not sweet like the other entries, so this is definitely a go-to if you want to take a hike away from the sugar.

The Halloween New Mochi Taro has a light salty flavor in it which gave it this top spot since it stood out from the rest. After filling up your taste buds with sugar, it sure is refreshing to eat something with a new flavor. It doesn’t have the best packaging out of all the entries but hey, it sure is good.

5. Happy Halloween Fugashi

Quality Taste Packaging Power Level
19/20
9/10
8/10
36/40

Another light snack that made it to the top of the list, the Happy Halloween Fugashi is the same as the Mochi Taro where it’s a very good palate cleanser. It’s not chewy, crunchy, or hard to eat. The Happy Halloween Fugashi melts in your mouth like it was destined to marry your taste buds.

Remember that feeling when you just got into anime and fell in love with your first waifu? That’s the feeling I got after eating a ton of sweets and taking a break with this Halloween Fugashi. We’re in the top 5 boys and girls, this is where the Sigma treats come into action!

4. Holland Senbei

Quality Taste Packaging Power Level
19/20

9/10
37/40

The Holland Senbei is another light snack. Why do I put food with light flavors at the top of the list? Well, eating sweet things gets pretty boring really quickly. It’s like in a relationship, the love loses its flame when everything’s too over-the-top. So the Holland Senbel is probably the break you need.

Come on bro, it’s got two words that I don’t even understand, Holland and Senbei. I don’t know what they mean but it sounds cool, not gonna lie. The Holland Senbei is what Mochi should feel like. So this rice treat is all for you if you love Mochi as much as I do.

3. Full Moon Pon

38/40

I’m not even joking, the Full Moon Pon sounds like a breathing form in Demon Slayer. “Moon Breathing Seventh Form: Full Moon Pon!” I know you laughed, just admit I have a big brain. So why did this snack get to this spot? Well it has one of the most bizarre flavors in this list.

The Full Moon Pon is crunchy, salty, and has a soy sauce taste that packs a punch. I honestly was into it. The packaging was cute too! You got a little bunny there and some kanji. It’s minimalistic and good to look at.

2. Tongari Corn Halloween Butter Toast

Quality Taste Packaging Power Level

39/40

The Tongari Corn Halloween Butter Toast is the food equivalent of those Light Novels with really long names. We went back with the butter toast and I gotta admit, whatever they did, they did it right. It’s perfect for movie nights, a quick snack, or a date even.

This snack is just an all-rounder. The packaging looks good, it fits the theme very well, and there’s CORN written on it. Hey, if you’re searching for some magic, then this Halloween snack will teleport you to another world.

1. Pocky Crushed Strawberry

At number 1 we have the one, the only, Pocky Crushed Strawberry!!!! Pocky is always seen in anime bro. That thin stick that the cute anime waifu in glasses slowly bites into. Who doesn’t love those scenes? The Pocky Crushed Strawberry is just a classic. It’s light, savory, and you always can’t get enough of it.

What’s better than Strawberry and Chocolate? Of course when you turn them into Pocky sticks. I am in love with this snack and I think it is by far the best treat in this package. It really screams Japan and you know what? This is one snack I’d never let go of.
