With December finally being upon we can at long last say goodbye to this shit show of a year. While overall this year has been somewhere from terrible to apocalyptic, we did get a good amount of great shows and characters. Luckily for a large portion of the anime community, a good amount of those characters were top tier fall 2020 waifus.
With so many good waifus coming out in the past few months, why not talk about them. So we are going to count down the top 10 best waifus of Fall 2020. For this list, I have one rule, that any Waifu featured has to be in an anime that had at least one episode release during the Fall anime period. That being October, November and December and the waifu needs to appear in at least one episode that appeared during this season.
That being said let’s get to the best waifus of Fall 2020!

10. Noel Niihashi - Burn The Witch
Starting off our list of the best waifus for Fall 2020 is from a show that just started airing fairly recently. Burn The Witch, a spin-off of Bleach, started airing its first season on October 1st of this year. Noel is a student at the Blackstone Academy in London.
Noel is the kind to have a perpetually solemn expression on her face at all times. She also has a single, small white horn on the left side of her head. Noel is a fairly stoic young woman who reacts to most situations with a mixture of seriousness and deadpan observations.
9. Nene Alkastone - Our Last Crusade Or The Last Rise Of The New World
Our next fall 2020 waifu is Nene Alkastone from Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World. Despite the overly long and confusing name, it manages to produce some cool characters, Nene is one of those characters.
Nene isn’t just a pretty face and cheerful demeanr, she has her own skills. Nene is a field mechanic and has advanced education and knowledge of the technology used by the Heavenly Empire. Due to her expertise and knowledge, she is often entrusted to test new technology and weapons in the field.
8. Ryuu Lion - Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?
If this list was about cool best anime waifu names, then Ryuu Lion would be at the number one spot. Ryuu is the first of a few Fall 2020 waifus that come from Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? so get used to that title.
Despite her outfit leading most people to think that she would be some kind of forest ranger, Ryuu is actually a waitress. Ryuu is a female Elf with sky blue eyes and golden hair that gets dyed to green during the story. While she can be seen in her fan service maid outfit, for my money the adventurer/Robin Hood-style outfit is better.
7. Alice - Our Last Crusade Or The Last Rise Of The New World
Going back to the fall 2020 anime that has the worst title, but a solid amount of fall waifus. Alice, also known as Aliceliese Lou Nebulis IX, is the deuteragonist of the series. She is the second princess of the Nebulis Sovereignty and is known as the “Ice Calamity Witch” by the Empire.
While Alice is generally a calm and kind person, this changes when she gets into a fight. On the battlefield, Alice becomes a stone-cold killer. Who doesn’t want that, sweet on the street but mean when she needs to be.
6. Shimizu Kiyoko - Haikyu!!
All you Haikyu!! nerds probably saw this coming, and you might be mad that she isn’t number one. Well, what are you going to do, throw volleyballs at me? Haikyu!!’s best girl Shimizu Kiyoko is probably a decent part of why the show became so popular, at least to male audience members.
Kiyoko acts as one of the managers of the Karasuno High volleyball club and is generally very quiet. She’s not the kind to go out and let the world know how she feels but she is very passionate about her manager position and takes it very seriously.
5. Boa Hancock - One Piece
The Next waifu on our best waifu’s of fall 2020 is one that’s been around for a while. Boa Hancock has been a lot of fans top waifu for a while and I’m pretty sure you can see the two big reasons why. Other than those, there are some reasons that she stays in the minds of so many fans.
First off, she’s an empress, so she would be in charge, meaning that she’ll take care of you. She’s also from One Piece, so you know that she’s going to be goofy and weird, so you’ll always be entertained. All around this is a solid Waifu for fall 2020.
4. Tamaki Kotatsu - Fire Force
Fire Force is basically a waifu factory, so it makes sense that at least one of the girls would make it onto the best waifus of fall 2020 list. The number four spot on the list goes to Tamaki Kotatsu, the girl who men just can’t keep their hands off of.
On a serious note, don’t go around treating women like how Tamaki gets treat in the show in real life, seriously guys, ask first. Tamaki is a Third Generation Second Class Fire Soldier which means that fighting fire is in her blood practically. Despite being very loud and boastful, Tamaki is actually a pretty nice person and we all know what people say about getting a girl who can do both.
3. Ais Wallenstein - Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?
Returning back to the anime whose title can be answered by saying yes. Ais Wallenstein takes the 3rd place spot on our Fall 2020 waifu list. Ais Wallenstein, also known as the Sword Princess, is a First-Class Adventurer and a key member of the Loki Familia.
Don’t let her pretty looks deceive you, she is considered one of the strongest adventurers, even among the First-Class members. Even though she is so powerful, Unlike the rest of her family, she doesn’t look down on those who are weaker than her. Actually, most people see her as kind of an air head because she is generally very quiet. Powerful but humble, nice.
2. Hestia - Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?
For our last fall 2020 waifu from Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? we have the goddess Hestia. Hestia is an energetic girl to contrast is Ais’ more calm nature. Don’t get the feeling that just because she is nice that share doesn’t have her flaws though.
Hestia tends to be shown as very petty and gets jealous easily when girls show interest in the series main protagonist Bell. She was also kicked out of her friend group for being a lazy glutton who couldn’t get a job. Despite that, she is learning to be more mature and dependable, at least to those that she likes.
1. Mikasa Ackerman - Attack On Titan
You knew that it had to be her. People have been waiting for years for this fourth and final season of Attack on Titan and it’s released with a bang. Fans are hyped to see what happens and let’s be real, they want to see who dies. The only character that would cause fan outcry at their death at this point is just Mikasa.
Mikasa Ackerman is someone who fights with the hope of one day living a peaceful life. She is considered the best soldier in the 104th Training Corps and currently serves in the Survey Corps. I could say more but you probably already know that no one else deserves to be the best waifu of Fall 2020 than Mikasa Ackerman.

Both the anime share the concept of working wives and stay-at-home husbands who love pampering and spoiling their wives. And to be honest, there won’t be any working wife who wouldn’t like a clean house and some good food after a long day’s work! Love is like a Cocktail tells us the story of Chisato Mizusawa who works as an assistant office manager. She’s a calm and collected lady but has a secret that only she and her husband know. Apparently, she hates drinking, but deep down inside she loves it and that’s her secret! Although she appears all serious and tough, she has a cute side to her that she only reveals to her husband. Her husband is extremely affectionate towards her and spoils her with yummy food and different fresh drinks every night when she comes home from work. Her love for drinking alcohol is not more than her love for her husband. This anime shows the everyday life of the cutesy couple that everybody aspires to be like! 9. Tonikaku Kawaii/Fly Me To The Moon Another super-sweet anime with really funny moments, Fly me To the Moon and The Way of the Househusband share the same kind of husband-wife everyday life story. We can’t get over the way both the anime have portrayed the cute relationship between a husband and a wife. Though Tonikaku Kawaii has more cute moments and The Way of the househusband has more hilarious ones! Tonikaku kawaii revolves around a boy with a really peculiar name, Nasa Tsukasa, who encounters a gorgeous girl on the night when he takes a practice exam test. He tries to talk to her but unfortunately gets hit by the truck. She manages to save him somehow and leaves him there but he miraculously follows the girl, Tsukasa, to the bus station and confesses that he has fallen for her. Tsukasa suggests that if he marries her, she’d stay by his side forever. After that, Nasa becomes unconscious. When he turns 18, Nasa suddenly remembers his promise and somehow ends up at the doorstep of Tsukasa with a marriage form. They get married and their everyday life as a lovey-dovey couple begins! 8. Barakamon Though Barakamon and The Way of The Househusband are not similar when it comes to the “husband-wife” part, the comedic elements in both are quite similar and make us laugh at the most unexpected moments! Both include a set of very likable and cute characters that make us swoon over them, especially the MCs. The MCs are both intimidating when we look at them but very sweet when we get to know about them more. Though there are not a lot of characters in both the anime, we’re able to see the unique relationships the MCs have with all the characters around them. Barakamon is about a professional calligrapher, Seishu Handa, who moves to Goto Island after angrily punching an elderly curator of an exhibition after he criticizes him. He finds the village life very strange at first and finds the villagers very nosy. But soon he gets immersed in the fresh atmosphere and simple village life and is able to meet a lot of energetic people. He especially adores Naru who’s a 7-year old villager. She ticked him off A LOT at first but was able to make him adore her after showing him her cute and stupid side. If you’re a fan of short and refreshing anime, then you’re definitely going to love this one! 7. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K Although the MCs of both anime are not much similar, they share the same peculiar humor. The episodes of both the anime are also short and super-fun! The story of this anime revolves around a 16-year old typical high school student, Kusou Saiki, who has psychic powers (Not so typical!). He can know about what’s going on inside other people’s heads and control them accordingly. It’s a blessing and a curse at the same time for him! He had always kept his superpowers in check ever since he was a child. But now that he’s in high school, he can’t help but use his psychic powers on others. Though he despises unwanted attention, we see people around him constantly trying to get him out of his bubble and break his everyday routine! 6. Backstreet Girls: Gokudolls Both Backstreet Girls: Gokudolls and The Way of The Househusband share the same low-quality animation which makes them even funnier. The characters in this anime are also ex-yakuza just like our MC from the Way of The Househusband. We also come across a lot of ridiculously funny scenes in both anime, making them quite similar to each other. Featuring an interesting story, this anime is about three yakuza who fail their boss and are given a choice of either harvesting their organs or go through sex regeneration surgery and become female idols. Obviously choosing the latter, the three yakuza are born again as super-cute pop idols. Despite practicing being feminine, the three are able to retain some of their yakuza sides. Their boss doesn’t like that and hires them a new manager, Mandarin Kinoshita, who has never had a band that was not successful. Fugou Keiji: Balance Unlimited The MCs of both Fugou Keiji: Balance Unlimited and The Way of the Househusband are badass and that’s one common trait they both share! Hard from outside, soft from inside, both are quite intimidating but deep down, they’re extremely sweet around the people they love! Though, the comedic elements in Fugou Keiji: Balance Unlimited are nowhere near The Way of the Househusband, we’re still able to find a lot of common things between the two when we compare them! This anime is about an extremely rich man named Daisuke Kambe who ends up as a detective at the Modern Crime Prevention Headquarters. He’s paired up with another detective, Haru Katou, who’s very kind and puts justice above all. Both Daisuke and Haru are polar opposites of each other and do not get along very well. Haru hates how Daisuke tries to solve cases with the insane amount of money he has. But Daisuke doesn’t see any problem with that. By combining their intelligence and efforts and by compromising with each other’s personalities, the two will have to solve mysteries coming their way! 4. Detroit Metal City Detroit Metal City is a hilarious piece of work and just like The Way of the Househusband, it’s very short. The wacky animation makes it even funnier! Both Detroit Metal City and The Way of the Househusband share the same kind of setting. If you liked The Way of the Househusband, then you’d definitely like this one! The anime revolves around Soichi Negishi who’s a timid boy and wants to be a pop singer. But somehow he ends up in a Death Metal Band “Detroit Metal City” and as a lead singer! He goes by the stage name “Johannes Krauser II” who’s notorious for being demonic and claims to be ascended from the fiery pits of hell. Of course, all of that’s not true, he just wants the public to feel the fire while he’s performing. This alone makes it really funny! Soichi has to throw away his sweet and soft side when he’s on stage. His misadventures are hilarious as he tries to balance both his opposite lives as a normal college graduate and a death metal band member! 3. I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying We see the same kind of story in both the anime as both the MCs are stay-at-home-husbands with working wives. The two MCs also share being equally weird and crazy! This anime tells us a story of a shut-in Otaku who works as a blogger and his wife Kaoru, who’s a hard-working and diligent office lady who loves getting drunk. Both are opposite to each other but find their way towards loving each other regardless. Both are caught up in their everyday lives surrounded by colorful people who make the couple go through hilarious and baffling situations. They’re both willing to become even better for each other and change themselves for that! 2. Hinamatsuri Just like The Way of the Husband, Hinamatsuri is about a tough yakuza guy caught up in different domestic situations. Both the anime share the same kind of hilarious but short story that feels very refreshing to watch! Hinamatsuri is about a yakuza named Nitta whose life turns upside down when a girl, Hina, from the future, literally drops on his head out of nowhere and without warning! Hina has supernatural powers and can use them to get anything she wants. Now, Nitta sees her as a powerful tool for his yakuza business but also has a potential risk of her attacking him anytime she wants. Hina has to use her powers regularly or else she’ll go berserk and destroy everything in sight. Both end up living with each other and trying their best not to cause any unnecessary trouble. 1. Sakamoto Desu Ga? Sakamoto Desu Ga and The Way of the Househusband both feature the kind of MCs that are extremely intimidating when we first look at them. They’re the sweetest things ever when we get to know them more! Both the MCs are perfect in every way, be it looks, intelligence or skills. Both the anime share the same kind of hilarious setting and story that’ll make you laugh at the most unexpected moments. This anime revolves around a High School student named Sakamoto who’s perfect in every way possible. He’s handsome, smart, suave, sublime, we can use all the positive adjectives for him. He managed to get all the girls to fall for him and the guys burned with jealousy on his first day of High School. The story is about his peers trying to exceed his excellence but failing.
