Katekyo Hitman Reborn

Katekyo Hitman Reborn is a shounen anime is often dropped by the audience because the initial episodes are just plain bad. About 20-25 episodes are entirely forceful. There is no real plot until that time. After that, the show gets really good and personally, my favorite shounen anime to date. Our main character is just no good. He is the epitome of a loser. His life takes a twist when the mysterious hitman Reborn is sent to his home in order to make him a Mafia Boss. His mafia family is on the brink of retirement so a new boss is a necessity. He is reluctant about this idea but soon, things change. This show is packed with action and would highly recommend it. Just tolerate the episodes in the beginning.

12. Barakamon

Barakamon

This one is my personal favorite in the slice of life category. A lighthearted slice of series with no fan-service, pure comedy, and a relaxed vibe from the beginning to the end. What you’ll appreciate is the simple story and easy to relate characters and the lack of clichés. A soon-to-be-famous calligrapher Handa is very talented in his field but he is a narcissist to the core. While being judged once, his style was labeled as ‘unoriginal’ which made him lose control. As punishment, as well as self-reflection, he was exiled to an island. Pokemon

Ending with my personal favorite, Pokemon is an anime which is mostly considered as a gateway to the anime industry. This series also has a companion video game franchise. Pokemon are basically mysterious and fictional creatures. Pokemon trainers catch them, train them, and then try to battle through them as a sport. This may sound brutal and something which a kid definitely shouldn’t watch but that certainly isn’t the case. It exhibits the theme of friendship and focuses on trust. We follow Ash Ketchum on his journey to become a Pokemon Master along with his friends and of course, Pokemon. It is very similar to Digimon but the beings cannot talk. It is an easy recommendation for kids and a must-watch.
